Rain's 2nd fatality fits because he has a "Aqua Sword" instead of Quan Chi's which doesn't fit him whatsoever. Quan Chi could've had a fatality involving his Sorcery or Necromancy! But NRS was too lazy(again) to come up with one. So all in all, Rain's 2nd fatality is better than Quan Chi's shitty 2nd fatality.

What do we call it?

Indeed, Quan Chi's X-Ray is one of the cooler ones, and his Leg Beat fatality is just classic... but that's about it. I don't like anything else about him in this game.

I've seen Rain's gameplay video enough to say that his intro has grown on me. This makes me like it even more.

When the trailer came out everyone was bitching about how his specials are copy and paste, and they are clearly not. People are way to quick to assume these things, they see similar animation and assume its the same move.

Skarletts blood ball anyone? From day 1 I knew that wasnt reptiles force ball (play as reptile alot) but everybody bitched because ... well there both balls lol.

It's his Storm Sword.

That's his Storm Sword he's holding. As you can see, it doesn't resemble the conjure Hydro Blade in his fatality. However, should NRS call it Storm Sword, I would happily accept it. But until we got an official name for it, I will call it Hydro Blade.

I can definitely understand the Story and Rain-replacement issues,
but I like his gameplay better than ever in MK9,
and he's actually one of my favorite characters in the game to use,
which surprised me quite a bit.

But yes- he should've been DLC with Rain in the game from the start.
I'm pretty sure Skarlet would have grabbed that spot ahead of Rain, though

Anyways, everytime I hear Mika's "Rain", I think about Rain. :P

On-topic though, In the Rain's bio thread, I had a thought. If Rain used his Hydro Blade in his combos, he'd resemble Vega from Street Fighter in many ways, being a narcissistic ninja-warrior fighting with a sort of katar. They're both rather flashy in their movements as well. Vega is a nother favourite of mine, so I definately wouldn't mind.

Don't know why it needs to be called a "hydro blade", when he's already had the term "storm sword" associated with him.

Sub-Zero's sword is still a Kori Blade despite it being smaller in the new game.

I do prefer the term Storm Sword.
