*Sighs* I am getting sick of people mentioning Hydro. Not to mention, seeing how Tundra and Sub-Zero are code names, what do you supposed Hydro is? A codename itself. So if this so-called Hydro character does "become" Sub-Zero, he's going to randomly ditch that codename to take on another? Two names that have nothing in common with each other?

How in the fuck does that make sense? At least Tundra and Sub-Zero can be closely similar since both have to do with cold, ice, and freezing. Hydro is just... water. Nothing in common.

Not to mention, using water-based moves that somehow "freezes" is completely different than having ice-based moves. That's not what Sub-Zero is. He doesn't use any water powers, if you want that, there's always Rain.

We do not need some random new person to take that code name either. I doubt the Lin Kuei just grabs some random member and say, "Hey you, wanna take the name Sub-Zero? Both brothers are dead, no one is using that. There you go!" Having three people take on that name is too much. No, we don't need that.

That's three Sub-Zero characters. As a huge fan of him, I refuse to allow that to happen. There's no reason why the brothers need to be suddenly ditched because they're "dead." Nuh-uh, one of them is still alive. And seeing how there's all this time traveling stuff, I doubt one of them is permanently dead. I guarantee we're going to see at least one of the two brothers.

Actually I'm pretty sure their father kidnapped them in the old timeline to be members of the Lin Kuei. Razor, where you at? I need a confirmation there.

Never seen conquest thanks. Other people mention it because it makes sense. IMO The team kinda wrote themselves into a corner with all this "last of extinct race" stuff. Reptile's race, Nitaras race, Kintaros races, the Cyromancers/ whatever smoke and tremor are. My solution is to find more Cyromancer because I will literally take anything over resurrection.

Quick story off the top of my head that makes sense. Cyromancers are from Outworld. Some "of the last of their kind" hear word about the Lin Kuei initiative and basically shitting on the cyromancer's (also bad for their reputation). Outworld natives hear of the business happening in Outworld and send someone to destroy in Lin Kuei in earth realm. New kid takes on Sub Zeros name because like him, he was a Cyromancer and was inspired by Sub Zeros resistance to the Lin Kuei/ He's there to avenge what happened to Bi-Han/ Lin Kuei.

I'll take anything over resurrection. Once again, just my opinion.

That's actually not bad because I agree that Sub-Zero's race shouldn't be extinct. Hell, Frost proves their are probably more out there.

What I think would be good though is that since we never saw Kuai Liang automated, it would be interesting if they just popped to Kuai in Outworld on his death bed.

Sektor and the other cyborgs just really messed him up, so badly that they thought he wouldn't take to the automation process. So, they copied some DNA from Kuai onto this cyborg (whoever he is) so that he would know how to better manipulate ice upon his automation (Would explain Kuai's memories in the thing).

Then, Kuai feels a nearby presence calling him. It's the only thing that keeps him going. Once he reaches this calling he finds the cryo-armor of his ancestors. Pissed off, he goes back to fuck Sektor up.lol

lol I TOTALLY forgot about Frost when it came to the argument of more subs being plausible.... Ya there are more Cyromacers out there for everyone who can't accept the idea of a new Sub. Thanks for the reminder lol

Mythologies' backstory was quite clear that Bi-Han and Kuai Liang were abducted from their mom and forced to join the Lin Kuei by their own father, who was codenamed Sub-Zero before them, and was the "fourth generation" of his family to be so. Which shouldn't be all that surprising, of course their dad and grandpa and so on would have been cryomancers too since cryomancy powers are inherited from your ancestors.

The only revelation there is that working for the Lin Kuei runs in the family too and the name is a legacy, like some superheroes. When they die, they pass on the mantle so that their enemies don't realize they're gone and think they're immortal or something. ('Course, Mythologies came out way before Deception did, so you actually should have known Sub got his powers from his Lin Kuei dad BEFORE you knew what a cryomancer was...but too many people never paid attention to MKMSZ...)

So Bi-Han IS canonically Sub-Zero the Fifth, and Kuai Liang is Sub-Zero the Sixth.
MK9 could have retconned this of course, it's not actually clear. But that is what it was.
P.S. to the people who didn't understand Chrome's post:
"Post-Op" is what you call a tranny after they get the sex change surgery. He was joking that the Sub in the trailer is Frost as a man.

I hope they don't get all cornball and make another Sub-Zero smh... but this is what i found out about there race. So there could be other survivors out there.

