Some things were made worse, but some things were made better. It was a mixed bag.

Well the few that did get a boost ended up being killed. The rest of them got their original stories thrown out the window, or worse they simply became punching bags for the good guys.

Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Smoke, Shang Tsung, and of course Raiden and Liu Kang. The new timeline did these guys little justice, especially Mileena.

But I feel sorry for Baraka, Reptile, and Sheeva for being extras. Heck, even Ermac was a throw pillow. Stryker, no offense to him, but there's no way he should be going toe to toe with Ermac.

And I can't agree that it was a mixed bag overall. The original story is a hundred times better and more well-written than the new timeline.

Ashrah was one of the stronger new characters to debut in Deception. I really enjoy her story and concept.

Li Mei totally bored me in MK:DA. However, what they did with her in Deception made her more interesting to me. They could give her a good stance and a demon/evil stance in a future game and further develop that Deception storyline which made me more invested in the character.

Another toss up vote since I like them both a lot at this point.

I'm going to give the slight edge to Ashrah

I like them both.

Storywise and design wise, Ashrah's better.

Gameplay wise, Li Mei's great in MKD and MKA. I loved her specials.

Li Mei and Ashrah is off course,good characters,but,just his one of these 2 is pass on next round.I would like to more pass Li Mei because her good personality and his good fighting skills,Ashrah is also good,but,my heart going to Li Mei!!

For the previous round, my vote would have gone to Scorpion. Jarek is just terrible.
For this round, my vote goes to Ashrah. I love everything about her and hope she appears in future games. I do like Li Mei too but Ashrah is superior, imo.

I don't really care about either character. I guess my vote will go for Li Mei. Ashrah just feels like a copycat of Kung Lao, and shes kinda dumb.

Oh, Ashrah, without a doubt. She actually had a storyline.

I like both Li Mei and Ashrah equally. But Li Mei was better gameplay wise, especially in MKDA. And once again I go with underdog.


Well, for each its own. For me MK9 was good enough.
And I don't think of it as something, which override old timeline. It's new take on the old story.
