It's all so simple that the only feasible way to turn it into a four-page argument is to make it a bigger deal than it really is.

Most of the characters in Mortal Kombat possess some supernatural means of propelling their bodies forward. Liu Kang's flying kick and bicycle kick? Impossible without wire-fu. Kung Lao's whirlwind kick? Just try it. Sonya does a goddamn vertical bicycle kick. She and Kitana both can do the squarewave punch. And how in the living fuck does Kano do that cannonball move?

And we're going to sit around yelling at each other about how and why Kitana can slide three feet forward on one foot?

If she also glowed green, then yeah, that would raise a few questions about why she can glow when she's never glowed before. But she's just doing a sliding kick move that practically anyone in the series could do if they wanted to. I've done it on a slick floor while doing a Johnny Cage impression. Sliding forward on your foot is not that special.

You know what, I think I agree with that guy who tweeted that the MK community is getting too toxic for its own good. There are like four people on this whole forum who are willing to enjoy this game without nitpicking every. tiny. godforsaken LITTLE THING.

while i see where the OP is coming from im not sure its that big a deal where an explanation would be required really....

I Kinda see jades kick as character specific only because she has a green glow/charge when she does it. which to me just means shes putting some sort of chi like strength behind her kick to give it a boost. and added power perhaps

whereas Kitana Just does a basic spin kick like jade with her own force behind it. No glow, no chi or magic like jade's or anything. So her doing it is perfectly fine. if she had a green glow or even a blue one for that matter i'd question the hell out of it then at that point. but since shes paying homage to a best friend who has passed it isnt hard to put your own force behind a kick that your friend before was able to do. Especially considering theyre over 10,000 years old and im sure kitana has seen Jade do the kick numerous of times in their day

Basically, I'm sure if Kitana and Jade were to charge at each other, both doing the kick at the same time, Jade would be the "winner" in that situation. Jade would over power Kitana in that instance due to Jade having more power/magic or whatever, behind the kick than kitana because while kitana may be able to mimic the kick, she isnt able to Mimic the magic/power/chi that Jade is able to accomplish behind her kick

Idk Thats just how i see it though.
