If you did a Zombie Kang edit, you could play around with his chains too. Though an improvement on MK3 Kang's style would be great on it's own.

I thought of suggesting Zombie Kang as well, but that seems like a lot of extra work...
On another note...this version of Scorpion I found seems to have semi-realistic looking fire effects. They're not perfect and I dunno if they'll be of any use, but it's the best I've found so far and I figured it couldn't hurt.

It also reminds me, does your version's Teleport Punch leave a "decoy" afterimage? I always liked that, added more ghostly-ness to him.

I can do that too, I'd rather use a more realistic image of a dragon though.
Probably can find one on google and edit it to look like it's on fire.

That one looks good.
I'm still working on Scorp, changing his basic attacks a bit and other stuff.
I'll try and get the spear infinites fixed before posting the file.
It probably has something to do with variable sets and if then statements in the code. I don't know how it works just yet but I'll get it...

Yeah speaking on kang,mkp has already got mk3 kang doing the 360 uppercut,also got mk3 kang doing mk2 dragon finsher.It look very good there is video of it.Go to interloko's channel on youtube.
About the zombie kang yes his chains need an overhaul big time.they do not move natural at all bad edit.when he stands they should sway back an forth,also when he jump uggh it looks horrible,chains are to stiff lookin.

I can fix the chains to a certain extent. Since it's not 3D and the swings can't be generated in real time. Best I can do is fake it like I did with Scorpion. That's kind of a big job though fixing all that so it looks like it's swinging right.
An easier way wold be to have him fight mainly with the chains wrapped around his arms like in the MKA intro.
At the beginning of the fight, he swings his arms to roll them up. Special moves and part of combos would include him unwinding the chains, swinging them and winding them up again in a smooth motion.
Should look pretty cool I think. I'm going to work on Normal Kang next though.
Scorpion's melee combos are getting pretty smooth now. I'm watching some video clips of him in movies and on the TV show for ideas.
I took out the classic MK fast jabs, changed them for a better kung fu movie flow during combos...
I'm trying to think of other iconic moves for him to do. Like have a throw resembling the comic book image of him Holding up Sub zero by the collar. I could do that same move, but a choke hold. Then have the spear come out through the opponent's neck. Swing around a little and reel back in.

I put a lot of work in to Scorpion these past few days.
Big difference, I added a lot of new stuff and made a ton of new sprites to make it all happen.
I changed his regular moves and specials. The juggles are MK vs DC style, I'll probably do a combo sample video later. This new video demo is basically showing the new moves.

that is one awesome scorpion. I never seen so many different ways to use his spear. His combo system i wicked, there are so many different combo combinations. thats some thinking out the box. I'd love to play a whole mk game remixed to your standards. do you plan to release him any time soon ?

I like the spear that flies past and then reels back in, and I really love how giving them a headbutt makes him stumble back too.
The fire effects look amazing for the most part, too. I wonder if the Inner Flame one shouldn't be bigger, though. It seems like only his torso is lighting up, as opposed to his whole body.

I can only imagine the havoc that would've been wreaked with this scorpion back in the arcade days.
Only complaint I have is the headbutt. Every other move adds to his vicious spectre persona which makes the headbutt look really out of place. It would suit Kano (or perhaps anyone else) better. But I love how they both stumble tho. And the way you've got it so some attacks make the enemy stumble before falling to the ground makes a lot of difference I wasn't really expecting.
The knife-stab is just brutal.

I'm working on MK3 Liu Kang now, I already fixed his flying kick. I made it fly up and down in an ark like in MK4. If you miss with it he lands in a cool looking crouching pose and slides a bit. It has a little bit of a ramp up too for the speed of flight. Still fast but doesn't take off at full speed all of a sudden.

I dunno if I like the sound of that. Needing a running start takes the magic away from it.
The Flying Dragon Kick is a secret technique he had to train with Bo' Rai Cho to learn, which was powerful enough to defeat Shang Tsung. You don't want to turn it into just another jumpkick. More likely he's supposed to be literally levitating when he does it, and wouldn't need a running start.

I gave him a lot more combinations now, he can do almost anything during a combo. I tried to limit some chains so you can't just keep going in loops.
I made the throws able to grab an air born opponent
The throw with the stomach punch combo is now escapable and has different chains that can be done from it, different combos.
I added an extra frame to the hop kick after the snap kick to smooth it out a bit. It links to other moves also, like HK, hop HK...
The flying kick now continues to travel a little bit and slides on landing whether you hit the opponent or not. It was causing repetitive combos.
New fireball sprites, I used the dragon head posted earlier and mixed it with some real fire footage.
I made a quick recovery version of the uppercut, so you can juggle off it.
He can do a second flying kick during the slide recovery of a previous one if the opponent is still in the air. If you launch the opponent high enough, you can land two flying kicks in a row.
Scorpion's inner flame now covers the full figure and has more effects.
His fatality has more fire effects too.
