Match 1: Kortika
Match 2: Revenant
Match 3: Neuros

As for the voting dropout, I've noticed MANY of the KAKs seem to be submitted by new users who most likely only joined to submit characters. It could be that these users aren't that active, so they don't come on to vote that much. It seems many of them only care about whether or not their character wins, and not the competition itself. And I said MANY, not ALL...there are certainly some new users with entries who vote regularly and provide feedback and support to the competition.

lol..well I'm not particularly good at MK and yes I remember our fights, pretty evenly matched just like in this contest.. Karundi is rather innovative I must admit.

Sometimes the voting seriously puzzles me...

If I may ask, how so?

As Ultimatesavage said, there have been many characters that got through that I didn't vote for, and it just puzzles me. There have certainly been some very good matches where the character I didn't vote for was put through and I didn't care bc both characters were pretty even, but there are certainly some head scratchers. And even if a "bad" character doesn't get through, it still baffles me how some people choose them over another....I'm not gonna name any names right now, and I'm not exclusively referring to this round...it's just something that bugs me...

A character that gets less than a 3 out of 5 in my ratings is picked over a character that gets a 4 out of 5? Maybe people just see something I don't....In regards to this round, the match I'm referring to should go to the character I voted for no problem, but I am surprised their his opponent has got as many votes as they do....

Oh well, to each their own. grin

Yes I agree, There were certainly some very puzzling matches thus far, perhaps people feel more relatable to said characters. There's been quite a few close call match ups that I thought would be in the bag for certain characters, but like you said to each their own.

Bracket 1 - Chi Zong, though it was very close. Both characters were well thought out

Bracket 2 - Neither, for the same reason as Sanguinius. Both seem bland, unimaginative, and have nothing that makes me want either to advance. Sorry if that seems harsh.

Bracket 3 - Neuros as he was the more fleshed out of the two and had the more appealing backstory to me.

Shoulda known better than to make some one funny, *sigh* At least I was creative and gave my character some actual interesting features. I tried to combine the best parts of Jax, Shang tsung, and Havik but failed miserably, I literally got a zero, it would have made my day if I atleast got a 1. At least I lost to a good opponent.

Just wanted to make it clear that he wasn't a joke character, people nowadays think any character with comedic personalities are joke characters. A joke character is some one who has comedic traits AND isnt really good at what they are supposed to be doing. For example Dan Hibiki, he's clumsy and he can't fight, but he's in a fighting tournament. People think
Johnny cage and Havik are joke characters, they aren't. They are not, calling Johnny cage joke is like calling him Dan. Now if Cage sounder like Gilbert gottfried and was short, fat and couldn't fight he would be a joke character.

Anyway, it was fun and I'm glad I at least got, well technically I got a 0.

:(

I guess what I'm trying to say is, my character wasn't a joke character, he just had comedic aspects. And everyone seems to think that funny = joke now so a lot of people said "MK already has enough joke characters" which really tick'd me off.

Karundi is an interesting character with innovative fatalities and specials and a very quirky personality, which you highlighted rather well. I thought he was a very outside the box character, which was a good thing and the community was heavily divided as the record shows. Karundi is a worthwhile character, I certainly wouldn't be discouraged. In all honesty, I think humor is a great character trait, one that is lacking from the roster, Johnny does a great job of adding humor to matches, while still being a serious character.

I apreciate the compliment though.

I know, but that "0" was like a middle finger covered in shit, and the judges just shoved it up my nose.

I think round two will fair better as people will know that most are at least interesting or worth reading.

I think if you do another kak maybe screen the entries using the four judges, and cut it to 32.

Just way too many to read, especially when you see crab men from the moon and shit like that.

I wouldn't worry about your "zero" score, as that doesn't really tell a lot about a match. Karundi was not a bad character, like you said you just had a good opponent. Once I get to your character I'll give him a review; personally speaking, I didn't vote against him because I felt he was a "joke".

