And yes there are plenty of characters part of a gang or organization. Hell Kabal isn't even the most well known member of HIS organization.

Oh you mean his generic weapon? They don't make him stand out in MK amongst ALL the other weapons.

Generic projectile. Admittedly you got me on that ground saw thingy and the super speed though.

Anyway my point is that Kabal isn't terribly more original than Jax.

Also on that matter of iconic characters and making it towards the end. Lets not act like Scorpion or Sub-Zero are these massive giants tied to the lore of Mortal Kombat. They there characters that let you immobilize you opponent and get a free hit in and thus became popular. Popularity that has endured. Same for Kitana in MKII with the fan lift and Cyrax in MK3 with the net.
If someone else prefers another character over those because think they're somehow more developed or they've contributed to MK more than let them think that.

To say Story mode ruined Raiden for me would be a big fat understatement.

Also I'm sick to death of Raiden's superman and follow up combos. They're easy as fuck to block but the thing about it is that the worst Raiden players don't even stop the combo they just keep on going until the superman is blocked and they get punished.

Raiden's lost his flavor for some time now, Fujin in MK4 IMO was the best character of that game. I can't say the same for any game Raiden's been in.

Also, Fujin is the first ever side-character from a side-game/story that made it into an actual fighting game, and didn't take long entering MK4 as 1 of the first 3 newly introduced characters to the 1st 3D MK fighting game.

Then I look at it in another way, he let the Earthrealm warriors die at the hands of Sindel, as well as did what he did to Liu Kang, dude's losing it; therefore I pick Fujin!!!

Damn, I wish Fujin would've made MK9 roster or added as DLC, with it's fighting-mechanics he could've been made way better!

Well, I definitely do respect the two characters, for what it's worth, including what they provide for the series in terms of marketability and brand recognition. That's all indeed very important regardless of personal opinions or beliefs. It's not even a matter of disliking them! More so, it's the fact that I would be deeply bothered if it did come down to those two at the end, especially given that, well, everything came down to those two in the past, most recently and prominently pre-MK9's release. That's partially what I meant by "further than they have to", because they must make it far, factually-- I just would rather they be stopped there.

Anyway, that's all a lot of turnabout to (maybe needlessly) elaborate on what you said best: an unpredictable, at the very least interesting, finish would be spectacular.




That being said, I voted Fujin. The way Raiden was written in MK9 really turned me off, even more so than Sindel. Maybe it was an overdose of dramatic irony that made him seem so ineffective and kind of just "going through the motions" of a bad day as opposed to actively insightful, but it did such damage to his persona in my eyes that what I enjoyed about him in the past was kind of eroded. If this is the Raiden that I'd have to see in the next game, I would rather have Fujin take the spotlight.

Ouch, this one kinda hurt...

I liked his portrayal in MK9 and while I believe that Fujin has a lot of potential, I think Raiden is just much more interesting as a character, right now, since his personality change in MK9.

You mean that thing that hasnt been updated since one year? Please...I see more Mileenas online every day than all the Jades i have seen since i got the game. Mileena wasnt a popular "choice" in the beginning since she was one of the characters you actually had to LEARN first! Mileena is a beast in tournaments by pro players, online she was and still is useless by noobs who spam her specials which are some of the most punisheable in the game. All you had to do was block and punish...have you seen any Jade player go far in any tournament?? All two ones that is...lol. So dont mistake yourself, the fact that it is easier for noobs to win with Scorpion/Raiden/Cage/Sub Zero doesnt make Mileena any less popular as a "character"! She still is one of the most popular and recognizable ones...hell she is the poster girl of the series nowadays! To say that JADE is more popular than her is seriously a joke! It's like saying Noob is more popular than Sub Zero. I could understand ppl arguing over Mileena and Kitana who has actually played some part in the story...but Jade!?!? Really?? Your anecdotal evidence of "seeing more Milleenas online every day" and your completely irrelevant and likely baseless analysis of who tourney players are using (as if the characters that tourney players use has anything at all to do with who's more popular) aside, do you honestly realize how unreasonable you're sounding? Don't even remind me. Now I'm going to have to wait for 2016 or something to finally play as him. And they (NRS) keep teasing me. First he was shown in Liu's MKvsDC ending and now in MK2011's Kratos' ending.

As much as I like Fujin, I don't remember him doing much apart from being beaten up by Sub in MKM, being Raiden's replacement post-MK4 as Earthrealm's protector, and trying to stop Taven in MKA. He's always on the sidelines. I eagerly await the day when he takes a more active role in things.

Our resident Thunder god, despite his idiocy this time through, remains a beloved character. He's had too strong a history.

I say Raiden. But only barely.

I vote Fujin... To me Raiden is always just there. I don't understand what there is to like about him and I don't want to. Also, "Kitana! Your whole life is a lie, but I'm not going to help you figure out why! I'm just going to say it and then leave." What a douche. I don't like Fujin that much either but he's grown on me for reasons I'm not entirely certain of.... Also, since people keep spelling Fujin with a 'g', I'm calling him Fuggin from now on. (I know it's not pronounced that way, please don't try to educate me)

Just bcuz, mileena is played in tourneys doesn't mean that she's more popular overall. Jade sux in this game and that's widely known. That doesn't stop casual fans from playing as her tho. On top of that she's a good guy and casual fans cheer for the good guy most of the time whereas internet fans do the opposite. Mileena is better than jade in this game playwise, and she used to have a better
story, that could b argued now tho seeing that they screwed mileena all sorts of up in this game on that front.

Also mileena may have been the poster girl in deception, but not even near it in this game. That clearly goes to Sonya blade.
