He is, his agenda makes him the perfect troll. I don't think he even cares about himself. only his commitment to chaos, truly a fanatic.

Such a great issue, I was really pumped to see Kuai face off against the Lin Kuei, but that was simply done even though he froze the shit out of them in an awesome way. Really hoping his story with them isn't brushed off. I want to see he and Sektor duke it out.
Also Cage trying to make buddies with Reptile makes all sorts of happy. Reptile is probably my 2nd favorite and I love seeing Cage hanging out with all these crazy Outworlders. It was always assumed in the games that he had relationships with everyone, but his story was always so singular and had nothing to do with the games outside of trilogy. Nothing posses me off more than his MK4 ending, he had this great bio and then his ending was a complete waste.
Anyway, good stuff, I'm loving this comic.

Has Hanzo turned fully back to Scorpion or not because he seems to see reason and help Raiden again. I thought in the digital chapter he says he has enough Hellfire for a lifetime but now is going to back to helping Raiden?

Back to the present, Cage looks in bewilderment at Mavado’s remains (“My little princess did THIS?”) Erron rises, bloodied, and tells them the Red Dragons left him to pass on a message: “You are invited to Shang Tsung’s island.”
Sonya states that Tsung is dead, she askes who is there. The answer is Reiko’s spiritual advisor, an ancient cleric named...Havik.
On Tsung’s island, standing alongside Reiko before a banquet, Havik (in his MK9 main outfit), addresses his new guests: “Please enjoy this feast we’ve prepared. It may be your last."

Shang Tsung's Island stage possibly maybe?!
Odd that Havik's quite possibly using it as a base of operations, but I'm glad it's seeing more use now. It was all but forgotten after MK1 in the previous timeline.

No Hanzo just gets in that Scorpion zone when he needs to call upon its power. Like when fighting a Thunder God. He uses it very efficiently killing his opponents quickly and zones back out into his human form. If he were to be in a battle for an extended period of time Scorpion may consume him again. I think it's also a possibility that he needs to stay out and away from the Netherrealm where Scorpions powers are known to grow(this is just spekulation on my part)

In light of all this comic development, I'm leaning toward a few conclusions.
1. That Shinnok will be a "boss" early in the game. And the threat of his release will be a plot point throughout the game.
2. Kotal Khan and crew attaining the throne would be a "good" scenario for earthrealm. I think they will work both with and against (probably initially) earthrealm warriors. I also think the fact that they will be somewhat "good" will allow for them to be playable in the story mode.
3. The Reiko/Havik/Mileena/Goro seem to be a team of their own. With that said, I think this gives them a way to write Goro in as the sub-Boss and have Reiko or Havik as the Boss.
Aspects that could change this outlook would be how long before Mkx will this meeting with Havik have been? Also, if the amulet was stowed away in a dark realm, how did mileena get her hands on it? Was it stored in chaosrealm and Havik provided it to reiko\mileena?
Idk, but I think the comic is giving decent insight to how the game will be structured (boss-sub boss) etc.

I really doubt Goro will be the sub-boss. I'm kind of thinking maybe Reiko could be the sub-boss and Havik the boss? Hmmm.

The comics will continue post launch. This is not the final print issue. D'Vorah is on the cover of Issue #5.

This isn't the last comic. There is one more with this "story arch". The comics continue after the games release as well.

I'm surprised Havik really did end up being so important in the story. And damn, I'm really happy Cassie and Jacqui killed Mavado. It sounds awesome.
Reiko though... damn. I wish Mileena would just kill him already.

Just as possible^
Just sticking with the shokan subboss theme. Until deadly alliance they always seemed to use a four-armed or four legged beast as a sub-boss. In DA they had Moloch which was another big creature though. Idk, they seem to have that in nearly every game, but I can see them changing it up.

This better mean Havik and Reiko are in the game. I'll be slightly pissed off if the game doesn't cover Mileena getting screwed over by these two. Havik, Reiko & Rain being on the roster would fucking make me wanna go jump off of my roof in excitement. It'll be pretty piss poor if the comics had a better main player kast than the game did.
Copy pasted from other thread:
Mentions Fujin, Raiden says he is checking the Netherrealm border in case Quan Chi is the demon. Honestly this was probably my favorite issue yet, so fucking hype and it was just so great. I really didn't want it to end. Cya Mavado, maybe you'll be back next game lolol
Also can we just discuss for a moment
To keep Shinnok sealed they literally have to use blades with the blood of the ONE BEING? Shinnok sounds ridiculously fucking powerful in this.

The comics were written after the game's plot script so the comic plot script is built atop the game's story. Something appearing in the comic does not suppose that it will appear in the game.
I think more that the comics are to provide backstory and explore parts of the narrative the game did not. I do not think much of what the comic shows will be in the game.
