Watched the whole royal rumble on youtube, good show. The Edge vs Jeff Hardy match was awesome! Though Jeff Hardy reminded me of sting with that face paint. The rumble match was awesome, I don't know if the ring was ever that packed before, there were at least like 15 guys at one point. RVD returning for the rumble was awesome as was Santino breaking the Warlords record and Jim Duggan showing up for the royal rumble. Well see you guys next year this time around when I actually give a damn about the WWE

No Christian was half surprising... but it was just "too obvious", for lack of a better description. As far as Batista goes... well I told you he was legitimately injured and wouldn't be back for Wrestlemania.

Well you didn't really know that for a fact. No fan did.

Anyways this new storyline with Orton makes it so that his theme song finally makes sense. I'm loving this, Orton is easily one of WWE's most interesting and developed characters in a very long time...

Well too bad Orton looked terrible last night as Shane McMahon was "beating" him down.

Characters can't be interesting if they get beaten?

I like where the story is heading off with Orton, but goddamnit, what was up with the "punches" that Shane was giving out? That looked horrible.

Yeah, I can't say I was a fan of Shanomania. Not just the fact he clearly punched the air a couple of times, but the fact he beat the hell out of Legacy all by himself... I mean it's bad enough when someone like Cena or Batista does that, but Shane? Come on.

Still, I'm assuming the route they're with this will end up pitting Shane and Stephanie against one another again. One of them will end up joining Legacy eventually... that's my prediction.

Well Orton won the RAW battle royal and then the Royal Rumble. He's a heel, he's not supposed to be all that good, so a babyface kicking his ass was in order.
Also Shane attacked the Legacy by surprise and he was furious from what happened to Vince so, it does make some sense.
Don't worry, Orton's going to punt the shit out of Shane, I'm sure.

now that would make more sense than having Shane join the Legacy, or even Steph for that matter, it would be stupid to have either one of them join. also, apparently Vinnie didn't get a "concussion" from the punt but rather a cut on his face/head

What purpose would either one of them would have to join with Orton?

What purpose have the McMahons ever had to be evil? Normally, it happens, you all know that. By nature they don't particularly like playing faces because as the "evil owner" it's much easier to get heat. Plus, heel GMs and owners are just better than faces... take Teddy Long for example. Really boring in my opinion.

Orton's "Legacy" is composed of second and third generation stars... and Shane/Stephanie are both third generation. I mean, why did the Corporate Ministry happen? It just did, despite all the Undertaker's evil inflictions on the McMahons. Giving Orton a leg up, a voice in the top, would make the playing field more level.

I see where you're going, but I just can't figure out how either Shane or Stephanie would somehow get themselves involve with the group at all. I just don't see it. It could happen, but I just see how either one of them would somehow come into the group.

But if one of them did, okay, let's say that they're really going to have a McMahon in the group, my bet would be Steph... I can see her faking how she's caring for her father, how she could really give a damn whether Orton wants to sue or anything... but again, I kinda don't see it happening.

Plus, it's kinda old for a McMahon rivalry, it's been done too many times lately, and god knows somewhere along the line Linda will make a show... I can't stand her, I hate when she talks, I hate when she comes on, I just can't stand her.

actually they're both 4th generation stars, cause it goes back to Vince's Grandfather, then his Father Vince Sr. then Vince himself

any who, here's an update on Batista, case anyone cares:

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Batista has returned to the gym and is working out twice a week. At this time he is slated to return to the ring in June or July, so expect Summerslam to be built around his return. He was wanting to wrestle at Wrestlemania but due to the severity of his injury, that will not happen. That doesn't rule out a non-wrestling role though.

The reason I bring up the McMahon rivalry was that, originally, it was planned (so I read) that Stephanie and Shane would feud and eventually that would lead to Vince's return. Apparently they changed those plans, but I'm just thinking they'll still use it eventually. I mean, without that twist, exactly how long can they drag Orton vs. The McMahons on? There's not a whole bunch that can be done without adding some new element, I think.

Stephanie joining Legacy because she wanted to run RAW alone instead of having Shane and Vince around to control her? Makes total sense to me, actually.

don't u recall the stupid McMahons/Lashley feud from 2007? how it dragged on and on, and didn't amount to jack shit! well, it can be done, so they could drag an Orton/McMahon on and on with no point

If you haven't seen the latest TNA iMPACT!

You HAVE to check it out

it's possibly the worst wrestling TV show EVER.
It's unbelievable.

There isn't a shred of quality in this thing.

Well actually Black Snow, Chet Lemon and Steiner are freaking hilarious.

But it's still so ridiculously poor.

Sting, the world heavyweight champion, wrestling in a large t-shirt.
What the fuck.

Babyfaces keep getting destroyed and buried.
Main Event Mafia take out everybody, putting away every babyface.
Main Event Mafia also keep adding insult to injury by dominating verbally. Black Snow and Chet Lemon just keep talking about whatever they want during the matches, putting everybody down, and since their commentators, the babyfaces never get a chance at talking back.

The editing is as shitty as ever. Shane Selwel throws Booker T against a turnbuckle and in the next shot their trading punches.

Ridiculously long vignettes. There's a long ass bit that is basically just a music video for Team 3D. And then an interview with Traci Brooks about her life. Traci Brooks? What? Who gives a shit? She isn't even on the show.

Scott Steiner doesn't even know the names of the people he announces.

LAX get buried beyond belief.

Frontline is made out to be a bunch of pussies.

Beyond ridiculous. But it IS so bad it's good.

TNA won the 2008 PWI (I think) award for Worst Promotion. Pretty sure this wasn't their first "win" of this award.

Yeah, I'm sorry but the Dudleys are just getting this because of the fact Matt, Jeff, Edge and Christian have all made it to main event status. They were the third wheel tag team around in the glory days of the division in WWE... but sadly, I just don't think they've evolved or done enough to be in that sort of situation. They aren't the Hardys or E&C and they never will be. They just don't have the ability or talent.

Anyone who thinks Vince will ever buy TNA is insane... it isn't WCW or ECW... you know, it isn't actually any good at all. It's where old talent goes to die (read: run over the actual new/good talent they have). I predict ten years from now TNA will still be wallowing in that steaming pile they call a product while Scott Steiner makes his way to the ring in a wheelchair, still buff as ever but more wrinkly and frightening, all the while shouting incoherently for his bags and a sammich.
