Ok, we know how much I follow wrestling by the amount of posts in this thread (probably zero, maybe less).

But I have heard about guerrero. And it is a shame. I was wondering if anybody could be so kind as to translate what Lillian Garcia said at the end of her interview this evening. TIA

Once it ends, I'll rewind the cassette and get you an exact translation, pal.

But I do recall her saying "Te quiero mucho", which means "I love you a lot."

EDIT: Here's what Lilian said:
"Te quiero muchisimo, y espero que Dios este contigo. Adios."
TRANSLATION: "I love you very much, and I hope God is with you. Goodbye."

Yes it was...Benoit broke down in that.

Very emotional night. I dont cry alot but tonight, and yesterday had my crying alot. Its really sad,I still cant believe it. Everytime I begin to say anything about him I tear up.

Cena got some new respect from me tonight. What he did with his title and the Eddie shirt was great.

On smackdown,im hoping that Benoit and Chavo have a match.

All of the promos were really touching, but especially Benoit, Mysterio and Batista's. The tribute show was great overall, though the thing with Cowboy Orton at the end really wasn't needed and made him look like an asshat.

Cena gained some respect points from me for his opening promo and the ending... first time I've actually enjoyed seeing Cena in a long time.

In case some of you haven't found it. There are lists of the fights for Today and Fri/Sun Depending on where you live (I.E. Smackdown)
I read this earlier this afternoon (3 PM) And It's 11 now. In case Some of you don't want to know how many matches, who fights, who wins, what moves are used, and what the bumpers, tributes, and the rest is. I'll put it in spoiler format. Let me just say that what you'll see Batista do on Smackdown may break your heart. So if you don't wanna know don't highlight. This even tells how long a match lasts (from bell to winner declaration). For those that would like to know, the information is here for you. And as much as I didn't watch wrestling, I liked Eddie Guerrero, and seen him quite a bit. Out of the 'new' stars, I like him an Rey Mystereo.
Please, do not highlight if you don't want to know what happens on Smackdown later this week!
SMACKDOWN TAPING
Eddie's theme song played, and Batista drove the low-rider to ringside. Batista cut a promo in the ring, saying, "€I can€'t believe you're gone."Â? Batista is crying. He said that Eddie loved his family and he loved the wrestling business. He said he knows Eddie has found peace. As Batista left, he placed the WWE title on the hood of the low-rider; the title sat there for the rest of the show. Classy.
(9) Matt Hardy defeats Carlito at 6:01.
Fun match. Matt cheated early, grabbing Carlito by his hair to hold onto a headlock, then he slammed Carlito's face into the corner repeatedly. Carlito hit some punches; he went for a move off the top rope, but Matt got his foot up to block it. Matt hit a high backbody drop, then a Side Effect for a nearfall. Carlito hit a Lungblower/double knees to the back for a nearfall.
Hardy hit the second-rope guillotine legdrop. Carlito blocked a Twist of Fate. However, a moment later, Hardy hit the Twist of Fate for the pin. Good match.
Vince McMahon did the next backstage interview. He said Eddie will be remembered as one of the greats, and he loved to perform. Vince cried a bit too, saying that Eddie loved his family. "Eddie was a damn good man,"Â? McMahon said.
(10) Animal & Heidenreich defeat Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch at 4:50.
I heartily booed the new LOD. Heidenreich and Cade started the match, and Heidenreich hit some punches and a clothesline. Murdoch beat up Heidenreich on the floor. In the ring, Murdoch hit a loud chop. Animal made the hot tag at 4:00, and he hit a shoulder tackle, then a double shouldertackle on both Cade & Murdoch. LOD hit the Doomsday device, and Animal pinned Cade.
Wow, Animal is really fat, and really slow. All he could be trusted to do in this match was hit two shouldertackles. Nepotism has been good to Animal. He makes Heidenreich look like a good worker.
