Michael Hayes and Brian Gewirtz was told of Freddy Prinze Jr hiring last week, while the rest of the creative team found out during their flight to RAW on the corporate jet. He was treated "equal to an Undertaker-level top star" when flown in to RAW. Creative team members were impressed when they met Prinze. He was said to be outgoing, enthusiastic, anxious to contribute and very knowledgeable of the current WWE product but was said to be "hit or miss" on major wrestling history.
Why don't they just Hire me? i have more Knowledge of wrestling than Freddie Prinze...and i'm a huge Freebirds fan...
I think as long as he satys offscreene, it might work...But if they try to work him into any storys...they are making a K-Fed Esq mistake...

Hummm, well, then maybe it seems WWE has loosened it's hold on Benoit matches, at least DVD wise any way. Same can't be said for WWE 24/7, he's on when there's "Horsemen" business on Nitro, when they do promos or run-ins, but one on one matches, forget it, WWE edits them. So, if they're starting to loosen up on DVD, maybe WWE 24/7 won't be far behind. I just hope the Summerslam Anthology is left intact. It would be hard to explain why the World title match from 2004 all of a sudden isn't there

The whole of WWE is a mistake, sorry if I offend, I'm just stating my opinion, the fact that WWE is still considered "Wrestling" is a joke, a pure disgrace to a great sport.
How people watch it is beyond me, I can't even watch it for 20 minutes without getting disgusted. IT FUCKIN SUCKS. Are some people retarted? Can they not see how much WWE blows. When I watch something called World "Wrestling" Entertainment I expect to see some good wrestling. Not Punch, Punch, Kick, Slam. How many matches does the average Raw or Smackdown have a night? 3? 4? All it is, is LAME ASS STORYLINES, If I wanted to see a fuckin terrible story line for 2 hours I' d watch a bad movie.
Am I getting across to anyone? Do you guys see my point?
Watch this and see if you can still call WWE wrestling.

Most of you guys really need to start thinking outside the box and remember that WWE is a company that is trying to make money through entertainment and most people DON'T want to watch ROH over the standard WWE programming.
If I was running WWE, I probably would've done the whole K-Fed thing.

Although I respect your opinion Zentile, and I am aware that your post wasn't at me, I just want to bud in for a sec and say that, I dont think it's the fact that people don't want to watch ROH over standard WWE programming, I think its the fact that people dont KNOW about ROH, because honestly who in there right mind would pick WWE over ROH.
And just because people dont know about it, or can't get ROH off Fight Network(for whatever reason), doesn't mean that they should have to settle for shit wrestling ala WWE.
If I would have to choose beetween ROH or WWE, (for me personally) Hands down ROH. If I had to choose beetween Not watching wrestling at all, or WWE ( call me crazy) but would honestly prefer not to watch it at all.
Again, Thanks for reading my opinion.
i appreciate your politeness and so I hope you'll know I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, but I can guarantee you that even if everyone who knows about WWE would also know about ROH, they'd still rather watch WWE.
WWE is a massive marketing machine, a multi millionar dollar company. If their marketing experts who I'm sure have recieved a lot of training and education and are being paid very well aren't telling Vince McMahon to sign Bryan Danielson and have him go forty minutes for the world title against Paul London, it's because it's not the best choice if WWE wants to continue making seriously good money.
And it's for a very simple reason: Most people who watch WWE don't really want to watch complicated, scientific, raw pro wrestling- that's why they ''settle'' for the ''WWE crap'', which isn't crap at all in their eyes since they do watch it and enjoy it, and buy the PPVs and DVDs and action figures and t-shirts and whatever else there is to buy.
You're incorrectly assuming that everyone has the same taste in wrestling that you do. You are absolutely wrong. I don't know how old you are, I don't know what education you have, I don't know if you have a job or what job it is. But surely you're not saying that you can do a better job at running a pro wrestling company than Vince McMahon and his team?

But in all seriousness, don't get too exited about WWE loosening up on Benoit footage. On Stone Cold's latest DVD, Austin had a match against Triple H at Survivor Series '00. Benoit interfered, but they edited all of those parts out.
Also, during Ric Flair's speech at the Hall of Fame, he referenced many former members of the Four Horsemen, including Benoit. For the DVD, it was edited so it sounded like he said Steve "Mongo" McMichael twice.

The fact is WWE has turned wrestling into a joke.
WWE is not taking seriously to me at all as a wrestling company.
They just want money witch is understandable since it is a business but they deliver shit on the t.v and yet make money cause people buy into that crap.

^^LMAO....I guess he did well enough, but when I think Horseman, the first thing that springs to mind is most certainly not....mongo.
and I agree about the shoddy editing. To see that the wwe is more interested in erasing Chris Benoit from wrestling history than to actually make their productions credible is just embaracing.
It's interesting to see the lines in which wwe doesn't mind being crossed. I wonder if Stone Cold had killed his ex wife instead of just beating her, if they would've tried to do the same thing to him.

Well, it could happen, yes those DVD releases are the exception, but as I stated they are loosening up on WWE 24/7 so they could loosen up on DVD releases at some point. They can't keep fucking up with things, it's bad business and could cost them sales in DVD releases, imho. And WWE is hardly always about bad business. Of course, despite what Zent said, the whole K-Fed thing was bad business, it was like when WCW used David Arquette, and that was also bad for wrestling

I watch WWE because I'm a fan of WWE and have been a fan of WWE since the WWF days, I'm also a fan of all Wrestling period, but I just prefer the WWE. Though you do epxress some relivent poins, your arguement is based just squarely on your own opinions and not really supported by any facts, also, you come across as a bit arrogant. You clearly have a biased opinion on Wrestling and the WWE, and while you are entitled to your opinions, it would be nice if you didn't force yourself onto others here and respect everyone's right to watch whatever Wrestling they want to watch, and just leave it at that.

Fair enough.
(To all who replied to me, Thanks for sharing your opinion, sorry if I came off as arrogant or disrespectful, it was not my intention at all)

It's all good man, it's all good. Feel free to keep on posting, the more who post, the more popular this thread stays, it's always cool to get to know new wrestling fans, and in your case, a fellow Canuck!
