I love making these edits for MK, so I'll probably keep doing different characters little by little.
The original plan when I started with Kun Lao was to learn how to program for mugen and whatever else, so I can put my own characters in it. The 3D models I make, to have an original game.
I'm using MKP like a sketch pad for ideas and experience in the mean time.
I'd love to get some of these models in to a custom game. I've been working on doing that with the Fighter in the upper left so far.
I want to do it in HD though, mugen doesn't let you do that with characters. I've been going through flash tutorials, to see if I can do it that way instead...

That's not really HD, the sprites for dragon claw are as small as normal mugen characters.
I'm talking about sprites that are like 5 or 6 inches tall.

Holy crap, you gave Raiden an intro animation! I've been wanting that sort of thing in the other games since they had the bowing in MK4.
Bringing back the electricity crawling over him when he's standing still is a beautiful touch too.

I figured out how to make HD sprites in Mugen, there is a limit to how large the sprites can be and still look good, but It's much better than before.
Thing is the regular MK sprites are Low res, so I can't do much for that, but I have other plans.

Okay, I love what you did with the combos about 4min in. Holy shit that's looks like an intense transaction.
I too love how you used the ice with those kind of natural properties, and the clone//slide//clone thing is wonderful.
I think you should try integrating freezing//frozen punches and or kicks during the combo aprox 4-4:40min in. Little special moves that happen during the combo process (forearm freezes and the ice breaks up one the hit connects//leg..ect), but that don't necessarily end the combo. Ending the combo with one of these little (powerful) specials would be the icing on the cake. But I'm more interested in what kind of move that would be during the combo, what that would take to make happen (if it would even work), and what the end result would look like..

EX punch = arm covered in ice
Instead or a normal combo ender, he can do something with the corry blade instead?
Those alterations could be done like pro moves.
I guess I could do something like the combo enders in Killer Instinct, or super combos from King of Fighters which would be like a brutality.

I'm looking at MkvsDc Sub-Zeros ice breakage effects, and wondering what that might have looked like, had an effect like that been applied with the earlier sprites, and during a combo.
Like being hit in the face with a glass that shatters on contact...but I continue through a combo like the one you made aprox 4-4:40min in.
Right punch,Left punch,Left kick,*right arm freezes in process* - right hook - *smash!*, left hook, ect ect..w/e, w/e, round house or something to send opponent flying across screen.
Can't find anything close to what it might look like. Well, there's that scene from MkvsDc, where SZ freezes Batmans arm, and then Batman smashes his fist into the ground to break the ice...
The ground, would be your opponents face in this instance, and it could happen during a combo sequence without stopping the completion of the combo from happening.

A new move I'm working on, specific interaction between Sub Zero and Scorpion.
Scorp can destroy the clones, and Sub will be able to destroy the spear.
Or destroy the rope and use the spear for a counter attack.


Can anyone destroy his ice-clones? So I'm guessing none of them freeze the opponent just by touching them anymore?
I'm liking how people can break out of Subby's freeze attacks, do they have to button-mash it or something?
One thing I'm worrying about is Subzero become too "godly" -- unless everyone is going to be upgraded to the same level as him, all those extra ice-clone variations would make him nearly impossible to beat. Unless there was a way of countering all of them?

Oh that move has awesome written all over it. I love the vid too. Being able to recover mid-air stuck out, as well as the use of the clones and the back slide.
I liked the ice shots fatality too, it's mostly about how straight forward it is. But I wonder. Have you thought of making Sub's movie fatality come to life? MK1 movie SZ vs Liu Kang with the big ice bubble thing.

I agree with everyone else, the realistic physics of the ice moves are awesome. I like how you even have them getting knocked over if you freeze them twice, instead of that backfire effect the games have, which never made sense.
Although...
I think the Deep Freeze fatality could use a lot more debris and gore. It just seems right now that the pieces go flying too quick and are a lot less mass than the body they exploded from.
(I also still think Liu should have a teleport or TP-attack like Raiden's made from his MK3 finisher, and Scorp's backflip kick needs fire, but you're the programmer, not me...)

The Standing clones can be countered by any character, and you can't chain one freeze to any other type of freeze. the effect will be a knock down instead.
I haven't added the interactive effect to the aerial clones.
If you knock a standing clone toward the opponent, it will only freeze them if they are not in the air, if they aren't already frozen, and if they are not in an attacking state.
The air freeze clone works like normal games, only the freeze time is shorter.
The Back dash clone can be done once, every 10 seconds. If I let the player do the move too quick one after the other, the two clone combo makes Sub way over powered.
The time limit lets you do sort of a super effect, but not too often, so it tones him down a lot.
To break out of a standing freeze state, you have to mash LP. Like escaping a holding throw in Street Fighter.
I'm playing him over and over on hardest difficulty and finding things that stick out as too strong or too weak, then tweaking their properties.
The idea is to give the player a ton of options, but not make the character too powerful. You have to tweak the moves, so they work a certain way with others.
For example, changing the stun moves to knock down hits if the player is frozen. That way you can't do the stun, Freeze, Stun, Freeze, etc...
Little details like that all over.
I was thinking of making the Fatality Sub Zero did to the guard in the MK1 movie.
I'm not sure what the move vs Liu Kang would do other than freeze them. They could fall over, or It could be a combo fatality. Instead of doing the ice blast, he could do the ice charge, then the uppercut or some other attack, like with the Corry blade maybe.
For the Deep freeze, yeah that was bothering me too. The problem I ran in to with that is Mugen has a limit on how many "Helpers" can be on screen at any one time.
I'm using individual pieces of ice as a helper with different animations, so the ice explosion never looks the same twice.
What I'm thinking of doing is making a screen capture of ice shards exploding on a pink screen. Then, instead of having 56 helpers, I only need one animation.
With that I can't get as much of a random effect, but I'll be able to get tons of ice and guts on screen at the same time.

It would be cool if they fall and if u hold a button they could stay laying on the ground longer like they did on mk vs dc if u hold the block button u lay there for like 2 secs or until u let it go. i love that.
