I was one of the lucky ones in the first tourney to get my KAK drawn by Jax007. Keilenaten looked so badass. He did a wonderful job. Too bad my old laptop broke and the pix stayed there, so now I don't have her. Good thing Jax007 is searching in his old files, since it was back in 05.

I just have a blurred image of Keilenaten now, which I entered this KAK. Hope he can draw her again. I miss Keilenaten.

JAX007 actually had his render of Rain mistaken for concept art for the upcoming DLC. The official Mortal Kombat twitter retweeted the picture saying that even though it was wasn't for the new Rain, it was excellent fan art.

*My favorite costume for Krimson is her alternate. And I think many will like that better. Also, there is exposure of her cleavage, but not skanky, imo..

*Her story may seem somewhat unoriginal, but I think it's appropriate if MK9 was her debut appearance. Also, there's a line that indirectly mentions something that isn't referenced in MK9, but was present in the old timeline...

Kuwinda's primary costume:

As a Jangwan Female, Kuwinda's attire suits the harsh heat and terrain of the desert. Her outfit is practical (she still gets the job done wearing it), and still shows just enough of that perfect light mocha skin without her coming across as sleazy. I was attempting to make a Xena Warrior/Tribal Warrior vibed ensemble when I designed her outfit.

She wears a torn and freyed golden brown coloured sports bra that has a brown leather belt going across her cleavage. The belt has a golden harness in the centre of it as it's clasp, and it functions as a harness (which also extends up to her shoulders) that supports her shoulder armour. Her armour is gold rimmed and angular, with an ochre coloured dragon scale pattern in the centre. Her boots are similar, with the same ochre coloured scales and golden kneepads.

On her waist, she has two similar belts from her chestpiece that descend down to the naval and have a tattered and freyed golden brown loincloth with a matching pair of hotpants beneath them. On her right leg, she has two brown leather straps that sheathes a hunting dagger on her leg. Her armguards are a pair of golden ringed bracers and her upper arms are decorated in the white markings of an established Jangwan Hunter.

Her neck is protected by a decorated brown and black choker, which has four golden engraved disks that descend onto her cleavage. In this form, Kuwinda is unmasked, and wears a headpiece designed in a similar fashion to her choker. Her lips are a luscious chocolate brown, her eyeshadow smoked and mysterious, and her chocoalte brown hair falls down into a long ponytail which reaches her hips.Like her arms, she also wears warpaint on her face, which in contrast to her dark makeup, makes her all the more visually stunning and impressionable. Normally, her right side of her face is covered ala Jessica Rabbit from a long segment of hair coming from her fringe, however in the concept art designed for her I decided to have it flowing out of the way of her face so you can see her better.


Alternate Outfit:

Designed to be more of a Tribal African influenced Ninja, Kuwinda wears a brown headwrap which extends down over her face to give her a masked look. As well as concealing her identity, it also gives her additional protection during the extreme sandstorms of the Jangwan plains. The headwrap flows down into two segments, one shorter than the other, which flows behind her as she fights. With her exposed eyes Kuwinda has traded her dark make up for two vertical fanged stipes of white warpaint. She wears the same neckpiece as she did in her Primary Outfit.

Trading her two piece outfit for something more familiar, Kuwinda sports a dark brown leotard, which has horizontal claw scratches going across her cleavage that shows her skin tone beneath the suit. She also has two horizontal segments missing on the sides of the leotard (think of the stripes on the side of Wolverine's yellow and black outfit for a better idea). Her lower arms are covered by armguards that are black with golden ridges, similar to that of traditional african shields. She also has arm bands similar to Mileena's Deception alternate, although they are coloured to blend in with her colour scheme and also have her own insignia on them.

Her leather belt has two golden, engraved ornaments as it's clasps that hold up two drooping pieces of brown fabric which connect behind her to form an open front skirt. The hem of the skirt at the back is frayed and tattered, and her legs are marked with the same symbol she previously had on her arms. Her boots are made from an animal hide which appears to be similar to deer, and are bound by black criss-crossed straps which hold them to her legs. With this outfit, I tried to incorporate originality and distinctiveness into a look which has long been established with the traditional MK Female. The brown and golden hues in her outfit (and also in her primary outfit) are reflective of the world she's come from, similar to how Noob Saibot's black garb reflects the darkness of the Nether Realm. I wanted to make an outfit that had the "ninja" theme to it, yet was still true to who Kuwinda was as a character and reflected her nature and culture.

The good news is that after 7 straight days of non-MKO work, I finally have a day off. So I will have the time to devote to the site while I'm not asleep. I doubt I get it up tonight, but some time during the day tomorrow is fairly likely.

Great news Crow...I am sure I am not the only one just a tiny bit impatient. I have seen some posting tidbits,even posting images and so on. I have been trying to get some answers from you about posting images and extended story and all that was not in entry. I do not want to get disqualified or anything.

For everyone, a fact about Luna...Some have thought she may be Alien but she is not. She is actually inspired by 2 characters from the MK universe. Her image is inspired mostly from Nightwolf but her being is similar to Ermac. I shall explain more when everything is revealed.

Awesome news. I bet none of the users have ever been this excited about the KAK tournaments in previous years. 96 characters makes it a lot more interesting.

I understand there are character pages with pictures to upload and all... but what details are going into the bracket details information? Just wondering. Keep up the great work Crow!

I've been wanting to throw my pictures of Ravyn up on my DA account but will hold off until the tourney starts.

I've been flip-flopping on that. I think at the moment I've decided to use this topic as the general discussion one (talk about the contest, talk about the results, etc.) and I'll create another that's the actual voting topic which I will edit daily to update which matches are currently running. Thirdly, I will create an interaction topic in the Fan Sub forum for those that requests a RP type outlet.

Role playing as our characters? Sweet! Count me in!

I too wound enjoy getting into RP as my monstrous warrior queen.

Although what makes me laugh is considering the social aspect of the tournament now. In between rounds are the characters going to a green room with iced tea and cupcakes? or maybe the beach?

Annette is definitely on the beach right now. They're like pokemon... We put them in little themed boxes on our computers. I have Annette in my beach box where she can canoodle with other shellfish when she's not fighting for her life.

My character demands his trailer to be filled with cocaine and prostitutes. He also demands the dead hookers to be removed. And no he isn't Charlie Sheen.

Status report: All but two characters are completed .The two that aren't completed are in PDF files, so I will have to do some extra work to convert those materials over... beyond that, all I have left to do is upload all your images to the server, which shouldn't take too long. I'm pretty confident I will be able to reveal everything later today and begin voting tomorrow (this allows people to read over some of the characters and allows me to check for any mistakes I may have made or correct special character issues).
