I don't know why people were saying this year was unpredictable. It was down to Edge or DX. It seems like everyone besides main eventers were buried in the Royal Rumble.

all in all it was a good show.

This is awesome as hell.
It has now been confirmed by WWE's office in Tokyo, Japan that Antonio Inoki will be inducted into this year's Hall of Fame class. It was also announced that Stan Hansen will be inducting him as we noted earlier.

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Joey Mercury is set to return to the WWE.
The plan is for him to return to the SmackDown! brand, where his former tag team partner John Morrison currently wrestles. Mercury teamed with Morrison (then Johnny Nitro) and were managed by Melina, and found great success as a tag team.
Mercury was released in March of 2007, and worked on the independent scene for a while, but then retired in 2008, reportedly due to injuries.
Former NWA World Heavyweight champion and WWE Hall of Famer Jack Brisco has passed away this morning, he was 68. There aren't many details as of now, but Brisco did undergo a triple heart bypass several weeks ago and he was in a rehab center to recover. Briscoe was a former NWA Champion, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame with brother Gerry in 2008.
A long read:
It appears that things are not all sunshine and roses in the world of wrestling. TNA and The Young Bucks/Generation Me received legal letters last week. These letters were from Dragon Gate USA, regarding the fact that TNA has pulled the tag team from the WrestleMania weekend shows in Phoenix. DG: USA claims that they entered into a "verbal contract" with the tag team prior to them signing with TNA and that TNA has no rights to supersede that agreement. Reports say that this comes from a phone conversation that Gabe Sapolsky and TNA Director of Talent Terry had weeks ago, which ended with "Sapolsky screaming at Taylor and allegedly getting hung up on." Sapolsky has denied the story.
It also looks as if DG: USA will be pursing legal action against Davey Richards as well. Richards has signed a new contract with ROH, and when that happened, Sapolsky announced that Richards was removed from all future DGUSA and EVOLVE events. Richards had been a top name for DG: USA, and also a partner in EVOLVE with Sapolsky and Sal Hamoui, although he had no financial interest in that company. DG: USA looks to use the same verbal contract stance with Richards as they are using with The Young Bucks, but nothing has been filed at this time. DG: USA is very upset that Richards has backed out of the WestleMania weekend shows. DG: USA also went as far as to "leak emails and texts to different media outlets showing Richards' original explanation to Ring of Honor that he would be choosing to work DGUSA that weekend and that he was being "forced out" of the Phoenix dates. "
There is also talk from DG: USA that Richards had misinformed them of his ROH contract status, and also claimed in interviews that he was not contracted with the company. Richards was set to face BxB Hulk over WrestleMania weekend, and they say that he had assured them that he was on board with the company going forward.
ROH sources are saying that before they signed Richards to a new deal, they agreed to let him work double shots that weekend for both companies. Gabe Sapolsky denied this to PW Insider, but a DG: USA source confirmed that the offer was made to the Japanese office, but shut down. Many feel that Richards was tired of being caught in the middle of the two sides, and that he accepted a new deal with ROH for a slight raise and guarantee of a certain amount of dates.
DG: USA announced both the Bucks and Richards well in advance for the WrestleMania weekend shows as a way to get a jump on ROH in the market, and now will run the shows without the wrestlers. DG: USA feels that the Japanese talents are the main draws, and that they will not be hurt by their leaving. But they are also upset that they guys did not "finish up/do jobs" on the way out.
Many of the ROH and PWG talents feel that the DG: USA are ridiculous, due to their being that this is Independent wrestling and that there are no contracts. Some talents also feel that Gabe Sapolsky wasn't exactly endearing himself to the talents by pursuing legal action.