Big Show did a backstage interview, saying Eddie was full of life. "He's with God now," Show said.
(11) Chavo Guerrero defeats JBL (w/Jillian Hall) at 8:29.
A memorable match, and I think it is my favorite of this show. (No Kerwin White tonight, and hopefully, never again!) The crowd loudly chanted, "Chavo!" Chavo hit some armdrags and a plancha to the floor. JBL tried to hide behind Jillian. In the ring, Chavo hit a missile dropkick. JBL hit a Samoan Drop, then a swinging neckbreaker, and he applied a sleeper. The crowd chanted, "Eddie!"
Chavo came back with a dropkick, and they both were down. Chavo hit a headscissors takedown, a DDT, and he brought a chair into the ring. He did Eddie's spot, where he tossed the chair to JBL, and he CRASHED to the mat; the ref turned around and admonished JBL for hitting him with the chair, as JBL pleaded innocent. The crowd is EATING this up. The ref took the chair and put it outside the ring; this allowed Chavo to hit a low blow, hit the Three Amigos/rolling suplexes, and hit the Frogsplash for the pin.
Chavo drank in the love from the crowd, as he mouthed "Thank you" to us. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he said on the mic. He said that Eddie devoted his life to this business. Classy, memorable match.
(12) Juventud won an 11-man cruiserweight battle royal at 5:48.
In the only sign of Raw vs. Smackdown war on this show, the nine smackdown cruiserweights beat up on the two Raw men ( Gregory Helms and Tajiri ) as soon as the bell rang. Brian "Spanky" Kendrick was tossed first. Super Crazy, Tajiri, Sho Funaki, Kid Kash, Gregory Helms, Scotty 2 Hotty, and Psicosis all were flipped out, in that order.
We are down to just Juventud, Paul London, and Nunzio. Juvy and London worked together to flip out Nunzio. Juventud sat on London'™s shoulder and did a Victory Roll, holding onto the top rope, while flipping London to the floor. Good action.
(13) Chris Benoit defeats Triple H at 12:41.
Triple H stalled on the floor. Benoit applied the Crippler Crossface, but Triple H escaped and he stalled on the floor some more. Benoit followed him, and he hit some chops on the floor. In the ring, Benoit unloaded a series of punches, and Triple H did a Flair Flop.
Triple H whipped Benoit into the corner, and Benoit crashed into the turnbuckle HARD, and the crowd popped for it. Triple H worked on Benoit'™s back, and he hit a spinebuster. Benoit fought back with some more chops. Triple H applied a sleeper, but Benoit eventually reversed it and applied his own sleeper.
Benoit blocked a Pedigree. Benoit hit three consecutive German Suplexes, then the top-rope flying headbutt for a nearfall. Benoit again blocked the Pedigree, and he applied a Crippler Crossface. Triple H wouldn't submit. Benoit rolled Triple H over while the Crossface was still applied, and he scored the pin.
They hugged in the ring. Dean Malenko came out, and he hugged Benoit. "We've lost a brother we loved dearly," Benoit said. "Eddie was a true inspiration." They left the ring as Eddie's theme song played.
Final thoughts: A memorable night of wrestling. As a long time wrestling fan, I first saw Eddie when he surfaced in WCW (in 1996?) He truly was a great entertainer. I saw Eddie vs. Rey numerous times live, and they were always fun matches. I remember one of the first times I saw Eddie live, he fought Dean Malenko. Dean had gotten the upper hand, and Eddie ran, on his knees, to the corner to hug the ref for dear life. God, how the crowd HATED Eddie when he did that.
The man knew how to draw emotion out of the crowd. And he was such a fantastic worker. I recall seeing Eddie vs. Diamond Dallas Page at a house show, before Page was good at all, and they tore it down.

Man, I only caught about the last half, when the chicks had their fight. From what I saw, it was a beautiful show. Well done by WWE. I still can't believe it. Like Rey Rey said, it's like a dream....you keep expecting to wake up. Just so random. "sigh" Damnit....this sucks.

