An idea I've had for awhile now, is for one go with the unlockable characters still but make them pretty easy to accomplish. Use the more difficult unlockables be extra moves. Say each characters has 4 moves or so, but have maybe another 4 locked.
Second idea. Have unique special moves that ends a good combo automatically. Say a fire punch or a tornado dive after a 6-7 hit combo. And have it be a move that can't be done on it's own.
Example: In my head, MK8 would be a whole new cast. Yes scrap everyone! Almost. There would be one, and only one ninja. Have him decked out in just black. Maybe kinda like the ninja gaiden guy meets the outfits in Batman Begins, the league of shadow guys. Anyways, he has new moves and prolly have him throw a Kusarigama (sickle & chain) to grab the guy so Scorpion fans don't commit suicide. But his longest chain combo ends with a large roundhouse kick and he throws the real spear with the traditional Come Here. (yes meaning it's the real scorpion) It'd be a great reward for pulling off a hard combo. Integrating special moves into combos will help get rid of button mashers.
Third Idea. Give Scorpion the Dragon Medallion and get rid of Sub-Zero. MK8 needs to rejump the series with a whole new cast while still appeasing the damn ninja fans, so just combine them into one.

make animalities an actual mode like free fall in mk vs dcu but have it as a second fatality. heres the thought, in the current crossover...they have in game mini games like the new test your might system and free fall. instead have animality mode where the animalities are a fatality showdown mode. example being...lets say lui kang morphs into a dragon and he is facing lets say stryker. if stryker doesnt hit a certain button combo or interupt the morph after lui kang morphs he wont be able to tranform and defend himself. if he makes the button combo quick enough he can save himself from the animality finisher and morph aswell and have a fatality shodown as beasts. making this happen could be quite hard to do but the thought of it is kinda crazy but it would be kinda cool to see. it would be a neat way for the losing player to retaliate aswell. anyways,im kinda tired so i hope i explained this the way i see it in my head lol.
pictures scorpion morphing into a skeletal dragon....
edit: i dont know if it was mentioned but i have this idea currently...what about making a "MK Sandbox Fighter"? kinda like how Grand Theft Auto 4 is but an actual fighting game. instead of arenas have an actual world to fight in. an example: you choose your fighters and handi caps or whatever else, than instead of choosing an arena you choose a part of the world to fight in (similar to choosing areas on gta4 online). than and after the fight starts you can bring your fight into other areas as it progresses.

Well here is a cool character concept.
Rokur Gepta
Rokur Gepta, self proclaimed sorcerer of Tund (City in the Chaosrealm), was no sorcerer at all. Just a Croke spinning illusions. Thanks to Emperor Shao Kahn, Gepta could have ruled the realms, but he wasted it all in pursuit for Hotaru.
The Crokes are a species of small multilegged slugs hailing from the lost realm of Crakull. Some say Crokes merely fog minds; others claim their disguises are physical creations that can even cheat life.
Rokur Gepta's skills allowed him to infiltrate the secret cabla of dark sorcerers in the city of Tund. The sorcerors, believed to have originated during one of the Great Schisms between Dark and Light, had refined their beliefs by incorporating Havik's teachings. Gepta joined their society, learned their secrets, then annihilated them.
Even Havik was known to have studied the sorcerers prior to their destruction. He took a personal interest in Rokur Gepta, making him one of the most powerful individuals in the realms. Were Gepta's powers of illusion so great that he could deceive even Havik? Or did Havik simply admire the Croke's no-nonsense authority?
Regardless of the reason, Gepta received a talisman of Chaos. With the talisman, Gepta roamed the realms spreading chaos. He would occasionally return to irradiated Tund to meditate behind magical barriers.
Gepta's mastery of dark magic was incomplete at best. Like his appearance, many of his "powers" were illusory. But many politicians from the realms lived in fear of Gepta, including Governor Tallen of Seido in the Orderrealm. Gepta teamed up with Havik to obtain the legendary Mindharp of Sharu (a Chaos priest) by exploiting Hotaru. When the deal ended in disaster, Gepta declared a vendetta against Hotaru.
Gepta killed an Orderrealm government official named Oseon in Seido and arranged for Hotaru to make a delivery to the dead man's estate. Posing as Oseon, Gepta captured Hotaru and tortured him. Interference from a band of brigands allowed Hotaru to escape. Gepta again caught up to Hotaru during the Battle of Megaera (a providence in the Orderrealm). Gepta barged into the thick of the fighting and offered a solution: Gepta versus Hotaru, man to man in Mortal Kombat, with the fate of Megaera in the balance.
The two faced off on top of an Orderrealm building. During the duel, Hotaru used his Naginata to stab Gepta in the ankle, where the actual Croke lay nestled within his larger phantom form. The "body" of Gepta vanished, and Hotaru crushed the tiny Croke between his hands.

