Too late... it's already been done.

Well if he gets to apply dirty otaku tropes in places where it doesn't have any relevance, then when are we going to start having conversations about what kinds of extra-curricular activities the Soul Chamber's new living, moving parts get up to when the camera isn't looking? Because I have just GOT to be here for that thread.

...I don't think I wanna be here when we start talking about what the Soul Chamber's living parts does in it's free time. Nothing personal.

Yeah, about that... that's also kind of an anime thing. A common theme in hentai is for two really close peers who share a sibling-like relationship to discover that they're actually attracted to each other, often occurring between two childhood friends (sometimes the characters are quite literally siblings). It's kind of a genre at this point. Not saying this is what NRS was going for, but it adds to the distortion.
BTW, I don't watch hentai; I don't play Japanese date simulators. It's really important to me that you all know and believe that. After years of hanging around otakus and casually watching anime, you just kinda pick this shit up.

What's it take to make the thread go Gold?

Seeing Scorpion in a thong and sliding down a stripper pole like Jade.

I saw this fan art on Deviant Art, yesterday, I liked it; it was creative and funny, no need to look deeply into it.
I'm not sure if I can take this thread too seriously.
First of all look at what we’re discussing; we’re taking about the possible or not possible sexual orientation of fictional character based on the mere fact that he has decent hair (not animated well but decent none the less. ) ....was there really nothing else that interesting to talk about today?
It’s pretty clear that Sub-Zero and Smoke are as close as brothers just Kitana and Jade are as close as sisters. Ya really can’t look into it more than that.
Someone mentioned this in another thread about the characters orientation and I just happen to agree to with it. and based on some of the answers I’ve seen, I honestly think that some of you are putting what you ‘want’ to see into it
but still in the end it’s one to each their own.
one last thing and this is in general, I’ve noticed lately in fandom’s; Fans don’t need any basis for crack orientation/personalities/pairing’s now, they just do it anyway, Joking or not joking.

There's a difference between "long hair" and "long hair with short, girly bangs in the front".
As a long-haired man myself, I want to emphasize this point.
Besides, no one ever says Liu Kang, Shang Tsung, or any of the many, many other long haired male characters look feminine or gay. It's the bangs that are doing it.

Also worthy of note:
His fighting stance is suspiciously limp-wristed.
His very basic 1,1 combo is a double bitch-slap.
Just saying that it may not take Scooby Doo to solve this mystery.

Oh, come on. Smoke isn't nearly as gay as Meat...

Not to mention his obvious use of L'Oreal shampoo. Smoke has that nice Beyoncé hair.

Including a token gay character in a game with such a wafer-thin plot, where sexual orientation means absolutely nothing would be nothing short of stupid.

^^^ lmfao! I seriously can't stop laughing.. anyways I think rain makes a better gay than smoke.... although rain may definitely have some damn competition on his hands.... I think they need to Vogue to the death in mortal kombat! and see who is best... in all seriousness I never considered rain or smoke to be gay although I must say even Sonya had a more masculine run that smoke lol

In some places of the web, they ARE considered gay.
Smoke just have some obvious features that has made it a popular thought to see him as gay.
I think you are looking way to deep into this. Tough his winning pose is kinda..uhmm..how would you say.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v;=GuJQSAiODqI#t=100s