I gained a lot of respect for many of the wrestlers. I read Tests post, too. Pretty much what I expected, though, I didn't know pain pills were such a huge problem. That sucks.

What's TNA's routine? Do they simply do one show, then just chill, train, and work on stuff the rest of the weak? I guess some dudes do indy stuff. I know Gail is big into fund raisers and what not. But does TNA have a pretty easy, laid back style? That's what I've been lead to beleive. If such is the case, I wouldn't be suprised if a lot of peeps jump over, now.

Anyway, Christian in TNA is gold, pure gold. Can't wait for the next prime time special, too. I REALLY enjoyed the first one.

Edit: Whoa, someone else visits PWTorch? Nice! I though I was the only only one, haha. Everyones all about SESCOOPS!!! and The Wrestling Observer!! grin

From what i've heard, they do a few weeks worth of tapings fairly close together, so instead of having to come in each week, they only have to come in for a week or so, which free's them up a lot for the rest of the month. Also the fact that they don't have to travel all over must be a big plus. I've heard it's pretty easy on the guys that work there, which is something Christian brought up - it gives more time to pursue his acting career etc (I believe Jericho even brought this up recenlty while talking about TNA's positives). But reading some of these guys schedules, it's like they don't get a break at all. I read Joe's today and he working every day for about two weeks, and I think only one or two of those days was for TNA.

I was thinking along the same lines though. For the WWE guys that are perhaps a little tired of being on the road all the time, TNA must look pretty good. Especially considering that unless you're main eventing in WWE, you can make just as much money out of WWE as you can in it, and that almost any established name could walk into TNA and be almost guaranteed a huge push right now. I hope we see London back in TNA soon along with a few others that seem to get overlooked by WWE. It doesn't too sound too crazy when I think about it.

Man, I ain't been so emotional during a Raw since Owen died, and man was that show emotional. Great Raw over all, Eddie would have been so proud to see everyone giving it their all in tribute to him. I also want to add that the official cause of death is now known, heart failure brought on by the years of alcohol and drug abuse, and the constant schedule these guys indure. sad

When Vince asked everyone to stand for a moment of scilence, I stood as well. I felt such sorrow and anger after hearing about Owen's death. He was a great performer and a good man. But I have to say I was deeply hurt about Eddie's death and a couple friends of mine feel the same way.

Having learned of Eddie's troubles and watching the UPN special in May of last year, it's almost like he allowed you to get a glimpse into his soul. I mean... how many guys in the business push aside their personnas and show you who they really are, where they come from and what's going on with them? I think that's why there's so much shock and sadness about his passing. Most of the time, it's after a wrestler's death that we find out how funny, toubled, devoted, and loving they were. With Eddie, we knew pratically everything about him like he was one of our friends that we see regularly on t.v. and know who he was going home to when he got the chance.

I suppose that's why this hurts so much, speaking for myself. And we saw that as Chavo, Paul(Big Show), Shawn, Batista, Rey, and other's spoke about him. When Chavo told that story of their first wrestling match against each other and their matches at the intermissions, I liked that cause it's something that most people had never heard and it siad something about where they came from. Benoit's comments were just.... sad Even watching him say those words was heartbreaking. I'm not sure I want to watch Smackdown Friday cause Raw almost did it for me. I couldn't even get into some of the matches except for a couple.

Yes Chris Benoits piece was heartbreaking. I saw Chirs Benoit, Stephanie McMahon, and Batista as the saddest ones, because I have never seen them so saddened. Batista, I could just imagine how shattered he felt when he got that phone call about Eddie Guerrero, I saw that and I started leaking tears too. Chris Benoit, Oh man, I could not stop crying after I saw him, I felt so bad, and I had a lump in my throat so big i could barely breath. I couldn't stand it, seein my favorite wrestler cry over another. And Stephanie, I couldn't believe that he talked to her the other day, hoping he would become champion, I started crying again. That was the most saddest Raw I have ever seen in my life.sad

Mileena vs Trish will be a good one. I was curious to see if Mileena went at Mickie James in that battle royal, as they have very much beef outside the ring.