That said, I hope you don't stop voting just because your character was eliminated.

Match 1: Kortika.

By barely. What got this was the moves. They have grown on me, especially like the head cannon i think it was called. Kool x ray 2. I liked Chi Zongs appearance and would fit in well, especially where you placed him in relation to Edenian society. Moves felt recylced tho.

Match 2: Revenant.

I liked a little more about this character than Snow, but neither of these struck me the right way.

Match 3: Neuros:

Man this wan was crazy tough to decide. In the end, Neuros just feels stronger to me as a viable and playable character for the game, but Psyria would be an awesome spotlight like as one of the Elders or something. I like the way you (Psyria's creator) encorperated multiple elements of nature into one character. Really creative, nasty fatalaties and great story. I think both of these characters are game worthy and this one was awesome to go back and forth with.

I really enjoyed this round, maybe only cuz Im up next! Gonna be fun either way, but hope Im not sent packing early.

As someone said earlier about people registering specifically for the contest then being absent participants, I think that is very likely true. I'd lurked on these forums for a month before the k-a-k showed up. I finally decided to register so I could enter it. Of course, while I was creating my girl I spent time around the forums, having my opinions denied, etc... And now I visit regularly for purposes entirely outside of the contest. Usually to be scolded for thinking out loud, for better or worse, and I plan on doing so long after the contest is over. Point being, I definitely think I was not the only one registering to enter the contest, just that many others may not have stuck around.

1.Kortika
2.None
3.Neuros

And here's why:

Kortika:
Didn't like that his hands transform. Enjoy that he is crablike, because I do love shellfish, though I'm not fond of the use of lava... I don't see why a sea dwelling crab man would have lava powers... Does he make islands in his spare time? The rock moves were interesting though, I particularly liked "Rock Wall". The story was a bit bland, but somewhat less bland than some others.

Chi Zong:
Hmmm.. I wish the special moves were more detailed, and a tad more creative. The second fatality was icky, and that's precisely what a fatality should be. Story wise I found him a bit lacking, but I think my standards might be a tad high for MK. I mean... Half the existing characters in the series have much worse stories than this so.... Eh.

This one was tough, I found the two to be equally good and bad.

I think I'm going to go with Kortika, somewhat in hopes that he and Krustacean will face off one on one, and somewhat because I'm partial to crabs.

Revenant:
First thought: Too young, would be absolutely slaughtered by the more experienced fighters. This makes him impractical to me, as not only is he too young to have the necessary combat experience, but he is likely to be quite bad at his supernatural techniques as well. I'd age him a decade and move on from there. The fatalities are on the weaker side, in my opinion, that paired with a sort of nonsensical story kind of seal the deal with this character. I don't want to be harsh, but the character simply doesn't rise above mediocrity.

Snow:
Hmmm... The moves are unoriginal, simple as that. Frozen Roll is interesting, and with it being short ranged I don't feel like it is just an enhanced version of all the other rolls we already have in the game.... How, precisely, do drunk babies hit the floor? I'd like more explanation on that subject.

I don't really think much thought was put into the ending, so story wise this guy falls flat for me.

... I have no idea how to make this decision. I do not think Revenant in his current state can be applied practically, and Snow was derivative and lacked effort. No vote.

Psyria:
One of the rare members of the fourth gender, "god", now this is interesting. Her costumes are a bit generic, but it's not that big of a deal. I like most of her special moves, and her "big wooden spears", because the voice in my mind that says "big wooden spears" pronounces the o's like "poop" instead of "wood". The x-ray is nice too, and the fatalities are passable. Her story is kind of a non-story... That is, nothing of note happens.... And there's that gosh darn Quan Chi sticking his nose in it, which I am deducting points for now... He shows up too often. All in all, she doesn't really make a big impact, even with her big wooden spears, big glass vial of big healing powers, and her big rage.

Neuros:
Not much needs to be said... He wins.

I feel like such a bitch right now, but I felt the need to be harsh here for whatever reason.
