I dunno, man. I feel like MK9 really got it right. If they stay away from MK4 they should be fine, honestly.

Reptile was at his best in the Conquest MK TV show that should be the template for the character especially with every character having 3 different versions.

I think they'll do 1 costume similar to that, and 1 with his ninja garb, but both having green scaley skin. No Tail!

Variation 1- Raptor: His claws come out and he gains Dash&Slash moves, much like Catwoman from Injustice and Sabretooth from XmenVsSF

Variation 2 - Chameleon. His Invisibility is 100% invisible and even allows 1 hit.

Variation 3 - Savage. Ninja mask is open, which allows acid spit specials and a tongue attack. (His tongue has been used in fatalities, but never specials. Weird)

So did I. I've learned to just stop having expectations about what Reptile 'should' look like though. He's an ever-changing entity, and I just believe that hoping for any one form is setting yourself up for punishment. :P

Well he was my favorite character from MK 2 until Deadly Alliance when they turned him into an actual Reptile. That ruined it for me. And they always make him look like a pussy who serves everyone else. Reptile will always hold a special place in my heart but enough is enough.

Loved him growing up, his best look by far was when he actually turned into a proper fuckin lizard in Deadly Alliance.

These days, he's a ghost of a character. MK9 gutted so many characters for me with botched retcon jobs that a lot of characters I grew up loving for their stories lost their appeal to me. Kitana and Mileena I only entertain these days because I've grown up kicking people's asses as them, it's the same with Reptile. MK9 hit the nail on the head in terms of gameplay, but it took it's toll on the story. If I was new to the series, I wouldn't see any appeal in half of the roster.

Years ago, I'd have fought for him. I'd have fought for his race, and his potential. In MKX, I couldn't care if he was killed off or not. The new Reptile isn't a character I can connect with. In fact, I'd rather see Skarlet, truth be told.

I actually thought they did him justice in MK 9. He could've had a better primary outfit but overall it was a step up. I just want him to return to human form. How would you feel if he returned to human form?

That would be cool. As long as his specials in a way shows off his reptilian features.

Yes! If he was in human form we can have a reptilian alt. Similar to MK4 please.

MK4's version of reptile was awesome voice and everything. But I only have 2 main favorite looks for him in all his entirety.

In Conquest he was a Rebel willing to fight shao Khan to free his realm and a badass, he even narrowly defeated shang tsung.

If they are doing 3 variations of each character then having a human reptile, lizard reptile and a sort of ninja reptile blend should totally be on the table everyone should get what they like.

Agreed. Give everyone what they want, They've never had a better opportunity to do so than now with mkx given the three variations.

Reptile should be in MKX. He's just as iconic as Sub-Zero and Scorpion.
I have a feeling he will make the cut. An MK4 revamp or Shaolin Monks revamp?

Where they really missed the bar with me on reptile is the whole devolution thing.

When Reptile first came to be a character I assumed he could change from Reptile to human at will. That's what fascinated me about him. He could literally blend with the earthrealm fighters and that alone would make him a huge threat. Then, when you turn your back he would eat your ass up like the monster he is.

He can't do that though. He's just a lizard man now. Nothing really fancy about that.

Human (while doing specials like acid spit, we see reptilian face) Also a scratch move, we see reptilian feet with claws, etc.

He should attain his force balls, running elbow as well. Give him an acid teleport, if not his invisibility will do. Give him an acid mist for a stun move.

Fatality

With the help of his acid mist, Reptile dazes his victim. victim passes out dropping face down. Reptile then gets on all fours, opens his mouth and lashes out his tongue. The tongue sticks to the victims head and then he retracts him tongue devouring the victim whole. Reppy has an acid reflex and vomits out bloody acid and some bones.

Animality

Since Reptile is an amphibian, there is no need for hhim to transform into an animal. Instead, he releases his acid mist which cover the opponent for a few seconds. When it clears, you see the victim transform into a real life lizard.

Didn't Reptile appear in almost EVERY MK game except Deception? (not counting the MK vs. DC abomination)
