I expect Reiko in the game, I honestly hope he's one of the assumed character reveals on the 11th. Also..stop with every character being related to other characters. It's beyond old, beyond unoriginal, it holds no water, just pointless speculation. Like really, Sindel and Shao Kahn's son? Why..??!! I really hope Cassie is the only case of two characters having a kid, enough with possibly everyone being some love child or related to some other fucking character.

I want reiko in. I for some reason have a special felling for mk4 characters. i even want jarek in if his moves can improve and they dont give him a retard look like in mkA.

I've actually always thought it would be cool if he wielded a scythe... Not much for clubs and hammers.

I always thought the weapon they ALMOST gave him in early build screenshots of Armageddon, the Devastator sword, fit his look the best.
But he doesn't need a weapon, he only had one because everyone had one and that engine is gone now.

Very true. If he had to have a weapon (other than shuriken,) that should be his (and most certainly not Fujin's.) Hammers and spiked clubs don't really fit him.
Reiko has always struck me as being a very nimble, flexible fighter what with his clock kick, teleport, and breakdancing round loss pose in Armageddon.
With him being that graceful and agile, I don't really see the need for him to lug around a gigantic hammer or sword.

Great...that's just what MK needs to be synonymous with rape...you're not very bright are you?
I image Outworld as sort of going through a civil war. I like the notion of Reiko being an Outworld warlord post- Shao Kahn's death. I'd assume that after Kahn's death there would be a massive power vacuum; Shokan, Centaurs, Tarkatans, and Men all vying for power. I could see Reiko being the representative of what's left of Kahn's empire. He seems more level headed then Kahn, and that he would have a better understanding of the duties of governing than some other players that would be trying to take control. Actually, I think he could play a role as some sort of "lesser evil." Perhaps Reiko is satisfied ruling only Outworld, rather than other realms, and he stands as a hesitant ally to the forces of light against some greater threat. To reference a now non-canon Star Wars plot, Reiko and what's left of Kahn's empire could act like the remnant of the Galactic empire did during the Yuuzhan Vong war.

I'd love to see Reiko take on more of an anti-hero/anti-villian role where he basically decides that he only aids the side that's winning. I do vaguely remember him being one of Shao Kahn's generals and a member of the brotherhood of shadow, which Noob Saibot was a member of.
So, maybe have him work alongside Noob Saibot in his alterior motives?

Reiko losing the Devastator was one of the most infuriating thing about Armageddon to me. I was annoyed at the watered down movesets.. but the weapons for Armageddon were terrible. They gave Noob-Saibot a Troll Hammer I think it was (hehe get it Boon, Troll), and they gave Reiko a hammer (hehe Kahn has one, so Reiko does to).
How in the hell they decided on Fujin having it is mind boggling.

yeah it is rather a sexy look. Certainly rare for a male MK character.
even though the outfit is soooo similar to shao kahn (except for the pants), i think they good job having it feel distinct still.
a very good chance they'll pull the same "admires shao kahn" theme for him in MKX as well. my main question would be if the hammer will return too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the devs notice from this forum before that we were chatting about how sexy Reiko was? Was it not Hector Sanchez who tweeted about it?
And yes, I'd love to see Reiko and a costume similar to his MKA primary. Daaaamn he fine!
Not sure about the rape aspect (I don't think a game so violent should associate itself with that subject) but I'd certainly like to see a bit more about his history.

I have the same sort of idea for Outworld. This could eventually lead to Onaga's return like in the OT to where he unites Outworld under his rule. But as for Reiko, I feel the same way about him representing the remainder of Shao Kahn's forces.
About the OP's idea of Reiko being the son of Shao Kahn and Sindel, I just don't think that idea would work since clearly, Shao Kahn thinks of Mileena as his rightful heir despite not being blood-related to him. I can see Reiko being the only person that's closest to something of a son to Shao Kahn but not being an heir. Perhaps with Reiko, he would see that Mileena is not strong and mature enough to rule Outworld, so he would try to take power for himself. Then again, I could see him being more tied into Shinnok's story if MK4's story is being covered in the 25-year span of MKX's story. Maybe in this new timeline, Reiko would have allied with Shinnok as a means of having the means to be able to take over Outworld.
Reiko's been general to both Shinnok AND Shao Kahn. He's also part of the Brotherhood of Shadow which will probably be quite relevant given the fact that we'll see a bit more of the Netherrealm with Shinnok being front and center for a while. With this being all that we know about him, it seems natural that they make Reiko a vital part of the story. He not only has connections to existing characters but also the potential to lead them.
As long as they keep his attitude as one of honor instead of being a cut-throat villain like practically every bad guy in MK is. Have him be loyal to whoever's in charge, but if for some reason they are no longer around, then absolutely have him take the mantle. Or helmet. Amulet. Whatever.
Him being the ruler of Outworld wouldn't necessarily make him a bad guy, I mean apparently Onaga ruled more peacefully than Kahn so why not. As long as he doesn't intend to take over other realms as someone mentioned earlier than he should be fine as a new ruler.
I'd also like to see some explanation between Reiko's hatred for Quan Chi. Personally I'd like Reiko to be somewhat responsible for Quan's anticipated death(at least by me, does anyone else want this bastard gone now?).

I like this idea. Reminds me of Gladiator from the Xmen comix. Serves the throne, becuz that's his duty, and he believes it a great honor... Even if that means kicking some goodguy ass

I'm in for Reiko. He needs a total re-design though (clothing wise). He's better with the shriukens than Noob. Noob doesn't even have that special in MK9...if I'm right?

Yeah, Noob doesn't have throwing stars in 9, he got the Ghost Ball from Trilogy back instead.