Though I really think Kuai Liang is the best and true Subby, I don't think he should be the main Sub-Zero of MKX. Mainly because I'm tired of him being used as Scorpion's punching bag, but also because they totally ruined the story of his character by turning him into a robot then simply having him killed without any importance! I really don't want NRS messing with his character anymore unless they some how fix there mistakes from the MK9 story.

This a million times over. Honestly some of the people here piss me off to no end. Kuai Liang will always be Sub-Zero he has been since mk2 no new guy no cyber shit none of it. Kuai will be resurrected along with all the other characters, and the game will continue. Why is this such a hard concept?

Because people think Bi Han still needs to be developed as his Sub-Zero part, in which I say no to that. I've seen a discussion a bit ago that had people asking if there was more room to develop him. What for? We know who he is already, there was an ENTIRE game based on him, we clearly saw what he is like. There is no need to develop him any further. Bi Han is just a dick, and him being Noob shouldn't make a difference because it's still Bi Han.

If Noob is to return, in whatever way they decide to, I'd be down for that. But for him to return as Bi Han/Sub-Zero, no. I'm not down for that because then what's the point of having Kuai Liang? I'm not going to have two Sub-Zero's as Sub-Zero. I'd rather have one brother be Sub-Zero and the other be Noob, and there's our brother fight.

Yeash, you'd think this issue would be so complexed but it's not. You just have Bi Han stay as Noob, Kuai Liang stays as Sub-Zero, and have no one else take that name and be the "new" Sub-Zero. Hell, I would STILL appreciate Sub-Zero if he stayed as a cyborg, just to avoid all this crap that doesn't need to be thrown in as "what-if" possibilities.

I agree. See I absolutely hate cyber Sub-Zero, but I've maintained that the announcer never called him cyber Sub-Zero. It was still just Sub-Zero. IMO, Kuai Liang is Sub-Zero. Bi-Han is Noob. I mean Noob is even the character that Bi-Han fan's want. His name's just not Sub-Zero.

My point, just because Kuai Liang became a cyborg and died didn't Not make him Sub-Zero. He's still Sub-Zero. Hell, I'd argue them giving Kuai the code name of Tundra cements the fact that he's Sub-Zero since that is what the Sub-Zero character in general was to be named.

NRS know that die hard Sub-Zero fans want HUMAN sub. Kuai will be back for mk10 just as he has for every other, and all these theories of Bi han as sub-zero ( which is so dumb why would you get rid of Noob a fan favorite) will be put to rest.

It seems every new game that comes out the Sub-Zero theories are beyond dumb im sorry. My only gripe with Sub i s i hate the new mask design, i love the mask from my icon hes had for a long time now, its become a symbol for him. i hope they return it. Im excited as all hell for the new mk 10 and cant wait to again play with my favorite character of all time in any medium.

That's what Bi-Han fans want though. They want the asshole or the prick. Some of them flat out admit that, because to them Evil=amazing.

To that I say NRS gave you your character, his name is Noob Saibot. Stop trying to ruin Sub-Zero because you HAVE to have Bi-Han be Sub-Zero as well. He's a better character as Noob.

Personally, I see Sub-Zero as more of an identity than a single person. It all comes down to how attached you are to a single incarnation.

I used to be all gung-ho about Kuai Liang as Sub. Loved how he grew and changed as the series went on. Had the best story in all of MK, really did. When MK9 came along and screwed him up though...I lost my attachment and enthusiasm for that character (as well as for much about the series in general - though I am grateful they finally gave the brothers names).

I've just never really seen him as "the true Sub-Zero" or anything like that. It's a question of perspective. Hell, the shift in identities kind of makes a point about that, doesn't it? Sub-Zero is whoever the hell is under the mask at the time. It's a lineage. Noob's a logical conclusion for Bi-Han of course, but I'm not opposed to seeing him return if only because I'd find it interesting to see what choices he'd make if given a second chance at life; might he be more strongly prompted to avoid the type of life that made him into Noob Saibot in the first place? The fact that he spared Sareena did leave open a tiny question as to his character; Mythologies made a point of asking just that. After all....Kuai Liang doesn't believe he's beyond saving. I do wish that story had been written and Armageddon hadn't happened.

I'm also completely open to a completely new Sub. Frost taking the mantle for herself in this new timeline would piss the community off good and proper. It'd be worth watching. :D
