The one thing that struck's me is how some people can be so sensitive and against this type of idea not because "it doesn't matter in MK", but, because "its gay". Seriously.

Granted, having long anime-style hair, running in a girly-like kind of way, and a close relationship with your hetero friend does not = gay, but, stereotypes tend to (sadly) rule part of the world so, it wouldn't be surprising if something was to be made out of those stereotypes.

I wouldn't mind a gay character who is subtle in "stereotypes" and awesome. Dumbledore, from Harry Potter, being one great example.

I'm also on the side of the fence who feel that romance and relationships can enrich the story of the game if played properly.

Finally, the first thing that came to my mind when reading the topic of this thread was Smoke's girly run towards Cyber Sub-Zero at the end of Kabal's chapter.

Smoke "feels gay" just like Johnny Cage "feels gay" as well. And I mean this is an awesome and cool kind of way.

That picture isn't about him being gay, it saying he's the most attractive male in MK, the artist description even says so.

Oh, my apology's, I thought this was a public forum. I didn't realise people had the right to declare a thread as sovereign soil or off limits to people with a different perspective. I mean I guess I was assuming tolerance is a two way street.

If you want people to take the gay community seriously then you can't make threads like this with giant tags of "Stay out if you have a problem with this." because it just makes you seem sort of selfish and arrogant. You want tolerance, earn it. Waxing idiotic about how gay Smoke looks sets us back not forwards. Being exclusive about who gets to post in a gay thread sets us back even further.

If someone were to come into this thread and start bashing lgbt people, everyone would over react sort of like you and zero have already done to me. There is no perseverance there. You haven't stopped hate or ignorance, you spread it. You sepreate us from everyone else.

So sorry if I pissed all over your thread, but at least the gaymers thread wasn't exclusive to the gay community. If I was straight and read "...Stay out if you got a problem with this." then I'd stay out regardless of whether or not I was ok with gay talk. Chances are I'd go into that thread and see people talking about gay stereotypes and making lame jokes. And in that case I would be correct. I guess I'm starting to see why people confuse lgbt people as perverts. I mean after all the straight community isn't making topics based Sonya's sexuality with a "Straight talk, stay out with you have a problem with this" tag and then proceeding to talk about the size of her vagina inside.

Thibideau, of course everyone are welcome to reply, but I made the "warning" in the thread title, because I want a mature, healthy debate about this topic, and I know some people are rather sensitive when it comes to talking about homosexuality which usually ends up in immature and needless replies.

This thread, however, is not about Gaymers. Therefore it is not in the Gaymer's thread. This is about Smoke and how some fans percieve him as homosexual, or with homosexual tendencies.

There's not just ONE thread about Scorpion, there's not just ONE thread about character design, there's not just ONE thread about gameplay, there's not just ONE thread about the storyline... So why should there only be ONE thread about debating about something that has to do with homosexuality? If you are homophobic and just want everything gay to be away from you, then you are one of the people who I asked to stay out of this thread. Simple as that.

The problem being that you've ended up with those immature and needless replies anyways. That tag is a bullseye for the simple minded to stir shit up.

Secondly because I've taken a stance against this thread, I've been called lliterate, Arrogant, and Selfish, plus it's been implied that some how I'm a bigot for taking that stance. I'm sorry, I understand what this topic is about but in my eyes it just sets the gay community further away from the rest of MKO. Yeah Smoke is a pretty boy, how we get from there to people talking about scorpion pole dancing and Smoke's feminine running is the problem. If we can't take ourselves seriously how do we expect other people to.

I am in no way intending to drive the gay community away from MKO, not at all, I want to make it closer... but that means that those of MKO who aren't gay have to accept that there are gay people wanting to talk about gay things related to Mortal Kombat. It's a two-way street.

I just know that there are some people on this forum who are touchy about subjects like these, and thus I put up a fair warning. Everyone can join in on the discussion, this topic is not JUST for gaymers, it's for everyone. The topic itself contains homosexual content, however, and thus I made the tag in the thread title.

I could delete the tag, but then I know there will be people who feel like I should put up a warning, because they are case-sensitive.

If you disagree with the topic, then you are free to do so, but don't tell me not to make topics like these as I find them relevant and interesting to talk about. I did not break any of the rules by making this and I am in all my right to make a topic like this, and it SHOULD not offend anyone... ...Because not everybody on this forum cares about the fighting and violence and likes the story and mythos more than just mindlessly mashing buttons to kick somebody else's ass?...I'm guessing? IDK, I'm just interested in every aspect of the series, be it story, gameplay, whatever.
...And considering it's practically impossible for the majority of the Kombatants to even be in the series without being, y'know, Born, I would say yes, there IS in fact time to fuck in the Mortal Kombat universe...Except for the Gods, they were all Big Banged into existence, I'm guessing.
