If General Reiko is in this game they will make him a badass for no reason.

Reiko has always been a favorite of mine. Though his story and background can get confusing. He's a member in the brotherhood of shadows, yet all the members in the faction are either "dead" or demons from the netherrealm. It got me thinking that perhaps Reiko died somewhere along the line and Quan Chi saw potential in him like he did with Bi Han and necromanced him into the fold. Reiko has an issue with Quan Chi (as seen MKA's konquest). He could have been forced to join.

As we all know he's a pretty big fanboy of Shao Kahn and after the events of MK4 he joined up and became a General in Kahn's army. Why is he such a big supporter of Kahn that he swears his allegiance so easily? He's an outworlder, by nature they are creatures of savagery and ruthlessness. Kahn being the realm's appointed protector (like Raiden to Earth) poisons Onaga and takes the realm as his own. Not satisfied with one realm he pursues other realms to fall under his command. My theory is that Reiko worships Shao Kahn and has great respect for his ambition and in his twisted mind aids Kahn because he believes that all the power Kahn amasses will one day be his.

Reiko does make a off screen appearance in MK9. Being announced to fight Kenshi. Meaning he was present even before Shinnok's return. This could have huge implications because with the state Outworld is in there's a power vacuum and Reiko would gladly try to rise up and take Outworld's vacant throne.

My question to the OP. If Shao Kahn could father children then does that not mean the creation of Mileena is redundant?
Also I kinda feel that having another power hungry "demigod" is a tad overkill. We already have Rain and Daegon for that.

And in that little side-story of mine it would be so that Sindel acts as if she never got a child from him.

Also i'm kinda curious to the Reiko vs Kenshi battle? when did that happen? can't remember it?

They say there's a moment in MK9 Story Mode, during the second tournament, where as the characters are walking away, (I think it's right after Sub-Zero has been captured by Sektor and Cyrax? I could be wrong on that)...that if you listen close, you can hear Shang's voice in the background faintly announcing the next fight will be Reiko vs Kenshi.

I've never heard it myself, I'm convinced it's just a rumor.

As for Reiko, I'd love to see him back, but I don't want him to be Shao Kahn (and/or Sindel's) lovechild.
Reiko seems like one of the most reasonable and intelligent of all the evildoers, seeing as how he's friendly to Taven and tries to recruit him, before warning him that he needs to kill him for refusing.
If only we could have a competent major villain who isn't a complete douche or a complete idiot.

Yeah I definitely hear "Kenshi versus Reiko." The "O" part of Reiko is a little difficult to make out though.

It also doesn't say anywhere that he has any children of his own either. Millenia in existence and not a word of a single biological child, with all the slave girls crawling to his feet? Those odds aren't favorable.

Well maybe Sindel isn't the mother, but somebody else can be, as so many women crawl at the feet of Shao Kahn, he maybe has many sons that don't even know they are his son.

I'm maybe the only Reiko fan that really wants the vague story of him to change, he has so much more potentional than just be that other General in some army that wants to take the power for himself. He must have a cool background, maybe Sareena can be part of that as well?

I can sorta hear "Kenshi versus..." but the rest I can't make out at all because Raiden is talking over it. I think people may be imagining the second name is Reiko.

I really heard him say Reiko.

He definitely says "Ray", so if it's a familiar character it can pretty much just be Raiden or Reiko unless I'm forgetting someone. And it wouldn't make sense for it to be Raiden.

Raiden isn't part of the tournament and Kenshi VS Raiden doesn't make sense because earthrealm doesn't fight earthrealm in the tournament...

Hence why I said it wouldn't make sense for it to be Raiden.

At the very least, you can hear "Kenshi versus Rei-" before Raiden starts blathering. While he's mumbling to himself, it sounds a lot like Shang finishes the name with "-ko" or, at least, "-o".

Regardless, you can see Reiko in the Pit, Shang Tsung's Gardens, and in CSZ's database. I'd say all those little cameos give hint he'll probably return. Hopefully, he won't have a ton of stupid retcons like so many other characters in MK9.

Because the Emperor wouldn't want an heir? Kahn isn't going on Maury Povich, he'd definitely keep tabs on all of his Kahn babies.

Maybe he doesn't care, he wants all the power for himself, he's immortal after all and willing to live in power forever, when he's dead he doesn't care who gets the power. And being immortal really doesn't give rise to a need to have heir.

Then why was Mileena created?
I seem to recall Kahn's exact words in MK9 being "Finally, I have a true daughter".
Ignoring the fact that she's NOT a true daughter because he didn't give birth to her and she shares none of his DNA...why does he want one?

I find that part vague.

Mileena is simply to stupid to be of any importance in MK9, also Edenia is already in his power... He uses Kitana more as a slave than as a daughter and he would gain nothing from it when she dies, he could have killed her himself or force her to marry him or whatever.

My thoughts exactly. He in one way or another wants an heir. Kitana was his adopted daughter but he needed one who would be more obedient, hence Kahn charging Shang Tsung with creating his "one true daughter" in the flesh pits.

His immortality is kind of dubious, but even allowing for that, having a plan B is never a bad thing. Take, for example, Deadly Alliance. Kahn is taken out (baffling though it was) of the picture for a while. Seems like clear lines of succession / fully indoctrinated heirs would keep things running smoothly until your return.

But just look at Game of Thrones, Robert Baratheon has many MANY sons with whores for example...

Why wouldn't Shao Kahn have such sons he didn't really care or know about?

Mileena was probably created from his DNA mixed with those of tarkatans and that of Kitana, that's probably why he calls her true daughter.

But for what reason does he want to replace Kitana? What use does Kitana have for him? Edenians were always his enemies, she was never his daughter, and after 10.000 years he suddenly wants an replacement for Kitana? For what freaking reason?

What purpose would Kahn get by marrying Kitana? I feel that's fan fiction at it's worse. The whole purpose of him having Shang to make Mileena is so that he has an obedient daughter. He knew Kitana wasn't so trusting , that's why he constantly had someone watch her, whether it'd be Jade or Reptile. Anything to keep her away from those from Earthrealm. I never once saw him treat her as a slave, just as soneone who wanted a daughter and realized she's not as easy to order around.
