Considering Sting got them the two hour slot I wouldn't call signing him a short term advantage.

I'm certainly not discounting their contributions. Each acquisition did lead to a ratings spike, and I'm pretty sure you're right in saying that the spike caused by Sting did help in getting the two hour slot. I'm just saying that overall, once the hype's died down and people are looking for a reason to keep watching, what happens? None of these acquisitions have led to any true long term success. Ratings still suck, and ppv buys are abysmal. Hence, short term gain.

No, you don't understand. Signing Sting LITERALLY got TNA the two hour slot with Spike. Spike told TNA that they would only take them in IF TNA signed Sting.

Because the spike in ratings caused by Sting's retirement speech, finally pushed TNA over the all important 1.0 nielsen rating(a goal for TNA and spike). It's no wonder Spike saw the man that pushed them to that peak as a hot commodity.

All relative IMO.

What happened afterward is irrelevant, fact of the matter is that it's true. Spike might have overestimated Sting (or underestimated just how bad TNA's writing is), but it certainly was something TNA did with their future in mind.

Exactly.

I liked the speech, I think it's important for Dixie to build her image. For a long time she was pretty much a reason to make fun of TNA, hopefully it's a sign of things to come. I like it that she's trying to impose respect, God knows that's something Bischoff never did in WCW.

i thought impact was good. i just didnt like the end of it. aj and daniels should have been the main event. i dono what theyre trying to do with the conspiracy storyline, but that was a shit way to end a good impact.

i thought the speech was pretty cool. dont see things like that very often.

It's being reported that Dixie Carter's pre-Impact address given to the entire roster of TNA talent was NOT scripted, and in fact was genuinely how the TNA President feels at the moment.

There was speculation that her address was a work, and was written into the show as part of a story line, however it seems that is not the case.

There has been a lot of frustration in the TNA locker room as of late, as we have reported, with stars such as AJ Styles and Daniels voicing their concerns with the creative direction of the company, and it seems as if Carter's speech to the talent roster this past week on Impact was designed to let the wrestlers know that she is in charge and in control.

The problem with Dixie's speech is that she's asking people to stick with the company but she doesn't realize that bad writing is part of NOT sticking with the company, so I think AJ and Daniels and Suicide are entitled to being pissed off at piss poor booking.

Now Hogan's claiming he might bring in Macho Man Randy Savage or Steve Austin into TNA.

Right. Stone Cold in TNA. Because of Hogan.

Hogan's one master hype bullshitter.

Well Noble's retired from the WWE... Very sad news for me, I'm a huge fan, he's definitely one of my idols in pro wrestling. I hope he doesn't retire from pro wrestling, hopefully he' s just tired of the WWE. What a shame. I was really looking forward to some Danielson rematches.

A work involving Noble? I'm just not seeing it, sorry. I think Noble simply was tired of the schedule and never really doing much except jobbing. He told WWE this, and they agreed to write him off. Obviously they wanted to "use" this opportunity to their advantage to bolster Sheamus.

If it's a work though, I'd be surprised.

TNA are black belts at piss-poor roster management. They keep investing in talent that's not going to be there for long, which is a huge waste since all their heat will disappear when they leave the company. Some great examples are Al Snow, Judas Mesias, Shane Douglas, Rellik, Test, and soon to be Lashley. They're making Lashley unstoppable, a huge force beating everybody in the roster and in a few months he'll be gone to sign with Strikeforce.

They've practically been doing this shit since they've started.

Oh and Neidhart now. Old fuck comes in for a one time return and beats the young/athletic/potential draw Jay Lethal clean. Way to think about the future.

good ppv tonight.

opening match just felt like an impact match. same with the tag matches

the knockouts match was kinda weak, but i was really impressed with velvet sky, shes improving alot. and shes smoking hot.

kong and tara was a good match. anything with tara or kong is gonna be good. i love tara btw

bobby and scott was boring and bobby botched the frakinsteiner, but i liked the ending.

angle and wolfe was a great match. there was a real interesting counter to the ankle lock that wolfe did and had a surprising ending, oh and i love tara. lol

aj, joe and fallen angel....wow best match ever. was funny to hear the ppl at the impact zone chant "fuck hulk hogan"

got off to a lil bit of a slow start, but overall 9/10

I'm pretty sure they were chanting ''Screw Hulk Hogan''.

Fuck yes PPV though. Even though I STILL don't remember the name, it was fucking awesome. The X division title match was decent, and I enjoyed the tag title match a lot.
Didn't see any of the knockouts matches though.
And the 6 man tag was boring as hell. Fast forwarded through most of it. Didn't get the point at all, I really wish they'd push Hernandez to the top already.

I liked that Steiner beat Lashley clean, but I don't see why the match was made falls count anywhere. Their match would've been WAY better if it had been a regular 1 on 1 one fall to a finish match.
Hurray for Poppa Pump though.

Wolfe vs Angle was fucking beautiful. It's a shame Nigel's finishers aren't more established, because if they were the crowd would've shit their pants. Reminded me a lot of the Benoit vs Angle from the Royal Rumble '03.

Triple threat? Well it was only the greatest Triple Threat match I've ever seen in my life. How those guys managed to not botch a single thing is beyond me. Just wow. No words to describe it.

Noble's suppossed to be an agent now

Jamie Noble will be transitioning full-time into an agent for WWE. This explains the "retirement" angle they did following his attacks by Sheamus on Raw the last few weeks.

Were told WWE writer Christopher DeJoseph (aka the Fat Oily Guy) saw an old tape of WCW Saturday Night in the early 1990s of Vader powerbombing someone outside the ring and thought it was impressive so they set that up with Sheamus and Noble on Raw.
