I don't give a damn about what the authorities say. Benoit did not kill his family. His wife and children were the dearest and most important people in his life. His family was the only thing he loved more than wrestling.

My uncle said that too. I'm hoping thats it, but with the "new evidence" looks like benoit just went crazy.

You can't say that, you don't know for sure. Nobody wants to makes us think badly of Benoit, especially not WWE. WWE wants to believe in the best story possible as much as we do, if they admit it was homicide... well, it's a horrible tragedy but it's the truth. Benoit's last actions made him a murderer. EDIT: Update, it seems that Nancy Benoit had been bound on her feet and wrists, and a bible was found next to each corpse. Benoit hung himself in the weight room.

- Lt. Pope: WWE called police officials at 2:30PM on Monday over concern for Benoit’s well being. Police found all three bodies in the home. “Double Homicide Suicide” is the official ruling.

- It appears Benoit killed his wife on Friday, his son shortly after, and likely hanged himself either late Saturday night or early Sunday.

- No suicide note was left behind.

- Asphyxiation is the official ruling for Benoit’s wife and son deaths.

- Benoit was previously arrested for a DUI.

- A lot of prescription medication was found in the home, legal prescriptions.

- Police found anabolic steroids in the home.

- No comment from police regarding a possible motivation.

- He killed himself several hours, but no more than a day, after killing son Daniel.

- Police is unaware of prior domestic violence.

- District Attorney Scott Ballard stated that a Bible was placed near each murder victim.

- Benoit bond Nancy’s hands and feet and she was wrapped in a towel. Blood was found near Nancy’s body.

- In 2003, a temporary restraining order was sought but later dropped.

I don't think this is a question of finding if Benoit had an excuse or not. You have no idea what goes on in a man's mind to do something that hideous and neither have I. The bottom line is that it's a tragedy what happened and trying to find whether Benoit had an excuse or not it's not really relevant.

How do you excuse killing your wife, child and yourself?
No, there's no excuse. A reason? Yes. But no excuse.

I'll happily join you all in denial. He was one of my all-time favourites too. I'm expecting the IWC to turn on McMahon and blame him for this.

I now have no respect for Benoit at all, you don't kill 7 year old children, thats just wrong.

Reports now say that Daniel had been taking growth hormones as he was found with needle marks on his arms. And there were also knee marks on Nancy's back, which are assumed to be from Benoit when he was attacking her.


It's the biggest shocker in pro wrestling history, and the most tragic tale this industry has ever seen, but ChrIs Benoit, the man who was hailed by many as one of the greatest if not the single greatest technical wrestler of all time, respected in the locker room and never appearing to have any vices, turned out to be a psychotic murderer.

Why would the son be given growth hormones? Just because he's is small does not force you to give a 7 year old drugs to make him bigger. What's with all the needle marks too? I don't think the son would have liked that.

Why was there a Bible placed next to Nancy and Daniel. That's just really weird.

Also that rumour that says that Nancy co-operated with Benoit to die, I don't think it's true cause she had blood at the back of her head and also back wounds from being kneed by Benoit. If you were getting strangled by an electric cord, by nature you would fend for your life.

I don't know if it's "roid rage". Probably wasn't cause he would have killed both at the same time. If it is steroids that turned Benoit into a psycho, then Vince McMahon and his little wellness policy have a lot of explaining to do.

It's now being reported that Daniel Benoit had fragile X syndrome. To make things quick and simple, that basically means he was kind of retarded both mentally and physically. And, the text messages he sent to colleagues have now been quoted on wwe.com.

It's just sick and disturbing, like it's an angle written by Stephen King. Benoit kills his family for no reason, leaves bibles next to the corpses and sends out these very weird text messages then hangs himself. Truly an absolute shocker.

Benoit probably just bottled it all inside, then let loose. And since his wife actually COOPERATED with him, i take it she understood, or was crazy. And i was aware of Dan being mentally challanged, and physically as well. Maybe he thought it was mercy. Maybe he snapped.

