Reiko looks so awesome omg. I do want Mileena to be smart and stuff but Reiko is doing a great job. Im not even gonna lie. I didnt really want Reiko in MKX but now i do. Poor Koral Ketz. Why was Goro even sided with them at all? Didnt he help take down Osh Tek? Im excited to see more of Rain and Mavado too!

Something that's kinda bugging me. When Shao was in possesion of the hammer he could summon it whenever he wanted. Could Ketz not summon the hammer back to him when Goro took it? I guess that was a Shao Kahn only thing. Or he was too dazed from that x-ray attack.

Yet another splendid chapter, and thankfully, the art wasn't as substandard as the last chapter.

That means Erron will live! Awesome! And I really want to see my boy Reptile... Still ask myself why they are using his alt in the comic instead of his MKX outfit like for everyone else.

He looks far more human looking in his alt... Maybe he devolved after the war again. or some sort.

Reiko with Shao Kahn hammer... Sounds bad-ass. Still doubt he will be in the game

It's becoming more and more apparent that Reiko is the one stirring the drink in terms of the Resistence that could presumably bring about the fall of Koral Kahn.

He seduced Mileena, who in turn brought Goro on board and he recruited the Red Dragon. Wasn't Shao Kahn a general before he became emperor? Could Reiko be that end boss that no one sees coming?

I wasn't a big Reiko fan before, but he's really growing on me.

As for everything else:

-It was great seeing Goro look like such a threat.
-Mavado looked freaking awesome. Really wish he was in this game. Too bad Boon deconfirmed him.
-Still no Baraka? Curious that him and the Tarkatans have absolutely nothing to do with all that's going on in outworld.
-Really glad Erron Black has a big shot at being in the game. Hopefully we get to see him in the comic soon so there's a personality or move or something to tie to the cool design.

Yeahhh things are looking good for Reiko!! Even though he doesn't have an updated costume, I really hope he is in! Still no sign of Shang so I'm doubtful he is truly in the game this time.

Heh, good to see NRS had the same idea when it came to Rain...sort of. Though in my version he was pretty much playing the part of Reiko;manipulating Empress Mileena and getting close to her so he could have the throne for himself.

Reiko sounds badass. If he isn't in the game as a playable character (which I'm kinda thinking he is but at the same time I just know Mileens is going to rip his head off) then Reiko will definitely be a major NPC in story mode.

Poor Kotal Ketz, but at least Erron will definitely be playable in the game now

A bit weird how Rain isn't shown in this issue. Maybe they're hiding the fact he's got an updated costume? Maybe he is in the game? Guess we'll have to wait and find out.

Nice issue, though everything was predicted a week ago.
Reiko is really awesome, with his tactical skills. Goro (as much as I dislike him) is a serious threat. Mavado's cameo and mention of Rain were really nice.

Which, may I remind you, was also his idea.

You know, the more I look at this design, the more I'm starting to appreciate it.


He's still wearing a hood and a mask, for anyone who prefers the ninja look.

At the same time, it's not much of a disguise, as it's immediately obvious that he's a freaky lizardman. That mask might as well be painted on.

Those mummy wraps around the back of his head are a callout to his MKSM design, which, as you might recall, was the previous attempt to find the ninja-lizard equilibrium that could satisfy everyone.

And lastly, the mask with the convenient mouthhole for acid-spitting? Where have we seen that before?

Ok so with all this focus on Reiko I think he actually will NOT be playable but will be a cameo during the Shinnok period.

He has no new costume (not even in Flashbacks, just naked with Mileena) much like Jarek, Tasia, Hsu Hao and Mavado. I still have my hopes for Frost, Kenshi and Fujin.

But if he's not playable it's still great to see him not cast off to the side completely and better yet as a worthy antagonist to Kotal Kahn.

Kenshi was in his MK9 outfit though. By your logic that means he's deconfirmed.

Frost and Fujin don't have new costumes either. Frost was just in training gear, definitely not a new costume. Fujin was in his MKA outfit.

You got rid of the bit about Kenshi's different outfit in that one page in the prelude for reasons I don't understand but here's what I was going to post anyway;

He's wearing a basic outfit for one page and that justifies his confirmation to some people? Please. By this logic Reiko wIil be in MKX with his main costume being shirtless. I want Kenshi in, but the fact he's in his MK9 outfit for 99% of his appearance in the Prelude doesn't bode well. Just saying

The way I see it if they're drawn with more than one outfit or something new no matter how generic looking I think they've got a pretty good chance to make it in or through DLC (Frost).

Not logical but better than the alternative: fearing Takeda outright takes Kenshi's place instead of being his own unique character with his own unique moveset.

I'm sorry, but a couple of basic outfits mean dick to me when it comes to confirmation. Kenshi was in his MK9 outfit for almost all of the prelude chapter and he only had different costumes in flashbacks for a story that will no doubt not need repeating at any point in MKX's story mode. Frost is in the same ball-park. Her MMA outfit was basic as fuck and had 0 thought put into it. It would be a pisstake if the basic costumes her and Kenshi had in the comics were their main outfits. IMO, Kenshi is probably going to cameo at the utter most unless he becomes DLC, and seeing as Boon said that no one who was DLC in MK9 will be DLC in MKX, it's looking unlikely for Kenshi and likely for Takeda, who I would personally prefer over Kenshi, as I'm getting rather sick of him.

And do you really think Takeda would be a copy and paste of Kenshi? Please. NRS are far better than that and seeing as he's a generation fighter, Takeda will no doubt have a move set that is no where near Kenshi's. Besides, I think Takeda is the bow character personally, seeing as the bow character had a distinct yellow headband, just like Takeda had in the comics. That in itself makes him very different to Kenshi.

stop making Reiko cool. I hate him, I didn't care about Goro or Mileena.

Kotal Kahn is bad-ass. D'Vorah and Ferra/Torr are nice additions too. Erron Black can be great. Don't care about Reptile - but hoped for him at least the same evolution for Hanzo/Scorpion.

And now Reiko can be at Kotal's levels. And you put Mavado & Rain into the mix. How I can choose a side in Outworld's Civil War? (hint: put Li Mei in one side and they will get me forever).

Kano was supposed to be my Johnny "Awesome" Cage for MKX. Now if Reiko makes the cut, I will hate me myself.