Hm...I don't have much to say actually man.
It's well thought out, and a good concept all around.
Personally, I like the idea of another character or two from the Chaos realm. I actually made up this black guy character from the Chaos realm, but I never completed him...
Anyway, sounds good. The idea of a sorcerer from the Chaos realm is scary//intriguing (lol)...Let alone the possibility of him faking everything about it. Seems just perfect for a character from there.
Hm...Oh, how do you pronounce his name? I don't think I like "Gepta", but that's the only stout dislike I have about any of it.

Thank you for your insights Pred. "Gepta" is basically pronounced the way it looks. With a hard G, not like a J. Gep like Yep and then Ta like Ya, lol. Hope that helped. Gepta was something that I debated about adding to Rokur. I couldn't make up my mind so I added it.
More concepts on the way.
Edit
Here is another character concept. Lately I’ve been working on the history between Chaos vs. Order. This concept has some Star Wars influences that I felt would be great for a Chaos vs. Order storyline.
Warmaster Tsavong Lah
The chaos creator god Yun-Yuuzhan sacrificed his body parts to birth the lesser chaos gods. In honor of this severe pantheon, Tsavong Lah has endured countless mutilations, but such devotion should come as no surprise. Tsavong Lah is warmaster.
The commander of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion effort and elite protector of Supreme Overlord Shimrra, Tsavong Lah has nearly duplicated the physical appearance of Yun-Yammka the Slayer, his patron god. And he has seen to it that the Chosen Land has provided many candidates for sacrifice. Hundreds of larval armor scales grow into the skin of Tsavong Lah’s torso, to provide him with extraordinary protection in battle. He carries a serpentine tsaisi, a half-length amphistaff as his baton of rank, and wields command from the chaos temple Sunulok.
Only two individuals have earned any measure of affection from Tsavong Lah: Havik and Harrar, a chaos priest who was once attached to Lah’s training. Khalee Lah, Tsavong’s son, acts as the warmaster’s henchman.
The hot blood of the warrior caste roars through Lah’s veins, and he shows nothing but contempt for the devious bureaucrats of the Orderrealm. He found his prejudices confirmed when the invasion stalled under the guidance of the Praetorite, and his warrior armies were forced to take up the reins. He assumed command following the defeat at Mount Helska in the Chaosrealm, and since then Lah has led his troops to such great victories as those at Ithor and Siosk in the Orderrealm.
The victories at Ithor and Siosk in the Orderrealm were directed by Nas Choka, Tsavong’s Supreme Commander. Disguised as a native monk, Choka sabotaged the refugee settlements at Ithor and Siosk to atone for his past failures in the eyes of Tsavong Lah. Meanwhile, Lah himself led a devastating assault on Ithor and Siosk that swept through the enemy as if it were vapor. Ithor and Siosk lay in fiery ruins and the deaths testifying to the glory of the chaos gods.
Dairou was among the survivors, and he was soon captured. The warmaster planned to make a special sacrifice out of such a worthy opponent, and tortured him to the brink of death. It was Hotaru that rescued him. Hotaru attacked Tsavong Lah with unchecked ferocity. Hotaru’s Lava Burst blasted Lah out a window and tore loose his left foot.
Standing painfully on the ruins of Ithor and Siosk, Lah demanded an ultimatum to the citizens of the Orderrealm. The warmaster promised to halt the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, in exchange for the lives of every Seidan guardsmen. One Seidan guardsmen in particular, the leader Hotaru, was declared worthy of a sacrifice to the chaos gods at Tsavong Lah’s own hands.
In a sacrificial ritual the warmaster fought and defeated a vua’sa creature, cutting a talon from the animal’s corpse to replace his lost foot. He then took on a new adviser: Vergere, a mutant from the Chaosrealm who had once belonged to a Yuuzhan Vong priest. Though Vergere’s appearance triggered revulsion in the warmaster’s heart, he recognized the value of his insight regarding the inhabitants of this realm. Lah dispatched Nas Choka and Vergere to capture Hotaru in Seido.
Once the war entered its third year, Supreme Overlord Shimrra called for decisive results. With a hint of trepidation, Lah authorized Battle Plan Seido. One Yuuzhan Vong war army was to advance on the Orderrealm capital from the direction of Reecee’ the other pincer was to strike from Borleias. Though Tsavong Lah lost his Reecee army in a shameful defeat, he boldly struck at Seido with only half his planned forces. The gamble paid off, for Seido’s defenses crumbled and Yuuzhan Vong shapers began remaking the world in the image of their gods. And Tsavong Lah prepared to govern the transformed realm.
Tsavong Lah was then confronted by a desperate Hotaru. Hotaru challenged Lah for Seido in Mortal Kombat. Lah overconfidently accepted. A long battle raged between the two. Lah finally kicked Hotaru down. Hotaru lay on his back near the edge of an Orderrealm waterfall. Lah took his serpentine tsaisi and raised it high. He was prone to strike down Hotaru. As Lah shouted ancient chaotic chants, Hotaru grabbed his Naginata and impaled Lah through the solar plexus. Hotaru pulled out the Naginata, and flipped Lah over the edge. Order was restored in Seido.

