Well I voted for Tremor. I'm sorry but I never seen the appeal of Jax. I honestly think the only reason they even still have Jax on the roster is because he's the only semi-popular black male in the series, he's really only just there to be racially diverse. Any chance the character ever had at growing on me he shot down with his "awwwwwh yeaaaaaah" machine gun quote in Deadly Alliance with his ghetto accent and ghetto alternate costume. I don't think the development team even know what they're doing with Jax. He's a waste of roster space if you ask me and I would much rather add in a Geokinetic Ninja into the series than keep this stale, uninspired and boring character in the series for any longer.

NoobSaibot5, I couldn't agree anymore. If it's about the color of skin, they should seriously focus on Kai, Jataaka, Tanya, Duroc, or someone new, both Jax and Darrius have completely lost their flavor.
Also, Tremor just busting out of the Special Forces base again to wreck more havok sounds pretty interesting. LOL, I know that he more than likely in the next few hours won't make it but it's amazing to see he's outdone most of the other 2nd runner-ups/losers and has NEVER been fully playable except Vita's promo of him.

And before someone turns around and goes "Where's that arguement coming from?", look no further than Jax's Alternate Costume in Deadly Alliance and Darrius's Alternate Costume in Deception. Jax is supposed to be a soldier, a scientist, and arguably one of the most physically powerful men on the planet and they dress him like 50cent for fucks sake, and Darrius is supposed to be a leader of a political movement in OrderRealm yet they dress him like a 70's disco king. I mean, I know Mortal Kombat's supposed to be a bit goofy, but seriously?? It's a bit of a mockery of both characters typecasting them like that in all fairness.
The only ethnic character with any real thought or emphasis put into their overall design and character is Jade, and at that, they have her living in Kitana's shadow since her debut. I agree with you completely, put more focus on the likes of Kai or Tanya, and ditch the dead weight. Ideally Jax should have been killed off in the invasion in the old canon, since they've done practically nothing of use with him since. They gave him a few interesting lines of dialogue in this story but ultimately, he still doesn't impress me. He doesn't stand out enough on the MK roster, he's always been a bit bland to me.
Meh, I loved Jax's MKDA alt costume, and Darrius' alternate as well.
But the games could do without him for a bit, since Jax is arguably among the least popular of the Iconic characters. (The reception he got when he was revealed in MKvsDCU comes to mind.) And he really wasn't interesting storywise until MKDA and MKA. If only they followed through with him becoming (more of) a cyborg and that chip Sektor implanted in his brain...

Hell, he's barely even iconic. When I think of iconic MK characters it's Goro, Mileena, Kitana, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Sonya, Raiden, maybe Liu Kang and Shao Kahn.... Then several other people before Jax.

I must admit, I've never really seen Jax play a major role in any of the games' stories.
He's always seemed to be apart of some side story of some sort, and never a really interesting story at that.
Then again, I've never really seen Sonya play a major role that often either, and she's regarded as one of the most iconic MK characters (which is most likely because she was the first female).

I agree that while Jax is iconic, he hasn't really been relevant plot-wise. But that's ok, doesn't bother me.
King from Tekken is one of the most iconic characters in the franchise, yet he is not relevant story-wise.
Jax isn't one of my favorites, but I do think he is pretty cool. I don't think a character has to be the most important to be iconic, just look at Scorpion and King.

You voted for Tremor BECAUSE you know Jax will win, right?
It's like saying "I eat oranges because everyone else likes apples", a very hipster way of thinking. It doesn't even sound like you like Tremor, it just sounds like you just want to go against what's "mainstream".
Is that how it is? Or do you actually prefer Tremor over Jax? Because if that's the case, then that's all the reason you need. ^^

Was that minded on me?
If so, I don't vote against Scorpion because he is popular. He is my least liked character of MK for many MANY other reasons.
- He's the only "real" ninja per real-life definition, yet he acts absolutely nothing like it. He wears bright yellow and screams all the time, he is no assassin, he's a hellish spectre, a bad copy of Ghost Rider, using fire and chains.
- His storyline is as bad and boring as they come. A man with a vengeance, fair enough, many characters start out like that. But Scorpion never evolves past it! He's had the goddamn same storyline throughout the entire series, but just with his thirst for revenge shifting targets now and then.
- His personality is one of my least liked stereotypical ones with his never-ending blind rage. It simply doesn't do it for me.
- The only move I like is his spear, because it is unique. No one else in any fighting game have a move quite like it... but that's the ONLY thing he's got going on for him. All his other moves are lame, his gameplay is repetetive and bland. Oh, I also like his newest fatality with the hell portals and his spear involved, but all his other fatalities have always been boring.
- Him and Sub-Zero have been showed down into our throats time and time again as the front figures of Mortal Kombat, but Scorpion alot more than Subbie. Subbie at least got some interesting storyline and gameplay going on for him, but Scorpion, due to him being Ed Boon's favourite, is on everything Mortal Kombat and if a character is chosen to represent MK, it is ALWAYS Scorpion which bores the fuck out of me.
So there you go, there are some other reasons why I dislike Scorpion and will vote against him. I find all other MK characters more interesting than Scorpion.
To respond to you liking Tremor - good for you! At least then it makes sense why you vote for him. However, to me Tremor might be my second least liked MK character (he's at the bottom 5 at least), so I rarely pay attention to conversations that has to do with him which also means that if you have stated you like Tremor in the past somewhere on this forum, then I have most likely just elegantly jumped over that post and not paid attention to it.

Just like you have the freedom to vote for whatever reason you wish, so does everyone else have the freedom to think about your decisions the way they want. If people think your reasoning is bad, then that is their opinion.
I have no problem with you either, I have no idea who you are to be honest, I merely found your reasoning (the one you first stated) to be odd and not making sense which is why I asked, but then you got very defensive and accused me for ONLY voting against Scorpion because he is popular and called me hypocrit which is NOT the case. Hence the explanation above.
