The guy is a fallen Elder God, he needs to be an absolute monster. Oh, and judging by the fact that MINION posted a picture with Shinnok having GREEN jewels on his outfit when in his signature from the story trailer Shinnok is wearing RED jewels, kinda shows off how his look will change with variations.

He seems so genuinely menacing. I hope we see more of him after the Netherrealm War.

I just wish they would've revealed him earlier. He definitely deserves some pre-release date attention from the masses.

Quan Chi really doesn't seem to be doing too much in MKX, I think both should've swapped reveal styles lol

The detail in his outfit from the above pic tingles me. The individual stitches in the leather collar, and on his crown, the spiderweb weaving of his metal choker, the details of his shoulder pads, and the detail of his face (so glad he has eyeballs)... as a fellow Shinnok fanatic, I am glad he seems to be FINALLY getting a proper iteration. I have had high expectations for him, and Quan Chi, ever since I got the MK4 comic as a pre-order bonus. Sadly, I was badly letdown by both the acrade and home versions of MK4 (even Gold). Shinnok was slightly better in MKA, but still felt short of his true potential. Ever since this comic picture, I have "fallen" in love with the fallen elder god (see what I did there), and I cannot wait to see his gameplay.

The only thing I wish is that he had an outfit more similar to one of his MK4 or Armageddon outfits, just for fun.

That or the creepy old floating bastard he was in Mythologies.

Either way he looks cool, one of the better 3D era characters and I just hope he doesn't get screwed over by Quan Chi or something.

Troll Shinnok?

It wasn't really the numbers of fan demand we were trying to establish. It was more or so at what point he would show up. Initial roster or dlc. I did not once doubt his presence. I was more fixated on his presence in the game and at what point he'd pop up.

I'm completely satisfied of his look. Design. Everything about him is perfect that's been shown.

After such a long time, it’s finally looking good for the blue bastard.

I’ve wanted to love this guy since MK4; he was completely overshadowed by Quan Chi – in a way, he was the first in a long list of characters that tennis-ball looking motherfucker punked, and it didn’t help that he was basically a more aggressive Shang Tsung without the morphs.

In a way, Armageddon was better for him than any other character; it did a great job at showing us a bit of his skill at being a master manipulator, and it let us play with those skeleton hands for the first time. I’m hoping they can do for him what they did for Smoke – make an incredible new gameplay character from the ground up.

But for someone who’s supposed to be the de facto god of evil in this series, I don’t think we’ve ever really followed through on his full potential. The guy should be scary, and far more intimidating than Shao Kahn.
He’s always been presented as this kind of distant background threat, and I don’t think we’ve ever seen what he’s really capable of, except for the tail end of Mythologies where we see his demonic nature in that giant form. I’m still hoping for a last boss that will truly surprise me, but if they bring that back, like I’ve wanted for years? Dang.

I’ve brought it up elsewhere, but I’m hoping his ‘Impostor’ variation name is a hint to the fact that he may not have actually been sealed in that amulet; that he could have created a doppelganger of himself the way he did in MKA. I’d love it if he spent Story mode playing everyone off against each other from the shadows.

I really hope he doesn’t get owned by any of Quan Chi’s garbage this time. It’s funny; within the last two weeks we’ve been given a small flood of info about him; cutscene shots, now a shot of his alt and an achievement icon. That’s more than Quan Chi’s been given so far. I’m hoping it’s indicative that he’ll play a major role in Story with more exposure, coming out on top of ol’ tennis-ball head.
