in b4 hipsterism kicks in and Scorpion gets knocked out too early.

I actually expect Scorpion (and possibly Sub Zero) to crash out to the first viable challenger, maybe Smoke too, people seem sick of the ninjas steamrolling the rest of the competition (with the exception of Reptile, Ermac and Rain)

However, Jarek is the exact opposite of a viable challenger. I still hold him up as the worst MK character, alongside Kira.

Hsu Hao and Dairou sucked but at least they were original and Dairou had a few cool abilities.

Daegon and Taven were plain as hell but they were shoehorned into a hastily constructed mess, I wouldn't mind seeing them as a full version.

I actually thought Kobra was kind of awesome.

As much as I am tired of game-Scorpion, Jarek does not even necessitate himself. Seriously, he is just only an excuse character for not having Kano.

The same, however, certainly cannot be said for Jarek.

In this battle,Scorpion is apsolutely lavourite,no matter what he is not only character who want to be champion on Supreme MK,Jarek is good character and good aly of Kano,but not enough against better and legendary character like Scorpion!!

One-sided battle. Jarek needs some flare 'cause he still didn't leave an impact in Armageddon, albeit it being Armageddon.

Scorpion's story is the same old shit in every single game. He might switch target from time to time, but he is all about that one thing he can never have: Revenge. It's been done over and over again, it is stale and vomit-inducing. He is a one-note character, a boring and bland Ghost Rider clone, and though a ninja, he sure as Hell (get it?) doesn't act like one at all.

Jarek has shown progress in just the two games he's been in. He was never a good character and he started out as just a Kano clone, but he became his own in MK Armageddon, though agreed, still not all that great of a character. But he's shown PROGRESS! And THAT gives him potential to become something more.

All that said, I really do want Scorpion to be redeemed in my eyes! I do want him to evolve and be a character I can like! His newest outfit shown in the recent trailer is actually pretty neat, the best he's had since MKDA, imo, but goddamnit, if his story doesn't progress beyond the whole revenge thing, I don't think I'm ever going to like him.

So there you go, this is my reasoning for picking Jarek over Scorpion. Feel free to disagree all you want and come up with all the counter-arguements you can, but I'm not going to botch. Not because I don't want to, but because I have heard it all already and it still hasn't changed anything.

Well Scorpion was making progress until the MKA and the reboot. With MK2 and 3 (well the original MK2 and 3) he found a new purpose to protect the younger Sub-Zero 'cause he already finished his quest for vengeance, or thought he did.

But then Quan Chi came and literally fucked Subbie and Scorpion, pitting them against each other. It was only at the last moment that Scorpion took down Quan Chi with him, and pursued him till he got shredded by the soulnado in MKDA.

And with Quan Chi dead and his revenge cut short, the Elder Gods revived him as a wildcard with a new purpose to defeat the Dragon King and stop the realms from merging.

It was not until the clusterfuck of Armageddon, and becoming Quan Chi's little bitch in the new timeline that his story really got screwed. I agree that the new Scorpion could have been a whole lot better story-wise in MK9, but we can all make the argument that everyone's story got butchered alongside him.
