I want to believe Rain is unlockable but then i feel like those people still clinging on to hope for the 3d era characters. Should i give up hope. Are subject to this drought forever? Will we never get rain? ????????

When I saw Rain in the comic, believe it or not, I started to worry, wonderin' if he had enough class. But I read it on a saturday night, I guess that makes it alright, and I said "baby, will he make the final cast?"

I had a random MK thought when I woke up today, kinda Rain related. The mk9 story ending teased a retelling of the mk4 era for the sequel. I really feel like the first MKX roster meeting shoulda went like this... "Ok team, let's work on the big3 (Scorpion, SubZero, Raiden) then we need to redesign the mk4 guys. Then let's work on Kenshi, Skarlet, and RAIN. Since they were only DLC last game. THEN let's pump out some new blood."

"Oh yea, less focus on giant shoulder pads" ;)

Just thought I'd pop in to rekindle some hope. Today we got confirmation that more than 5 unannounced playable characters appeared in the story trailer. We saw Johnny, Sonya (barely), Shinnok (first boss, seen in attract mode), Mileena (seen in Cage trailer gameplay, confirmed by multiple sources), Erron Black (seen in attract mode), Takeda, Jacqui, and Kung Jin. That's 8 confirmed characters. I'd say that buffs Rains chances, in that Boon's wording of "5 confirmed" just meant that they were going to confirm 5 of them right there. One of the articles posted today mentioned seeing a couple of unannounced characters, but only mentioned Erron Black by name. I think it's a safe bet that the other was Rain, as he's probably going to be one of the last pre-release reveals, probably alongside Erron. At this point they've just been slowly showing us the characters they've teased, and Rain is the last one left.

How do u guys feel about Rain chances after this trailer ? Still the same?

I think since johnny and erron black arn't boot 2, which leaves boot 2 to not match any of the "leaked "roster, there are more playables

so i feel good about rain.

Who is left from that " leaked" roster?....lui kang only or is there some one else

The glimpse of Fujin in story mode is saying one of two things. There are tons of NPCs making appearances or the roster will be bigger than expected. Since we have Sonya, Johnny, AND Cassie I'm believing that it will be the latter.

The roster is definitely not representative enough at this point, so I am expecting more. I also believe Shinnok CANNOT be the only original Mk4 character to return (aside from Quan Chi) so I am unsure on the chances of Rain making it.

I expected to be confident in the return of Fujin, Tanya, and Reiko. I welcomed Jarek and Kai, but did not believe they would return. Overall I would have loved to see all of the MK4 characters appear.

I thought one of those was Jax

How come people expect Tanya to come back.....there's no signs of her to come back.......but i do agree