Yeah the Dudley's is terrible lol. Watch out watch out watch watch out for the bombfall! But TNA does have some good themes. Such as Christopher Daniels (I know its disposable teens but it still kicks ass), Simon Diamond and the diamonds in the rough, Jeff Jarrett (I like something about the beginning) etc.

Yeah, I'm digging the sig to, Blade. Good stuff.

Is it just me, or has Big Vito REALLY gotten into shape? Like, I remember in WCW, he was fairly pugey. Now, I look at him, and he's gotten hella jacked. I couldn't even recognize him at first, I was like wtf, lol.

Christy has been impressive, she's come quite a ways in her short time. She's actually trying to wrestle and learn, too. I appreciate that.

Anyone get SVR2006 yet? I was really thinking aobut buying it, but I'm tight for cash and christams is coming. I mark out and buy my peeps gifts like crazy, but if this game really is all that its been hyped, I prolly pick it up. Though, specifically, how's CAW, compared to HCTP?

Picked up SVR2006 on Tuesday. It took a little getter used too and I'm still up in the air on my final opinion on it, but it's fun so far. Everything I had a problem with from just seeing the videos was never fixed, so that really pissed me off, and I'm not too keen on the voices offered in CAW (three rather lame ones and two suited for black CAWs). My biggest beef with the CAW mode is that they changed it so that a particular body paint design that I've used for the past few games for a design on my CAW's attire can't be colored completly white. No matter what I do it ends up with a lot of ugly spoltches and I've had to come up with something new this time around. As for how it compares to HCTP's CAW, it's reletivly about the same. Lots of new improvments, but a fair amount of stuff you may have been used too have been altered or omitted (like the example I gave). The Create-An-Entrance was a lot of fun though, and it's where I had the most fun (outside of matches). It takes some time to get used to where to place the cameras and stuff, but once you get that down the rest comes easy. The only bad thing is that if you had planed to "fix" Batista's entrance (to add the pyro to the machine gun taunt he does), forget it. The pyro can't be timed that way.

Blade, aweseome sig man, I love it! wink

Picked up svr2006 yesterday, haven't played it just yet.

Couple of news tidbits:

** Chavo Guerrero Drops "Kerwin White" Character**

In light of the passing of Eddie Guerrero, his cousin Chavo Guererro has decided to drop the Kerwin White character, a gimmick that had former WWE tag team champion denouncing his Hispanic heritage in favor of a new image as a middle-class white man. It is unknown what will happen with Nick Nemeth, the new RAW superstar who had been brought in as Kerwin's golf caddy. He will likely be repackaged.

His WWE.com Superstar Profile has been updated accordingly:

http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/chavoguerrero/

The profile reads: "After spending the majority of his WWE career on SmackDown, Chavo was traded to RAW after the 2005 Draft Lottery. In his short time on RAW, Chavo has continued to leave his mark, ably carrying the torch for his famous family." - No mention of the Kerwin White character.

**WWE Releases Eddie Guerrero Tribute T-Shirt**

WWE has released a t-shirt commemorating the life of Eddie Guerrero. The shirt costs $20 and all proceeds are donated to Eddie's family.

From the WWE Shopzone:

Eddie Guerrero Tribute T-shirt

Since the untimely death of beloved WWE Superstar Eddie Guerrero there has been an outpouring of support from fans around the world. In response to this WWE is paying tribute to one of Wrestling’s greatest by releasing a commemorative t-shirt in his honor. Show your support of the legacy and family of Eddie Guerrero by purchasing this t-shirt. All proceeds are being donated to the family of Eddie Guerrero.