i think that you should add a place that is specially makes a death arena with two weapons on the sides that you can take and 5 death traps in the arena. then show shang sung and raiden sitting on chairs
Well, guys, I have an idea here for an MK game. So far, the title I got is Mortal Kombat: Rebirth and Destruction. I know that the story directly follows Armageddon, and it'd show some intensity as to what effects Armageddon had and continuation on some threads from the last trilogy and the original series itself.
So far, I've been working up bios and info, but I know returning characters would be both iconic to the Mortal Kombat series and also have a place added for the story.
In terms of new characters, only one has been done; and that is Kyon, a member of the Edenian Royal Guard who goes from being a soldier to becoming a hero over time.
I plan to make more new characters, as well as go along with the old characters coming back and the advancement of their storylines.
I hope this'll be OK. Once I got all the info I want, I'll post it all right here and BAM!! Game, set, match!

i think they should make a whole new round of charicters get rid of most of the old ones. make the charicters with ragdoll phisics instead of just a fall and get up. and instead of a walk around game make it with kinda a dynasty warriors thing where you make a empire. and bring chess kombat back with a new new mini game thats online the game will wait until it has 10 players and send them all out on a mini map and the last one standing gets 5000 gold or any method of money. have a krypt again but you have to get the key to the krypt.

Well, guys, for Mortal Kombat: Rebirth and Destruction, so far I've narrowed down the 60+ cast members from Armageddon into 24 numbers of returning characters. I plan to make 6 to 10 new characters to round to 34 or so, which is a fair number. As for returning kombatants, this is who's back, and in the order I drew them (I'll be uploadin' tonight, I hope!) and which costumes so far. :)
Baraka (1P costume)
Taven (1P costume)
Scorpion (1P costume)
Kitana (1P costume)
Liu Kang (1P costume)
Mileena (1P costume)
Shinnok (1P costume)
Sub-Zero (1P costume)
Sonya (1P costume)
Jax (1P costume)
Raiden (1P costume)
Bo' Rai Cho (1P costume)
Noob Saibot (2P costume. 1P would be his default costume in Deception/his alternate costume in Armageddon)
Kano (1P costume)
Li Mei (1P costume)
Johnny Cage (1P costume)
Daegon (1P costume)
Ashrah (1P costume)
Fujin (1P costume)
Dairou (1P costume)
Jade (1P costume)
Sareena (1P costume)
Kung Lao (1P costume)
and Reptile (2P costume. 1P would be his Shaolin Monks design/his default costume in Armageddon).
Not positive as to what the new characters'll be like or what the stories for the returning heroes will be, but I'll get to that after a gooood bit of thinking.
Bryon I had some ideas for 2 more additions to the returning cast, guys; and these're good for fan favorites if you ask me! :D Nightwolf and Ermac. :) I plan to design their 1P costumes and bring them with the others. And yet, I also know there was one other thread to work with for the story of Taven and Daegon; Rain, their half-brother. So he is another candidate. Man, this is so much harder than it was awhile back!!

I myself would like to see stuff from MK vs. DCU used, like Klose Kombat and Freefall Kombat. I also would love to see weapons like how Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks used them in both modes, as well as making use of the Fatality Stunner from there since it'd be fun to see as well as making it easier to perform Fatalities.
I feel making use of temporary weapons would be really fun since the versatility of weapons can be good, as long as you don't just integrate it into the core fighting system.
I know in terms of all in all regular kombat, I'd want to have some of the fighters to use realistic fighting styles, as well as some making use of their own versatile fighting styles, since I figure it could be lots of fun to do that, especially since balance would be something nice to show in an MK game.
Maximum Damage should also come back, just so 100% combos don't run rampant depending on the character, and we've seen how Deception and Armageddon are with combos.
I do think that MK would be fun with some of this stuff, and I did also think of bringing back the Aggressor system from Trilogy, but making it similar to the Rage system in Tekken 6 but it ends after sometime in many cases.

I think that MK9 should consist of konquest mode in which you design a character and through playing the game decide wether he/she is good or Evil.
You should be able to decide wether you want to koin a clan like the lin quie or the shaolin monks or wether you want to work for shao kahn and later betray him the game is completely up to you how you play and eventually you can either become protector of a realm or an Evil emporer .

For a new mk game, keep the kreate a kombatant mode. I would like to see Kabal in a new mortal kombat game. He can have the same fatality from mk3 when he takes off his mask and scare the person's soul. The arena I like to see is the kombat tomb from mk2. Also I would like to have shang tsung moprh into other fighters like he did in mk1-trilogy.

I have good ideas for 'lost' mk characters like tremor who was a boss for mk special forces and was originally planned to be on MK Trilogy but was replaced by rain.He was a brown ninja who wasnt really famous but i think it would be a great idea to include him in a future mk game
