Personally I think the match will suck, and even if it doesn't, it just feels SO pointless!. I don't get it, it doesn't make sense at all.

I'm torn on the new ECW belt. Yeah, it looks nifty, but if you think about all the history the old ECW belt had behind it, its a sacrilege. Glad to see Matt getting a shot at the Semi-world title though..losing the US belt and going for the ECW strap seems like a sidestep to me. Not really making any progress, imo...

Regal can make a great heel character. I loved him back when he was feuding with Edge for the Intercontinental championship, then with the Un-American group as well.

Though, he did the dumbest thing... for a guy like him, who doesn't wrestle that much and can basically do a good GM character, the drug thing was so stupid!

You don't really know what happened, so who are you to judge, really?

Anyway, am I the only one who really likes the new ECW championship? I love it actually.

Actually I do, seeing how he's suspended... well, it's already been lifted since June 20th for his second drug usage. So yah... I do know what he did and can judge whatever and whoever I want. It's that simple.

Variety are reporting that WWE are moving to become more family friendly as they plan to produce their three weekly TV shows in a way that lands WWE a PG rating. Monday Night Raw on USA Network and ECW on Sci Fi are currently rated TV-14, while CW’s Friday Night SmackDown, who are preparing for the move to MyNetworkTV this fall is already a TV-PG.

Varierty reports, “WWE stressed that its shows wouldn't become tamer, as a result of the change. They'd just focus more on its over-the-top characters and storylines, rather than attention-grabbing stunts that may have been considered too outrageous in the past.”

A WWE representative said, "It's the continuing evolution of the company to create content for our growing audience of younger viewers." WWE recently released a kids magazine and website to help target the same demo with original content. Their film division WWE Studios will also help steer away from Rated R content. Actually you don't know. You don't know if Regal really took steroids to get tougher or whatever, or if (like some people said he claimed) he just took a supplement that he wasn't aware was banned. Something entirely possible, and far from stupid.
So as you see, you don't know what happened. Surprise!

On the ECW title, I don't see how it's sacrilege. It looks far more like a wrestling title belt should than the old ECW belt, and belts get updated all the time- how is it sacrilege? Would you rather the WWE title never have been changed since the original belt design? From like, the seventies?
Besides, while the classic ECW belt was all about looking extreme and crap, this one looks more like a WWE wrestling belt- which reflects the new ECW, since it's far from extreme.

Yup: Credit: Associated Press

YONKERS, N.Y. - A gathering for professional wrestlers at a suburban New York City restaurant ended with the arrest of a wrestler known as "The Sandman."

Yonkers police say that when officers arrived at the restaurant Sunday night, 45-year-old James "The Sandman" Fullington was flinging glasses from a tray at employees.

A police spokeswoman says the 6-foot-4-inch, 280-pound Fullington also threw several glasses at police, injuring two officers.

Charges against Fullington include felony second-degree assault. The Wayne, Pa., resident has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. There was no phone listing available for either Fullington or his wife.

- Sandman has yet to be given bail for his assault charge because the judge wants to review his criminal history, which involves jail time for driving offenses.

Little update on Regal:

- William Regal is expected back on TV anytime now. He was indeed backstage at RAW on Monday night and Sunday night's Great American Bash pay-per-view.

And:

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

It was announced on this week's WWE SmackDown taping that Maria will be making her SmackDown debut on next week's edition of the show. Maria was recently drafted to the SmackDown brand in the 2008 WWE Draft.

This week's edition of SmackDown will also reveal that Ron Killings will be debuting on SmackDown soon. The announcements were video promos which aired to the live crowed at the taping and will be featured on this week's edition of SmackDown.

Okay, seriously, I don't give a rats ass what he really did behind the scene. I don't care whether or not he took the drugs, but trying to make me look like an idiot becuase you think I don't know what I'm talking about is stupid. I'm not a hardcore wrestling fan like you, and I'm not on this thread to start shitty wars about topics I could really care less about, but I don't need some smart ass comment like that to be shoved in my face because you think you know everything and I'm not going to say "becaue you dont."

I expect that you know everything, but I really don't care whether or not I know the whole scene beteen Regal and his suspension. So, screw it I don't give a fuck and it's not worth trying to prove anything that I know or don't know the whole story.

So, surpirse to you okay? Yeah, I... don't care. I'm just saying that it's stupid to get suspended for something like drugs, whether or not he took them. Being in the whole "drug controversy" is stupid enough, and I would like to argue why it's stupid to be in that situation where one is being accused of taking roids, but I'm not going to bore anyone here and try to get them to understnad my point of view. So, I'm dropping the damn subject and waiting for some next reply about WWE because that's all I watch and see what they have to say. Okay, buddy? Yeah.

I say stop calling ECW ECW, because there is noithing extreme about it anymore. And what's this bullshit of WWE trying to appeal to a PG rated demographic?? "Sports entertainment"/wrestling is NOT designed for kids, despite having elements that are created towards kids (ex:Hulk Hogan & Doink). That's NOT why people watched WWE in the past, & it sure as hell won't be the main reason they watch today & in the future.

Seriously guys, World Wrestling Entertainment isn't exactly in our league of understanding. It's a multi million dollar company (right?), I'm pretty sure their marketing department is composed of some very capable people who are probably making good money.
I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing- hey, it may lose some teenage viewers but the fact of the matter is, kids like wrestling more and more as time goes on, I've noticed that at least here in Portugal. It's a shame but it's the direction the business is going, and Vince is smart to take his company the way the market is going, instead of trying to go around it! Now THAT would cause rating bombs.

I would. tongue

I like the new ECW title belt though. The old one was a really subtle design, almost like an 'old school' belt, except it didn't have old school history behind it to justify it's simplicity like the NWA title belt does. So essentially it was a boring looking modern belt with a stupid barbed wire gimmick. Lame. The new one is far more interesting, and looks less like the intercontinental title belt or something. Side note: If you haven't seen it yet, check out the new

Honestly WWE has been kid friendly for a while. Take John Cena for example, he simply caters to children.

"JBL is poopy!"
"Quit poopin' yourself!"
"Kurt you're acting like a freakin' ham sandwich."

He is simply too lame to be true. I see so many children of all ages, colors, and shapes running around here in his merchandise. I'm sorry if someone actually like his character, but I don't. He's a decent wrestler, but one of the shittiest gimmicks ever.
