WWE will not be promoting another Survivor Series pay per view, Vince McMahon revealed today in an investors conference call. The WWE Chairman called the concept ‘obsolete’ in light of falling buyrates in recent years.

The November pay per view will be rebranded beginning this year, putting an end to the 23 year long Thanksgiving tradition. The Survivor Series was considered one of the ‘big four’ along with the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and SummerSlam.

The original concept saw teams compete in elimination matches and in the past two years, the tradition has been extended to the Divas.

Melina and Mickie James have the distinction of being the final sole survivors in a Divas traditional elimination match at Survivor Series.

Given the prestige of the concept, I’d love to see Night of Champions moved to November and become part of the ‘big four’.

with all the crap floating around with tna, at least i get some good news:

its being reported that bobby lashley has been released from tna. i hope so. one less useless guy on the roster to worry about.

dixie and hogan are expected to make a huge announcement in the impact zone this monday. rumor has it that its gonna be impact going to mondays full time.

good matches on impact last night. but didnt like how the overall show came off. and the match linups in the past 2 weeks have sucked. pope and aj should have been the main event last week, not the crap match of nash and foly...which was HORRIBLE. and the last 20 min of so this week was just blah.

all this hogan shit pisses me off. ive always hated his punches. like hes angry at his other hand...and how pac stood there like "oh no!" b4 hogan hit him (after wat seemed like an hour) is just sad.

pac looks like hes lost a lot of weight.

at least the ppv should be decent if they do it right. a lot of potential. i hope joe beats aj, but its hard to tell whats gonna happen with that with bischoff as the ref. i look for bischoff to screw joe out of the title for some reason.

was also thinking they might have sting show up and attack aj. since sting pretty much "passed the tourch" to aj by handing him the title. and soon after the flair/sting feud part 90000 will start.

Right now it seems Lashley doesn't even really know if he's been released by TNA or not.. typical confusing shit just like in WCW.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Lashley or anything but it's really pathetic. Sure the guy is bad on the mic and just blah overall, but denying he's a great athlete and a good technically sound performer is dumb. He used to get the Cena/Batista hate when they were all three champions in WWE, but he has so much more raw talent than they do. He's like a giant Shelton Benjamin, except no one likes him.

well, it's official, TNA is moving to Mondays:

TNA Press Conference Report: The Monday Night Wars Are Back:

- The feed started at 2:38PM. At that time, we got a spinning TNA logo for a few minutes and some music. Finally at 2:44PM Mike Tenay appeared to welcome us.

- Tenay announces Dixie Carter, and hey, she gets entrance music and comes out to vide. Hell, you're in the Impact Zone, use it all. She discusses their history on Spike TV, and how they have taken a dream into a reality. She says January 4th was a big night, as they went live for three hours, and the ratings were good. She says they peaked at 3.4 million viewers, and says that Spike and TNA decided that there was potential to move to Monday's.

- Starting March 8th, they move to Monday nights at 9PM. Carter discusses the company's growth, and the addition of Hulk Hogan to the company. She puts over their great talent and fans, and that Hogan was the last thing that they needed to get over the top.

- She introduces Hogan to the conference, and he says that this is amazing. He has been around the block, but he had no idea that with the TNA family, how quick that they would be making such amazing strides. He says the momentum is amazing, and they has so many positive things happening, and he is honored to be here. Being here is something he never expected, and this is big for him. He thought the career peaked and was over, but now, he is getting ready, with TNA, to make history. TNA has everything they need to get to the top, the talent is dedicated, the old mentality is gone, and everyone is working as a team. He feels young again, and is proud. He thanks Dixie and Bob Carter, and the hard work of the guys that have been with TNA all these years. Without their work, this would not have happened. The commitment in TNA is amazing, and the team works so well together. He says it isn't about him, he didn't make it happen, he just helped.

- They are asked how long this is happening, and Dixie says the move to Monday's is permanent. She says some weeks are live, like the 8th, and taped other weeks.

- When asked about the timeslot, she says it is what it is, and Hogan says that from the wrestler's point of view, you want the fans to make the choice, so he wanted to go from 9-11.

- Hogan is asked about being with WCW when the first wars began. Hogan talks about growing with WCW, and he says they are going to war, and they will win. He says TNA has a better product, better talent, and better everything. He thinks they will win the war and prove that they are better. They will not repeat history, they will make history.

- Dixie says there were mo talks to go three hours but that there have been talks of additional programming.

- Hulk says that he expects no reaction from Vince publicly. But he has friends there, and they want TNA to succeed so that there is another option for the boys. But the corporate side is panicking. And that's the scoop, brother.