No one will ever know what the motive was or why he did it. Leys please move on, and try and get out of the past. We, will all miss him, but we must move on.

Another way that you can look at it, is that maybe at the time he did it, he didn't know what he was doing cause he wasn't in the "right frame of mind" then afterwards, realized what he had done, in asking for "forgiveness from god" put the bibles next to them, then, out of severe guilt, killed himself. Now, I just say that, cause, like you all, I'm still trying to make sense of the whole situation, which is pretty fucked up. I think what we fans need to do, is sure, this tragedy is bad, and puts a dark cloud over the sport we love to watch, but at the same time, remember that Benoit was/is once a good man and a great performer, whom we all loved to watch perform.

Chris Benoit was scheduled to appear at the WWE SmackDown/ ECW live event in Beaumont, Texas

3:30pm
A co-worker received a voice message from Benoit. The message from Benoit stated he missed his flight and over slept and would be late to the WWE Live Event. The co-worker called Benoit back, Benoit confirmed everything he said in his voice message and sounded tired and groggy. Benoit then stated, “I love you”. The co-worker stated that it was “out of context.”

3:42pm
The same co-worker was concerned with Benoit’s tone and demeanor and called Benoit for a second time. Benoit did not answer the call and the co-worker left a message stating “just call me back.”

3:44pm
Benoit called the co-worker back stating he didn’t answer the call because he was on the phone with Delta changing his flight. Benoit stated he had a real stressful day due to Nancy and Daniel being sick with food poisoning. They discussed travel plans for the WWE Tour of Texas with Benoit still sounding groggy at this point according to the co-worker.

4:30pm
A co-worker who consistently travels with Benoit, called Benoit from outside Houston airport and Benoit answered. Benoit told the co-worker that Nancy was throwing up blood and that Daniel was also throwing up. Benoit thought they had food poisoning. Benoit stated he changed his flight and he would be arriving into Houston at 6:30pm. Benoit told the co-worker to drive onto the WWE event.

5:35pm
Benoit called WWE Talent Relations stating that his son was throwing up and that he and Nancy were in the hospital with their son, and that Benoit would be taking a later flight into Houston, landing late, but would make the WWE live event in Beaumont.

6:10pm
A representative of Talent Relations called Benoit. The representative from Talent Relations asked Benoit what time Benoit was getting into Beaumont. Benoit responded he was leaving Atlanta at 9:20pm Eastern time arriving into Houston at 9:24pm Central time. The representative from Talent Relations advised Benoit that it would be too late to make the WWE live event in Beaumont. Benoit apologized citing he had a family emergency. The representative from Talent Relations suggested to Benoit that instead of going to the WWE live event in Beaumont, Benoit should take the flight to Houston, rest up and be ready for the Vengeance Pay-Per-View event.

6:13pm
The representative from Talent Relations called Benoit to reconfirm the travel plans with no answer from Benoit. The representative from Talent Relations left a voice message to take the flight and rest up.

WWE contacted the Fayetteville County Sheriff’s office and requested them to go to Benoit’s residence

4:00pm
WWE received a call from the Fayetteville County Sheriff’s office, advising that they entered the house of Benoit and found 3 deceased bodies (a male, a female and a child). The Fayette County Sheriff’s office has secured the house as a “major crime scene” and that the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office had no further information.

TNA sent a text to Mobile subscribers last night that Scott Steiner will be arriviing home from Puerto Rico sometime today. He had been hospitalized in Puerto Rico for three weeks, or about as long as Paris Hilton has been in jail thus far. Steiner won't be able to comeback until at least the fall.

TNA sent out another text to Mobile subscribers that Ricky Banderas was at the Impact taping last week. Related to the story, he was filming vignettes during the taping on Tuesday. Furthermore, Konnan's quitting of the company last week may have an affect on Banderas being used in TNA. He was the liason between TNA and Banderas, who lives in Mexico and works for the AAA promotion - the same promotion as Konnan.
