Again, wasn't my call to close that thread. However, what's done is done. Thread closings are done on a case by case basis, so as to prevent the double standards you are referring to. The reason this thread has made it so long is because it didn't get derailed right from the start and has sparked great discussion.

I will say, and I'm being 100% serious here - I've never seen so many hostile Stoners before.

Here's the problem.

The weed threads, even the first one, weren't "The recreational smoking community discusses the finer points of Mortal Kombat and how it relates to their love of Marijuana."

They were, "MK comes out the day before 4/20! WHOSE GETTING STONED!?"

As far as I'm concerned, the final post of the first weed thread was the smartest one. And it was written by a smoker of 8 years...



The people he's talking about were the problem in the three closed threads.

3rd person not always, but I use it because I feel like online, especially with this sight, whenever you give an opinion

For example:
"I didnt think that was a good idea." people read it as
"I didnt think that was a good idea, and anyone does is stupid."

There is an unwritten argumentative tone on this forum, but if I say

"Zero doesnt think that was a good idea." Then its more like Im just claiming my own opinion, and other people can have theres, which is kinda my approach to life.

Now, Zero thinks this topic has been derailed enough.

Somebody was talking about effeminate men, and that would be me. Im not gay, I have my girlfriend who I am completely forfilled with, though I do acknowledge that there is a small and specific type of man Im attracted to occasionally.
I am however a crossdresser (privately and online, not safe where I live to do publically).
I think though that what your annoyed with is not effiminate males, but rather flaming homosexual men who keep beating you over the head with a rainbow. That annoys me as well.

Bieng a "stoner" dosent mean your ok with people treating you like shit, or being treated unfairly.

Agreed that those kinds of people can be annoying, but there have been plenty of threads about what people are gonna do when they finally get the game. That one was just more focused on smoking a little before playing, and sure some people felt that made them illegal gangsta snoop dawg badasses, but I feel like most didn't. They were just making jokes about 4/20 coinciding with the games release date.

The 2 people saying everybody who smokes weed is worthless or that they shouldn't be allowed to even talk about it in a thread dedicated to it is what got the thread derailed and closed. People still wanted to vent their frustration or disagreement with them and thats what led to the creation of the other threads and them eventually being closed. Those 2 users from the first thread were bashing weed and anybody who smokes weed as a whole, and were so incredibly intolerant to any discussion of it that it of course got people riled up, especially in a thread basically supporting it.



My respect for you man just went up ten fold. Its nice to see a mod with this kind of levelheadedness, or maybe I've just been away from this site too long. Even though I was annoyed and disappointed with the two guys that got the first stoner thread closed, I agree with everything you said, and whats done is done.

Ya those are mainly high school kids and such who actually try to use weed to be cool, and i agree they are stupid and can get annoying, but i was willing to have an intellegent conversation and i know i wasnt the only one. But check out the other side of the coin, the "flaming homosexual men who keep beating you over the head with a rainbow" are just as, if not more annoying depending on how bad they are.

Your not helping, and that aint cool.

Which was basically the entire problem with the weed threads in the first place.

For every person that MIGHT have been trying to create a sense of "community" and have a "fair discussion" (Of which I, honestly don't think there were that many)

There were 10 more that were more or less just there to say, "I smoke weed and all you straight people can piss off! Woo hoo!"

In fact, here's a little snippet from the first thread directed at one of the anti-weed posters from one of the pro-weed posters...



Yeah, you sounded REAL tolerant and open-minded in that first thread Splinter. It's a wonder such a tolerant pro-community thread ever got closed.