Loved the Rumble. The divas match was short, just like I wanted it to be. Shame Ezekiel didn't win the ECW title, and I didn't need to see Miz vs MVP but I guess it was for the story in the Rumble.
CM Punk was fucking gold, it was a shame that he was eliminated so quickly, a real waste. After that start, he seemed like a legit contender.
By the way I love Sareena.
R-Truth eliminating Mark Henry and Big Show was ridiculous, give me a break. I think this was the first Rumble I've ever seen where it didn't take a ton of guys to eliminate one of the giants.
Happy to see Beth get the honor she got, she deserves it no doubt.
I'm really happy that Edge won; not that I like Edge, but because of his win I know Jericho's going to win one more World title. It's only going to last a month but at least I'll get to see my man Y2J as the champ once more.
EDIT: Oh, and I loved the story with Legacy. Not knowing which one of them is bullshitting Orton is cool.

I hated the last half of the Rumble match. The beginning with Punk was so awesome! Then HHH came in and everything went to shit until the ring started to fill up. HBK eliminated HHH was awesome but after that it went downhill again. This rumble didn't even seem long, I don't think it even lasted a full hour. The intervals seemed really short

I'm just glad that HBK didn't win, Althought I really do think Edge was too predictable.
CM punk was much more impressive then I throught he would be, I loved his segments inbetween wrestlers and almost pissed myself when he put the GTS on Beth.
Also loved how he snapped Zack Ryder lolololol.
I know this may seem a little far fetched, but what if Edge challenges Christian for the ECW title.
Apparently the ECW brand is getting a facelift after WM, so it could tie in well?
I doubt it though
Miz and MVP was a waste of time period, We would have had the same outcome if they didnit have a match and the two spots where left for a couple of old school wreslters. Other then the unsuprising Edge, there was no suprises.

HBK eliminating HHH was pretty cool, reminds me of there triple threat with Cena. How long did the intervals last, I't felt like it kept changing?
Overall best part of the rumble for me was seeing HBK getting eliminated and CM-punks run.
BTW, R-Truth eliminating Big Show and Henry??

I was cracking up when CM Punk tells Zack Ryder "You, you, you have potential!! How would you like to join the straight edge soc" *cracks him on the head with the microphone and tosses him out* that was my favorite moment, absolutely perfect

I'm so glad that wwe finally changed the name. I've been wating for that change since they brong ECW back.
But NXT won't be really any diffrent then it already is.
But also there is already an indy fed in Scotland I think named NXT so I don't no if anything will happen with that situation.

Christian vs. Sheamus was good, and Bret Hart excited me on Raw last night... I think he's still got it.
Other than tripping of course, that was awkward.
Christian said that everyone on ECW would be free agents, so there you go to whoever wanted them out of ECW.

WWE's Japanese website has an article and photos up from a media event held this morning in Tokyo, Japan. At the event, Antonio Inoki not only accepted the invitation to the WWE Hall of Fame, but also stated that he would attend the Wrestlemania 26 weekend festivities. At the event, WWE's Ed Wells presented Inoki with a Hall of Fame certificate. I'm sure they'll bring out all the Hall of Fame inductees at WrestleMania as they always do.
In a radio interview with Boston's Mix 104 this week, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shed some new light on his upcoming WWE return, which is expected to take place this summer.
When asked if he plans on wrestling a match, The Rock said:
"How I would come back is a different capacity than what Hulk Hogan did or I believe Ric Flair is doing. Those guys are coming back to actually wrestle. I don't want to wrestle; I have no intention of wrestling a match."
The Rock plans on having a major impact on WWE programming and could serve as a semi-permanent RAW Guest host for the entire summer:
"I do have intention of going back and hosting the show. Hosting a show like that would give me the opportunity to get on the microphone, rip open the writing, and invite guests on to come host with me. We wanted to create something cool and big and fun for the audience."
As mentioned last night on RAW, the current "ECW" talents will be free agents and go to RAW and Smackdown once the ECW show ends. All signs point to WWE NXT to be a reality based series, featuring new talents and some veteran talents from other brands. The veteran talents will make visits, to "mentor and or hinder" the new talents that will be introduced on the new show. Also, the veteran and bigger names will be used to draw viewers into the new show. WWE NXT debuts on February 23rd.
