After their latest fallout earlier this month, Stone Cold Steve Austin and WWE are once again back on good terms.
On the RAW before Taboo Tuesday, Vince McMahon announced that Austin had been in an accident and as a result, the former WWE Champion would be unable to participate in his match against Jonathan Coachman. While Steve Austin was reportedly very upset with WWE when he found out he was scheduled to lose to Coachman, WWE officials do believe that Austin was legitimately hurt. Austin did indeed suffer an injury to his lower back and an inflamed sciatic nerve when he fell while moving furniture over the weekend. Austin would have had to been heavily medicated to get through the match and it was concluded that putting him in that situation was simply not worth it.
WWE still plans to have Austin wrestle Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 22. Vince McMahon and Hogan are very anxious to sign the match, while Steve Austin remains understandably hesitant.
And The Undertaker is returning at Survivor Series................

Angle better get the belt sunday cena's run with the belt has been a failure the guy cant wrestle and his mic skills are overated. He sounds like a little white kid trying to act black. I cant take it anymore angle is the most deserving of the belt in the wwe by far.

lol,I finally played SVR2006 today.I don't really like it that much but I like the way THQ made it more realistc. But other than that I don't like it.It's the way the SD games "feel" I don't like.
yeah,Angle deserves the belt imo(he's my favorite wrestler).BTW,did anyone buy John Cena's album?I hear he actually shows skill on the cd than that corny stuff he does on TV.

I doubt Austin signs on for that match, at least not in 2006. He'll probably reappear at RAW sometime soon though... I would think.
Cena must lose now. He was massively booed during the last show, even though that was in England. There were some louder than normal "Let's go Angle" chants as well. It's clearly evident the tides have shifted against Cena now though, and I think it's very much time for him to lose. Kurt Angle is the best wrestler WWE has now... it would be foolish for him to come out yet again without the title.

Well Cena's title reign hasn't been a failure... They probably sold a lot of merchandise and Cena's album probably had twice as much buys because of him being the champion... So, business-wise, it's not been a failure. But it's been utterly boring, I'd rather have JBL as champion again than Cena. Kurt Angle desearves the title too much, he'll never win it.

It's cool to see you posting in here now. I never knew you watched.
I agree, at all the show's it seems to be about 50/50 with Cena. Half the crowd loves him, half hates him. WWE is pushing him strong, all his special stuff on wwe.com, his appereances at car races, rap awards, MadTv tomorrow night, etc. WWE is really gunning for the young demographic with him.
That being said, Angle is the true 'Wrestling God' right now, and with Davari as his ref, I have a strong feeling that Angle will be champion in about 120 hours.

See that's the thing. Even though he's the champ right now, he's sorta in the position that Stone Cold was when he was gaining steam and becoming popular. It wasn't till after his great match against Owen when more people started becomeing full fans. Cena's apperances and such is more of the puch to attract those younger fans. But unlike Austin, he hasn't had that 'defining' match I don't think. Yeah he beat JBL, but c'mon. JBL ain't exactly Macho Man Randy Savage in his prime, so let's be honest about that.
I think his match against Angle will be his make it or break it with the fans. If he can't make the match as good as he needs it to be win or lose, then that'll be the story of him for the next few months. A guy who can only do decent and not 'great' matches. Maybe Angle will show him how great matches are done.
EDIT: OH! And about the show in England. I think the partial reason why the fans weren't into Cena is simply that they don't always get the humor that American fans would get. The part when Cena was going into all the dressing rooms would have gotten more laughs with an American crowd. Though that strange dude with the paint on his face(dunno who he is) was a miss. They could have used someone else. I also think that the UK fans appreciate mic skills less and in ring performance more. Could be wrong.

Dude, you nuts or something? SvR 2006 is by far the best wrestling game ever, period! It's soo cool. I can't wait till I get enough funds to unlock a few legends, like JYD, Bret, and Andre and others. Hey, anyone getting the PSP version to get Jake the Snake? When I can afford to get one, I'm going to get a PSP and this game.
Yeah, I agree, I think the way they got it set up, Angle can't lose. As much as it pains me to type this, Cena will lose Sunday! BTW, I bought his cd, and am probablly one of the few who liked it. I can't wait to get his next one if he puts out another one. I might buy Jericho's Fozzy cds if I can find them.

you can unlock Jake the Snake by drafting him on your second year of the GM mode instead of buying the PSP version.
I didn't really start posting here until Eddie passed away Blade... I had begun to watch it more often lately, so I figured I would keep posting. :(
Anyhow... Cena will never be the next Stone Cold Steve Austin... no matter how hard the WWE tries to force it. He may have comedy skills, but he's seriously lacking in ring ability. For example... the Taboo Tuesday show. All Cena did was take a beating a lay out the ring for most of the match. Then he did his trademark moves and won. How many moves does Cena know anyway? In most of his matches, he gets beat on... the comes back with those Cena clotheslines, does his little "roar" thing followed suplex followed by the Knuckle Shuffle. Then the FU. Angle and HBK carried him through that match, and were the only reason it was entertaining at all, then again they are the best two performers in the WWE now (in my opinion).
It's just not very exciting to see Cena in the ring, and he definitely needs to work on that. Austin's matches were always entertaining to watch, because they were back and forth and not just one big spurt near the end. Austin had (or maybe has) more wrestling talent, in my opinion.
If Angle does lose this match, this is probably the end for the Angle/Cena rivalry for the time being. After all, Angle has been after this belt for a while now... and failing to win it yet again would only hurt his character.