- Dixie expects the ratings to grow over time. They have the passion to succeed, and they want to make people proud to be a wrestling fan.

- Before Tenay can close things up, Hogan says that people are excited to work here, and that is why this will work. The bar is being raised, and he says that the guys work so hard, that they don't have a scale of where they want to go. He is hanging on for the ride, and the company is fresh, and it is going places and it will happen fast.

Hulk Hogan claimed this past week on The Bubba the Love Sponge Show that
he would be turning heel soon. He also said he doesn't want daughter Brooke to
become a wrestling character.

There was discussion this past week of highlighting September's Bragging Rights pay-per-view with a five-on-five match WarGames match, a gimmick match used originally in the National Wrestling Alliance and later held annually in World Championship Wrestling, usually at their Fall Brawl pay-per-view event in September.

-- Money in the Bank qualifying matches are scheduled to begin on next week's episode of Monday Night RAW.

As reported earlier, the new WWE NXT show will feature wrestlers from Florida Championship Wrestling, who will be paired off with WWE veterans in their quest to make it to the main roster.

Here's a look at the nine wrestlers who are expected to be part of WWE NXT: Season 1, which debuts next Tuesday night on Syfy:

- Justin Angel (FCW Champion)
- Daniel Bryan (formerly Bryan Danielson)
- Kaval (formerly Low Ki)
- Skip Sheffield
- Joe Hennig (son of Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig)
- Brett Dibiase (son of the Million Dollar man, brother of Ted Jr.)
- Darren Young
- Heath Slater
- Michael Tarver

Shortly after WWE announced the name of their new show is "NXT," it came out that there is already a promotion called NXT Wrestling, which was a developmental system for the UK's Scottsh Wrestling Alliance.

SWA owner PJ Murphy has issued the following statement regarding a potential conflict with WWE over the "NXT" trademark:

SWA:SOURCE

"WWE was proactive in working with us to come to mutually agreeable terms on the release of the NXT trademark once it learned of the potential conflict. The timing was right for us as we were planning on renaming the NXT brand to SWA:Source to be closer aligned with the SWA parent brand."

-PJ Murphy, owner of the Scottish Wrestling Alliance"

take these "spoilers" as u will

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to a source, look for Sheamus and Triple H to end up as the focal points in tonight's RAW Elimination Chamber. Kofi Kingston is obviously not going to main event WrestleMania and it appears as though John Cena will be facing Batista at WrestleMania. It also appears that Randy Orton will be involved in a feud with DiBiase and Cody Rhodes leading into WrestleMania. I've heard that they are going to do a triple threat match at the PPV with the fathers of each man in their corners. That is not confirmed though.

As far as the SmackDown! Elimination Chamber match, there is obviously a reason for the John Morrison injury angle. That could lead to Shawn Michaels being added to the match although that is not confirmed. As of several weeks ago, the plan was for Chris Jericho to win the title here or on SmackDown! and then go on to face Edge at WrestleMania. HBK and The Undertaker is also penned in for WrestleMania. They may pull a swerve here though so we'll have to wait and see.

Drew McIntyre is expected to have a decent run with the IC title so don't expect Kane to take the title in this one.

There is the possibility that another match will be added to tonight's card at the last minute. Shawn Michaels vs. Batista was at one point planned but they've done nothing to even hint that direction since the Rumble.

I'd expect one Elimination Chamber match to open the show while another will end the show. One thing is for sure - they won't do back-to-back Chamber matches.

With the chambers matches results, it's now obvious Edge will challenge Jericho for the title at WM.

What a shame to cancel that divas title match. And what did we have instead? An awfull & useless divas tag team match.

Just read this on Lords Of Pain.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

- Multiple WWE sources are reporting that Vince McMahon has decided to go a different direction with the Bret Hart storyline and WrestleMania. Believe it or not, the plan as of this weekend was for Bret to win the WWE Title at WrestleMania.

The plan as of Sunday morning was to have either Batista or John Cena walk out of Elimination Chamber with the WWE Title, which obviously Batista won. This should lead to Bret Hart & John Cena vs. Vince McMahon & Batista at WrestleMania with the person who gets the winning pinfall will be new WWE Champion.

The angle has been described as something that would be a "feel-good title win" for Bret. A likely ending for the match would be for Bret to make Vince tapout with the Sharpshooter but that's nothing confirmed.

Vince has gone back and forth on where they're headed with Bret for WrestleMania a few times over the past month but as of this weekend, this was the plan.

Thats sweet about Hart...but, after that...then what? Sell the bet to Cena like Andre did, and get it stripped?

...Then bring back King Of The Ring, where Someone like William Regal wins the title?

...hmm...
