It doesn't NEED to be called Hydro Blade, I just prefer to call it that over Storm Sword as the two are two different things. One is an actual sword, the other is conjured by his powers.

The Kori Blade is also conjured by Subbie's powers, and because he can control ice and shape it any way he sees fit, he can make his Kori Blade look any way he wants it to. Because it is not an actual object.

You can call it Storm Sword if you wish, I just prefer to call it Hydro Blade, because it is more precise to what it actually is - a blade made of water.

No. Now, if Sub-Zero's iceball made you control them, and if Sub-Zero had a roundhouse kick, and if Nightwolf's lightning bolt was faster and struck three times.....no sorry he has no point.

Both are cool, but for once, I agree with the Mime-
I don't see any reason how the term "Storm Sword" can't apply to both the physical blade from MKA as well as this watery blade in MK9.

And I already said it in the reveal thread,
but I also hope he uses that in combos-
it's too awesome to be a Fatality-only thing!

However, I have a nasty feeling that this video would have shown such a thing.
Maybe they just want something "new" for the Vignette. Yeah, that must be it.

Well, we only saw some of the combos. Hopefully the Hydro Blade will appear in one or two combos, like Subbie does with his Kori Blade, but of course in a unique way.

@Jaded His gameplay trailer would've shown at least some use of the weapon, but it didn't, so.. I am disappoint.
