It's kinda weird that vomit unsettles people yet no one bats an eye lid when Mileena rips someone's head off and eats their face. >_>

Anyway, Noob looks cool. I like the hood, reminds me of his MK4 alt. And Havik of course

I just had an idea:

On Noob ending on Armageddon it's said that the 2 personas of the original S-Zero (Bi-Han) and Noob himself fight for the control of the body...

What if the shadow that he is using so much is the real Noob possessing the body of Bi-Han that he found on netherealm?

Not a double standard. I hate that reptile fatality too. Puking just is not something that should be thought of in video games. As for it being "a natural part of the digestive system," as I said previously, so are several other things which, I think, unless you have some weird fetish, we all agree shouldn't be included either.

Sadly though, since Boon/Sanchez/Whoeverthef***else has a puke fetish, we all have to share in it too. If you're into that freaky s*** good for you. I'm not though, and it sucks that I have to abide it just to play a game I like.

I think the thing that sums up my feelings in general is that they're trying TOO hard to be "over the top" with the fatalities and the gore. It's not enough to just show a character dying and even cutting them to pieces isn't hardcore enough, so we have to have them doing disgusting things to the victim like doing some kind of sick puke porn move or burning them with a flaming fart (not this game, I know. Well... I hope not this game).

So what's next? How more can we humiliate the victim? Rape is the only thing they haven't put on the table so far. If you're okay with this, would you be okay with that? And if not, how do you justify one but not the other?

Just because I can tolerate more does not necessarily warrant fetishism. There are numerous middle grounds.

MK is not art, though rape has been portrayed in art multiple times. Rape of the Sabine Women from Cortona (painting) and Giambologna (statue in Florence), The Rape of Lucretia from Titian, hell there is a fighting game called Super Battle Raper - thanks Something Awful, I sure did need to know that - ... point is, if it serves a purpose, represenation of rape is okay. Depending of for WHAT you use it for.

That's not to say I want rape in any interactive form in MK. And there is a quite large distinction between using vomit as a weapon and rape. Agree on some parts on overkill. Sektors missile massacre is for me unquestionably meh.
That's exactly how I feel about interactive vomiting. Here it seems gratuitous, just as if Saibot whipped it out and started violating Jade from behind. We've seen characters kicked in the stomach numerous times without having to see vomit. Why now?

Maybe I'm just getting old. Back in my day, we just ripped out hearts and spines.

Laughably underwhelming given all the hype. Luckily I've developed somewhat of an immunity.

Overlooking that fact: excellent video. I've never been interested in Noob, and much as is becoming customary, they've cranked up the appeal of characters I haven't looked twice at in the past. His moves look excellent to say the least. Very visually pleasing to see him doing these dances with his doppelganger.

I'm also very apprehensive about the Disabler projectile. They better tone that shit way down. X-Ray isn't VERY impressive, but cool. Not a big fan of the projectile vomiting, but I guess it fits, so I'll just let it go. He looks great, one of the better ninjas so far.

I have to point out my disappointment with the erratic process surrounding these character trailers. It feels like they did it well enough for Jax, then skipped over a handful of characters to do it again for Noob months and months later. Meanwhile Jade, Sindel, Ermac, etc. are left in the dust and used as punching bags for Noob's big reveal. I'm not really sure what the strategy is here, NRS. It just so happens that every character in this game has their share of fans, and those fans would like to know a little more about their characters other than what they sound like getting hit.

Noob Saibot is definitely gonna be one of the safer characters...If Sub-Zero's or Reptile's slide gets blocked they're gonna be punished. But Noob Saibot sends his shadow to do the dirty work, and by the time that gets blocked Noob isn't open anymore. He also ducks to do one of his shadow moves, I'm not sure which one because every time he did it the opponent was really close. It kind of looks like it's anti-air.

someone pointed out that when Noob starts the x-ray he winds up a punch but there is a part missing. We don't actually see him hit Jade the first time. What are they hiding?

Because they can actually do stuff like that now since they couldn't do in the previous games.

Though I find this "vomit" argument to be completely pointless and shameful that it's even occurring right now. So someone throws up during a fight, it's during an X-Ray move for Heaven's sake... At times I think majority of the people who constantly complain about how they don't like this game, complain just to stir things up... I mean we've gone from arguing about the female cast's appearances, to NS's marketing system, to how things aren't going like MvC3, and now it's down to where we gotta argue about vomit.

