Ha! Agreed mk4 was the worst in my opinion, didn't care for deadly alliance either. I've always been partial to the human ninja design, but I understand the desire for diversity. Shaolin monks alternate with the scaly, yet human skin, is a great look.

It was discussed on the netherkast, in his retrospective, that there's no point in reptile hiding who he is anymore since it's widely known in the mk universe. Thy is a valid and logical point, but there will always be apart of me that would like to see the human flesh tone. That's why I dig the scaly flesh colored version of his shaolin monks alternate so much.

Yeah it does make sense but something about his more human look is cooler to me. Maybe its because that's what I was used to seeing him as growing up. I guess if they can hook us up with a humanlike alternate ill be cool with the reptilian form, his retro costume is literally all I used when playing as him in MK0.

At this point, Idgaf what he looks like, just as long as he's in!

Although I do feel like a more grotesque reptilian creature would better fit into the grit and dark tone MKX has going on. Even then though with the variations it's hard to see them not paying respect to his more human/ninja attire.

I gotta feeling it'll all be alright.

Yeah I think IF he is in, we will get at least one variation that's based on his more human side, who knows, there still may be times where using a human disguise might be beneficial to him, like going undercover or going in unfamiliar territory lol

Now why ya gotta sink hearts with a capitalized "IF"? tongue

Right. I just don't see them leaving that side of Reptile out completely. There's still DLC skins to consider too.

Lol just because , you know how internet people can be, if didn't put "if" in there some jackhole will come out of the woodworks like " daherrrr Reptile hasn't even been confirmed yet dude!"

Lol I really do want him in though, I have always enjoyed Reptile, he has such a cool concept, yet barley anything has been done with it :/

I still say Reptile has one of the most impressive move lists of the entire roster. He's got stuns, knockdowns, and pop-ups all just within his special abilities. There's no way they're not going to bring him in to show off what MKX can really do in terms of gameplay.

Even though he gets stuck in the mud story-wise, he always ends up being a fairly well-rounded, powerful character when it comes to gameplay. And he's just got tons to offer the variation system, so it's not like sorting that out would be too difficult.

Very well said, his story leaves so much to be desired but as a Cage fan I'm used to that. He's been my 2nd favorite since MK2. His gameplay in mk9 was so much fun and it'd be a damn shame to miss him in mkx.

I agree, he has always been pretty diverse in terms of gameplay and specials. He has always been fun to play, especially when using the forceballs.

They could make an entire variation using his forceball powers. That might be too similar to Raiden's Storm Lord variation though.

A whole variation based on forceballs? Sign me up lol that would be so fun. I think NRS could do great things with Reptile, especially in this game, its the perfect opportunity to experiment with his powers a bit and see what they can do with him.

I was SO mad at Midway for MKDA Reptile not only being fugly, but NO FORCE BALL? WUT?! At least MKA Reptile got the Elbow Dash back, the MKSM costume, AND inherited MKD Liu Kang's Pao Chui style, which imo, was one of the best styles from that era.

So happy we're past those times though, lol.

I agree, the Force Balls are so unique, they could easily make up a distinct variation. A Force Ball Shield (think like Chun-Li's Super Kikoken), he still hasn't had a "rolling" Force Ball, and the possibility of smaller Force Balls for ranged attacks and fast-paced throwing.

Yeah, this could happen. Reptile in MKX ftw. tongue

Back then...I hated MK4's.

But looking back....I actually kinda like it. Purple pants and all. I still hate the 3-finger business, but that's minor deets.

MK9 was terrible though, lol.

TG4DLC.
