Yes. He was in every game except MK Deception. Even if you included MKvsDC, he wasn't in it.

I kinda actually do include him in Deception. I mean, if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have Onaga in a way.

And he makes a small appearance in Sindel's ending as his human self.

So I say, he's in Deception but not as Reptile, but essence of him does make an appearance.

Reptile is one of my favorites as well and to be honest his MK9 look was by far my favorite look of his to date. From far away hi lloked like a "Man" but up Close you can see that he wasn't. Which is how i believe it should be. A little bit a deception coupled with fear once the opponent realized they weren't facing a man. His least favorite IMO was his MK:D, not so much his visual appearance but his play style i was not a fan of.

As far as special moves, i don't think he needs a teleporting move, he has his Slide and Elbow Dash.

I hope if he is to be in MKX he keeps his MK9 look. I also hope he is no longer a lackey considering Shang Tsung & Shao Kahn are dead. He needs to set out on his own. (All he wants is his Race back)

it is really killing me not know how he is going to look. I am almost certain he will be in but I must know how he looks. My hope is that they make him a really badass looking humanoid lizard. WITH NO TAIL like in mk9. And a much better costume than MK9.

Seeing as he will get 3 different variations I think he will get at least 2 different looks. One will probably be unmasked and the other not. Then as for the third...
Speaking of thirds.

To the guy at the top of this page, Reptile was not in MK3 either. Not even Scorpion.

I liked that he looked like a snake in MK4 but that's about it. I really REALLY like how he looked in MKDA.

It is likely that we'll see Reptile in MKX. The only thing that I found good about him in MK 2011 was his overall utility of moves. I didn't like his look, his lack of speech, or his treatment as a character in the story mode. He was pretty underwhelming as a whole, and I'm still a bit iffy on how characters and stories will be treated.

Having said all of that, I do think there is potential for improving him. For his looks, I still like his MK: Shaolin Monks look the best, because it nicely balances out the reptilian features with the ninja outfit. I would like to see such a look return in a future game. His MK4 look is actually pretty good, but the costume itself is a little bland. If Reptile still serves Shinnok like he did in the old timeline, it would be nice to see a look for him where he's unmasked but have a costume that reflects his affiliation with Shinnok. Considering that Reptile began to devolve after MK3's timeline, perhaps a more crazed look would work.

For his story, it's hard to say really....Perhaps in this timeline, he does not become Onaga's vessel. Maybe we could learn a bit more about Reptile's race and possibly have him interact with Khameleon.

Gameplay-wise, MK 2011 did a good job giving him his special moves. His fighting stance and normal attacks didn't really sit right with me and ended up being an example of where they kind of went wrong. I actually think that with the vast majority of the characters' fighting stances and overall normal attacks, NRS did a great job capturing the essence of each character's fighting style. This is especially true for characters like Sonya, Johnny Cage, and Kung Lao.

But with Reptile, he had this sort of gorilla-ish stance, with some pro-wrestling type moves. I know this is all aesthetic stuff, all "fluff", but I just find that to be off, especially when coupled with how he looks in the game. I wish he would have something similar to his UMK3/MKT fighting stance.

But yeah, Reptile needs a fair bit of work if he's going to be something more in a future game. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he were to return as a punching bag if he were to be in MKX.

UMK3 is still MK3 just with added characters. So you can say he was in MK3.

The Posture of the Reptile MK9 I enjoyed. Like an alligator waiting for the victim, he became a quick zoner but was slow to cover large distances. In this aspect the game hit.

I basically agree, although I thought his normal attacks were pretty good.

I'm 100% on board with the awful treatment. He's still my favorite, but his overall presence in MK9 was disappointing. I'd also hoped for a Khameleon interaction. He's always been a lackey so what other direction is there than to pursue something for himself?

Human is my favorite but that doesn't mean a more reptilian look would put me off. I'd just prefer him to have a bit more precision and grace. He doesn't need to be animalistic even if he looks it.

I think they'll do 1 costume similar to that, and 1 with his ninja garb, but both having green scaley skin. No Tail!

Variation 1- Raptor: His claws come out and he gains Dash&Slash moves, much like Catwoman from Injustice and Sabretooth from XmenVsSF

Variation 2 - Chameleon. His Invisibility is 100% invisible and even allows 1 hit.

Variation 3 - Savage. Ninja mask is open, which allows acid spit specials and a tongue attack. (His tongue has been used in fatalities, but never specials. Weird)

I really Love these Variations here! Esp the Raptor Stance, popping out claws would be sick!

He used his tongue in a cutscene in MK9 as well, but yeah- never in battle. I'd like to see an Anti-Air tongue grab. "Get down Here"

What about a variation where he commands snakes? Remember that giant ass snake under his control in MK:SM. He could be like Dvorrah but with reptiles. Just a thought.

I agree with you Sub-Zero_7th about his stance in MK2011.
A stealty ninja would be better off to have a quick sweep rather than him doing a wrestling jumppush with his legs.

Very OT but I also found Sub-zero to be poorly designed in his combos/moves/stance in MK2011. Also to much gorillaesque with few combopossibilities. I wish he could trade moveset with Cyber Sub-Zero.

I also basically agree with both of you. @unleash_your_tounge "precision and grace" is the perfect way to describe how I also feel. He moved like a lackey in MK9; if that makes sense. He fought like he was constantly cowering. I would love some deliberation with Reptile in MKX. He was the best at stealth in the entire game. (His story started as him stealthily watching the First Tournament) and I also wanted him to be more (how do you say?) Suave than he was in mk9.

This.

I thought the ninja characters had moved on beyond all being palette swaps of one another. I don't understand why so many want Reptile to go back to being "human". Nostalgia I suppose because that is how we first knew the character.

I have enjoyed how the ninja characters have evolved over the years to become more individualized.

I'm not saying Reptile should just straight up look like a raptor or something but personally I've enjoyed the increased "lizardness" of Reptile in later installments. It's his continual and overwhelming stupidity that annoys me. They need to work on how they write him.

I've always considered UMK3 to be the canon version of MK3. It's not? The original game is canon? o_O

The updated version is always canon. UMK3/MKG/MKU are all canon.
Although I think trilogy might be the canon version of MK3 and not UMK3.