My goodness, I'm afraid to see what mess comes about during the next big news release. Here's a clear thing to do... You don't like it, then don't play as it.

You don't like Noob's X-Ray, then don't play as him, and hope that no one performs it on you. This non-stop complaining about how things are looking for this game I find rather funny because honestly, this is how they wanted to make MK for the longest time. Now that they have the opportunity to finally give us THE Mortal Kombat, they're going to go to more of an extreme with it. If it has to show us organs being ripped out to vomit, then do so.

It's Mortal Kombat... One of the games that introduced to us the Mature rating system back in the 90s, a game that redefined fighting. This is what they've wanted to show us for a long time. And now that they have the opportunity to do so, they're giving it to us. If you don't like it, then honestly, don't buy the game. But if so, then just bear with what you don't like and see if you can overcome it. That's what I've been doing and the only complaint that I've made is just how some females look in this game... I've overcame that complaint because it's silly. This vomit thing is silly.

So, my hands hurt from typing I'm going to end it here with... Hinkle finkle dinkle doo.

HOLY CRAP! so I guess this means that I have to use him in every tag team I use huh?

I love the clone moves and his win pose is completley badass. I also find it interesting how he doesn't even consider himself brothers with kua liang despite his deception ending showing that he still considers them family. I also love the look, reminds me of the lin kuei foot soldiers in armageddon.

True, but it did broke the net.

Also, Ed tweeted: RT @only1mjp @noobde Amazing! Why are there two noobs? Noobde: No, no, no.... one is Noob, the other is Saibot.

So the shadow is Saibot, omg maybe tobias has gave him the green light on the name!

Ok, so in the trailer Noob Saibot says that he and Sub-Zero aren't brothers but are from the same blood? Does that mean this Sub-Zero is a clone Noob-Saibot since Noob Saibot is the original Sub-Zero. What does that mean what Noob said in the beginning of the trailer?

A thought just occurred to me. How weird would this character have been had the creators of Mortal Kombat been John Vogel and Dan Forden.

Nedrof Legov?

... They're brothers, always have been. Even in Sub-Zero's one trailer it talks about them being brothers.

Sub-Zero's name is being held by the younger brother. He was once known as Tundra.

Noob was the original Sub-Zero and because he was killed and is turned into that... He is now Noob.

It means Noobz doesn't consider Subz a brother even though they are.

So you really think Jade, Smoke, and Noob will be mindless drones with no personalities? That's pretty much how they were in MKII...

Why would anyone think that? Because they didn't have endings or bios? Being that Reptile didn't have either of those things in MK1 yet now has a story role in the first tournament should dispel any worry about the MK2 hidden characters being drones.

With the Trilogy/UMK3 ending data plus a little common sense, it isn't difficult to narrow down Smoke's and Jade's role in MK2 anyway.

Loving the look for Noob!! Awesome job.

Just a question, and if it has already been asked, sorry, I am too lazy to sort through 9 pages of a thread. If they release a flat-black alternate more akin to his MK2-MK3 looks, would you get it? Sad as it is, I probably would...

There's more than one meaning to the word "brother". It doesn't just mean biological sibling, it also means someone you consider as close as a brother, or a fellow member of a fraternity.

Noob Saibot's old life as Sub-Zero no longer has any meaning to him. As far as he's concerned, he's a completely different person and all ties have been cut.

Furthermore, he is a member of the Brotherhood of the Shadow. To him, his "brothers" would be other members of the "brotherhood".

THAT is why he'd say something like "we share blood but we're not brothers" to Younger Subbie.

You missed the point completely. Before going bankrupted, Midway had little time to work on the games they wanted to put a lot of effort in. Was why Armageddon was nothing but a shithole. Deadly Alliance had a lot of good things, but time was not their friend, as well as during Deception. These games felt rushed, and they were. Now that they actually have the time to do what they wanted to do but couldn't have done it in previous games due to lack of time, they're going to go overboard with these sort of things.

But wait... there's something missing in this entire argument of... Vomit..

There were other characters that threw up in the game besides him... Aka... Anyone that had Sonya performing her fatality on you as well as Kitana back in Deadly Alliance. So everyone threw up.

So, that's not being mentioned but just Bo' Rai Cho's move in general and the fact that someone is getting their ass kicked to a point where they vomit? Come on...
