I thought his Look for MKA was perfect, despite my hatred for flailed shoulderpads. Maybe his alt can have a Less-Ridiculous version of Kahns helmet.

I hope if he's in MkX, he's gotten more powerful over the years (I wish this for every mk fighter). I'd replace his ninja star attack with a blue fireball. Ninja stars would be to generic for the "First-Born Son of Kahn" LoL

I rather see him try to take Kahn's place, since that was basically the whole deal with his character. To rule Outworld one day. I'd rather see some ruthless soldier trying to overtake his fallen emperor's title than have ANOTHER Edenian character who's got some issue with Kitana.

But another Edenian character is a little bit off in this case, I mean we only have 1 male Edenian... and like 4 women. Reiko wouldn't even be full Edenian, just half from his mothers side.

I just think there are some connections in Reiko and Sindel looks, especially the hair from MK4 and his eyes.

Overtrow Shao Kahn is is like the most overused idea ever, cuz most evil characters want that.

I hope they give him new abilities in X, more of a powerhouse and maybe some abilities taken from his "father" or 'hero" Shao Kahn, as I don't expect Shao Kahn to make it in X.

I've always liked Reiko for some reason. I digged his Robin look from MK4, and he always seemed very interesting. His MK4 ending is still, to me, one of the most shocking, regardless of whether it was canon or not (obviously it wasn't).

Reiko, in MKX, should be a top military figure in Outworld, a highly respected and feared General. Basically, Outworld answers to Shao Kahn and Reiko. Considering Kahn may not be in MKX, Outworld can temporarily be under the reign of Reiko. It could be a breath of fresh air for the story and be a plot that can fit into this 25 years in the future timeline.

I'd welcome Reiko in MKX.

I really want him. Honestly didnt really dig him in MK4 but in MKA he was my favourite character to play as.

For his story I'd like him desperately looking for a way to resurrect Kahn, I like the idea suggested in this thread.

There's already an explanation for that. It's a Brotherhood of the Shadow thing. Reiko is supposed to look like Kia, Jataaka, and Sareena, and Sindel's hair streak and goth eye makeup matches them as well because Quan is the one who rezzed her, Sindel did not have black-and-white hair before she died.

Frankly, I don't want to see any stories in Mortal Kombat about Kahn having a secret son. If he had EVER had an heir other than Kitana and Mileena, he wouldn't fucking NEED Mileena to exist, it just doesn't make sense to reveal that all along, "Oh, every time Kahn's dead we talk about how these princesses he adopted because he had no children of his own are next in line for the throne but it turns out there's actually been someone ahead of them in the line of succession all along".

And if Kahn were ashamed of this son and trying to keep his royal blood a secret for some reason, then WHY would he have let Reiko be the highest ranked person in his army for years and years?

Reiko was a general, a military genius. He wanted the crown. He died and went to Hell and now he's Shinnok's general instead. Let's leave it at that, shall we?

If you MUST connect him to Shao Kahn more tangibly...Tobias revealed in an interview about two years ago what he had actually intended the MK4 ending to mean: HIS idea was that Kahn died in MK3 and Reiko was him reincarnated as a new person. Obviously, he didn't actually get to write it that way because he left and Vogel took over and wrote Kahn and Reiko differently in DA thru Armageddon...but if you really wanna change Reiko...well Kahn IS dead now, so there's a possible retcon that might make sense.

Well, maybe Sindel gave birth to Reiko and hide it from Kahn, she couldn't kill the baby but gave it to a person (fill in anyone here) that took Reiko into the Brotherhood of the Shadow.

Years later, Reiko found out his true heritage and thats when Shao Kahn died.

You do know the place of origin of the Brotherhood of Shadow is in the Netherrealm, right? You're basically saying that some random person took a baby to Hell.

I always thought of Reiko being a social misfit that wishes he can be Shao Kahn. Remember how he loved to sneak around and wear Kahn's helmet? I think his character should be a creepy warrior that was obsessed with Kahn, and wants to be him more than ever now that he is dead.

Well that wouldn't be that much of a shock.

While Sindel didn't really wanted to kill a baby, she didn't really cared what this person she gave it to (probably Quan Chi in disguise) did with it. Maybe Reiko didn't go to hell as a baby, but followed a very different road, making it possible for other characters to be included into the storyline that have connections with Reiko's past.

I like Reiko. I like his look, his moves, his attitude and his lust for power. He just doesn't seem to be a character I say "I need him in this game". Do I hope he is in? Absolutely. If he does get excluded from MKX, my reaction would be something along the lines of "too bad. Maybe next game".

We'll see. I'd like to see him. I'd definitely play him before any new character aside D'Vorah. Maybe Cassie, too.

Also Mileena's, Nightwolves and many other characters were pretty much changed in the MK9's storyline.

So I wouldn't be surprised if many past-Mk3 characters can change a bit too, especially characters that didn't have much of a storyline to hang on in the first place such as Tanya and Reiko..

Reiko is my second most wanted character from MK4 to make a return in MKX (first being Fujin). I'm not digging all this "secret son" of Shao Khan and Sindel though. His background is that of a general in Shinnok and later Shao Kahn's armies. He lust's for power and wants to take the thrown of Outworld. No need to give a character like that a new silly background. His look in MKA was bad-ass and what I'd like his appearance in MKX to resemble if he's included in the game.

But I like to put some salt and pepper on Reiko's shortcoming storyline, put some flavor to his backstory and give him some awesome connections with others.

Bastard son of Shao Kahn and a rape victim < Ruthless general with aspirations of being Outworld ruler.

Reiko died in MK9 after Shao Kahn learned of the Sorcerer Quan Chi plans from his own evil creation Skarlet he made Reiko poss as him for his battle with Raiden.

While lurking in the shadows Shao Kahn was captured by the Lien Qua and turned into Cyber Kahn!!!!
