Do you honestly find it that dirty?

I think it's more cute than anything. It's not like she does anything other than a little spin.

Consider the following.

Mileena is the slutty one. She's also the horribly disfigured, nasty, evil little bitch who is just a wee bit unstable.

Kitana is the proper one. She's arguably the main female character (or Sonya could be considered that)

Jade could be called Kitana's sidekick. Unlike Kitana however, Jade isn't the princess, she isn't restricted, and she's a bit more exotic. Why shouldn't she have fun? Kitana is serious, Mileena is batshit crazy, why shouldn't Jade enjoy herself? Jade's win pose is sensual, not sexual. If you want sexual, watch a porno, this is not that. Jade is a sensual character, and I think that's a GOOD part of her character.

Women being sexy isn't degrading. I can guarantee there are plenty of women who agree, and shouldn't their opinion matter more?

Now, if Kitana and Jade were portrayed as being airheads and only damsels in distress? Then I could understand the outrage.

But if a character has sex appeal AND can beat the piss out of someone, and have a decent story, then IMO, they could go fully nude for all I care.

This isn't particularly sexy/dirty/skanky. It just feels unnecessary and out of place. It's just really random... like Kitana's wink. Neither are unjustifiable character wise (as people have said, Jade surely has a fun side etc)....

It just doesn't feel right for me. Not bad, but not right.

They already went sexy/provocative/seductive outfit with her. It just feels a bit... hackneyed... to use her staff to pole-dance + pose. Like I said, it just doesn't fit with what she's just done (that is, bit the livin' shit out of someone)

Really dont like the winnning pole-dance. Looks laughably bad IMO. Probably the worst victory pose yet.

This game's not doing much to bring Jade out of my bottom 5 five characters.

Honestly, I believe that they're doing these kinds of win poses to add some flare and differentiate the characters.

Sure, each character could do a generic pose, where they twirl their weapons or do some kung-fu movement, but that shit is boring.

No one gave a damn about any of Street Fighter IV's win poses. Why? Because they're just a bunch of generic kung-fu flips and punches.

People are noticing the vibrance of the personality portrayal in Mortal Kombat's win poses, regardless if they feel that the pose is appropriate for the character at all.

To me, this is just the developers showing off a little creativity and having some fun, and I thoroughly support and enjoy it.

Said somebody who likes Sub-Zero and Kitana YUCK and hates everybody that opposes Kitana for being cooler than the princess herself, thats a fact bitch.

Anyway Iove the Jade poledance, can't believe so many people dislike it, its original and fun. What else you want?

This is exactly how I feel, when I first saw it I laughed and was like cool pose, it's very unique but it's just so over the top.

I agree with those who say it doesn't work very well with the tone of this particular game. It would've fit in just fine in some of the other MK games though.

She seems like a playful, exotic and deadly character. I don't see what the problem is personally.

This wininnig pose wasn't neccesary at all. There should be some sort of limit how far you can go with certain things before they go tasteless and unneccesary. MK-Team was always wlaking on the edge with such things, but in this game they semmingly go over the edge in the bad sense of the word.


Looks like you don't now MK that much. In MKD Millena prety much got away from being evil Kitana clone and become a deceiving and cunning leader of the Edenian army.

It seems that both sides of this "debate" have been making caricatures of the arguments presented.

You're not a prude if you think MK has oversexualized its female characters. Guess what? It has.

Jade's winning animation does not scream harlotry. It's playful.

However, I object to consistently calling Jade an "exotic" warrior as if that's a form of empowerment. Yeah, because calling the only female of color in the cast "exotic" isn't problematic at all. *eye roll*

Also, sometimes the objectification of women as sexually dominant is a form of power, and sometimes it is not. Mortal Kombat oscillates between the two sides of this coin. That is to say, there can never be a definitive "answer" to the question of MK's sexism.

So IMO, denying the validity of the other side's point seems silly.