Yeah. You can call almost every move he's going to do during a match. Like it or not, this is probably what Cena's in ring performance is going to be for the rest of his carrier.

Well, Austin has a pretty good technical wrestler in WCW and when he joined WWF/WWE. His neck injury along of knee problems restricted him from being as active in the ring as he was in the past. Cena has basic in ring capabilities with some signature moves of his own. He's not as rounded as Austin was, so he can't make a long match interesting to watch. Even when Austin couldn't do as much in the ring as he did when he was healthy, he still had several very good matches against Benoit. I doub't Cena would even know how to work with Benoit to make a match watchable.

I think win or lose, Angle/Cena will go on for a while and it should leading to Angle eventually getting the title.

I played again a little more in a single match today.I like it more now.Much better than SVR.I hope they'll fix the camera in the next SD game in Tag Team Matches.I always hated the way how the camera was far away.Other than that it's good.Much better the 2nd time around than the 1st.

Tag matches are a pain in the butt... I can never get my partner to attack the other guy's partner when I'm trying to pin him... He just stands there like an idiot waiting for the other guy to break the three count so that he can attack the guy I was pinning... Ridiculous.
Well... Survivor Series comin' up. I wonder how Undertaker will make his return without wrestling Orton?
Who will go into the elimination match as the world's heavyweight wrestling champion? Team leader Batista or Randy Orton? I'm sure we'll see Benoit vs. Booker added to the match this Friday too. Hopefully Sharmell gets kicked out of the arena soon into the match so we can enjoy a nice, balanced and clean match like the ones they put on during the best of five series in WCW. Damn their final match at the Great American Bash had some really rough stuff in here... that Dragon Suplex Benoit hit on Booker was tight. It's a shame the finish sucked so much.
Anyways just wanted to say I'm loving Smackdown! vs RAW 2006. It really plays alot better than the other Smackdown!s, even though there is that awful AI to cope with in tag team matches, where your opponent's partner ALWAYS breaks up your pin attempts and your partner never stops him, even though you do the right control. Oh well.

Tag matches are so easy in season mode, all you gotta do is tag in your partner, and since you arent the legal person you can keep the legal person from the other team outside of the ring and have him counted out.

Yeah I use that cheap technique as well... Either that or send my opponent over the top rope and let the other guy keep him there until he is counted out. Of course, I'm only forced to use it because doing it the "proper" way is as frustrating as teaching a chicken how to play chess.

I only do that in handicap matches. I was having a match which was Kane vs Regal and Carlito in GM mode yesterday and it took a hell of a long time. I gave up on trying to pin so i got Carlito counted out.
For tag team its not that bad. Usually just before I pin the opponent I press up on the controller pad and my partner will at least stop the other guy 90% of the time.

Tag matches are so easy in season mode, all you gotta do is tag in your partner, and since you arent the legal person you can keep the legal person from the other team outside of the ring and have him counted out.

That just makes the game harder, IMO. I don't want to just WIN the matches, I want to have fun. And sometimes my opponent goes to the outside, and I have a hard time trying to get my opponent back in the ring so I can pin him because my partner just keeps beating the crap out of him.

Their match at Survivor Series should be good, but even if this "best of seven series" does live up to par, keep in mind that it won't be the WWE's fault, but the fault will lie with the wrestlers, they are far from their primes and the shape they were in back in WCW, so don't expect too much, not that I'm taking anything away from either man.
As for SD this week, watched last night, good show, not as good as Raw though.

SVR 2K6 can be super realistic sometimes. Pretty much all the matches I have are good now.
Last night I was having Abyss vs Rob Conway. Killing Conway the whole time. Then I go to clothesline him but he ducks under my arm and bounces off the ropes and runs towards me,BAM black hole slam. That was one of the coolest things ive done so far.
Btw the black hole slam is in irish whip counters called Scrap Buster.

midway wont take over the wwe games, as they have already signed to make tna's games.
speaking of games, i really didnt like the new sdvr game. its ok and all, but i like last years better. the new game is way to glitchy. if you are running and hit square to avoid being hit (or dodge/duck) you will get glitched up and turn and run the opposite way. the general feel of the game feels..herky-jerky. the wrestlers feel like mech-puppets, and the game feels way slower than last years sdvr.
they added more grapples..which is both good and bad. i don tlike the idea of 2 button irish whips :/ it gets on my nerves really bad.
the commentary still sucks, and theres a lot of it that was carried over from the last game.
dont get me started on the stamina shit..thank god you can turn it off.
hardly any new match modes. the fantasy match is a glitchy waste of fucking space. they could have had bullrope, "something" on a pole, and the list goes on. the burried alive match was dissapointing and takes waayy too long. 2 ladders in a ladder match was cool..for the first 2 seconds as you cant do anything with them. just the same ol crap from last year. its cool that they added an old style cage..but still cant go out the cage door:( backstage/bar room brawls should have been cut.
the create a wrestler still sucks. it was good in the sd just bring it, after that, they just got lazy and mate it a "pattern only" thing. a lot of stuff is gone, and barely anything new added (no stinger paint..wtf)
all in all, its a decent game. its got the best grpahics of any wrestling game..but they fucked up the gameplay. it makes it feel like an arcade fighter, rather than a wrestling game. its a good game dont get me wrong..but id still rather play last years sd over this one.
