Finally a maker for the TNA game is announced, which will be none other then Midway. I own alot of Midway games, and love them. Hopefully they'll do good with it,im buying it regardless though.

I have a feeling that Kane might win the Vote for the WWE championship!!

I don't know why , but they should have a vote to pick any two WWE superstars to go for the Tag Team titles instead of the Same Three WWE Championship picks!

Here are my votes for the sake of it:

Eugene + Jimmy Snuka VS Conway
The divas thing I don't remember which one I voted, I usually skip the female wrestling matches anyway.
Carlito VS Mankind
Austin VS Coach in a Street Fight (duh)
HHH VS Flair in a Submission Match
Edge & Masters VS Christian & JBL (Edge & Christian on opposite sides? lol)
John Cena VS Kurt Angle VS Kane

HBK will win the voting and it's stupid to think otherwise. He's EASILY the most popular of the three and add to that, the WWE is very obviously pushing him to get voted into the three way.

Taboo Tuesday will suck, unless Holly gets voted into the tag match. Because Holly in the Masterlock would make me smile.

I voted, but I voted for the least likely to win.

Eugene + Kamala vs Conway
Carlito vs Dude Love
The Coach vs Austin in a verbal debate
HHH vs Flair in a regular match
I voted Hardcore Holly for the Smackdown Superstar against Edge/Masters
And I voted Cena vs Angle vs Kane
and I didnt vote for the diva match cause I could really care less

Yeah, that's going to be cool. Can't wait to see what Midway has in store for it. I hope they include a standard 4-sided ring for nostalgia, not saying I don't like the 6-sided ring, just want the option of one or the other, and include Moster's Ball and Ultimate X.

From IGN Sports:

For the last couple of years, rumors have run rampant about a TNA videogame. First, EA looked to grab the license, but ultimately no agreement was reached. Next up was Rockstar, but TNA balked at the game ideas (you can't hit a wrestler with hot coffee!). Finally, sources now say that Midway has stepped up and signed TNA to an exclusive videogame deal, and it's no surprise as Viacom's Sumner Redstone has ties to both Spike (TNA's new home on TV) and the videogame publisher.

Word is that the game is in development for the PS2 and Xbox, and some wrestlers have already been brought in for initial motion-capture work.

It will be interesting what the creative minds at Midway have in store for TNA's innovative six-sided ring and matches like Ultimate X (wrestlers pulling moves off wires 15-feet above the ring) and Monster's Ball (thumbtacks, tables, and chairs, oh my!).

This isn't the first time Midway has stepped inside the squared-circle, but it has definitely been a while. Fans of wrestling games will remember that it was Midway who produced the extremely popular WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game. The game featured stars like Doink the Clown busting outrageous combos with his Circus Hammer, and The Undertaker would even smack you upside the head with a tombstone if you weren't careful. Wrestlemania was designed by members of the old NBA Jam team, and some of those designers, including Mark Turmell, still work for the Chicago publisher.

No word yet on when you might see stars like Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, Raven, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe turn polygonal, but IGN Sports will keep you up to date as soon as more information is revealed about this title.

And it looks like Cena may be starring in the upcoming Predator remake. God, I hope so. Maybe then he'd drop the title and leave WWE for a while!

It was wonderful. Sure, people say the movies sucked, but I set records at the box office. My name was bigger then my acting. Plus you can't tell me 'No Holds Barred' isn't a classic.

Yeah, I just got done reading that IGN article and was going to post it. Kind of pisses me off. We get a TNA game, but Midway? Man, thats' low tier. I hope they dont' butcher it. Anyone know why TNA wouldn't let EA pick it up? Can you say Def Jam? Man, a golden opportunity, missed. Sad, sad.

Don't poopoo it yet. I never played Midway's "Wrestlemania the Arcade game" but people have said it was a classic, so give them a chance, they might surprise you. THQ has turned out some stinkers in the past, but I think that if they weren't doing WWE and only WWE games, they could make a killer TNA game! As for EA, I think they should just stick to hockey, football and basketball games!

** Vinnie Mac is taking this whole sue/copyright thing too far again:

At the most recent TNA tapings, during a segment involving the Dudleys, now known as Team 3D, the crowd broke out in an ECW-chant. This could bring TNA some potential legal troubles if it's not edited out from the final show that will air on Spike TV.

WWE has previously complained about the ECW chants, saying that ECW is their copyrighted phrase and cannot be used on competition's products.

They threatened the Hardcore Homecoming ECW reunion promotion with this, and had them edit out all of the ECW chants throughout the entire show on their DVDs before shipping them out to retail stores. There were quite a few throughout the show, and needless to say, the lack of them really took away from the final product.

I remember Wrestlemania the Arcade game. That was years ago. If you played In Your House then you've got a good idea what it was like. I've got this sinking feeling in my stomach for a Midway produced TNA game. I'm thinking at best it could be like the Legends of Wrestling series (which, frankly, is a shitty series) at worst, dare I say "WCW Backstage Assault" **shivers**.

Wrestlemania arcade was the shit, Undertaker had a fatality. wink

I can't believe you guys are so harsh on Taboo Tuesday. Last year's was one of the best Pay-Per-Views of the year. Granted it had Shelton stepping up and some other things, still it was great.

Ok, the WWE is 'pushing' who they want, and the matches they want. Perhaps. But think of it as a gauge. Say HBK wins, and I hope he does, WWE is still gonna look hard at the votes for Big Slow and Kane. Enough votes might let the WWE know who to push next.

Plus nothing is set in stone. They say on Smackdown! tomorrow night, Matt Hardy gets the biggest pop out of the 5, so JBL and Rey might not be a lock. Though in this match I do predict to see all 5 in the arena, setting up the Survivor Series match even more.

Speaking of Smackdown!, that bump Benoit took last week was fucking INSANE.

LOL! "WCW Backstage Assault" was an ok game, and I say that as a true wrestling geek, and someone who owns lots of wrestling games, both good and bad! wink smile

Don't even compare the "Legends" games to anything Midway makes, cause there is no comparison, Acclaim is dead and buried cause they couldn't make a decent game, and Midway is alive and well, and I say, give them a chance, they might make an ok game. And I doubt we'll see AJ Styles perform a fatality on Jeff Jarrett! Though that would be cool. tongue grin

I hade Wrestlemania: The Arcade game and it kinda sucked but yes, it was a classic because there weren't many playable wrestling games around. Actually the only real cool thing about it was the character sprites which were in the same mood as the 3 first MKs (photorealistic). The character endings were ultra-silly as well but they were good for some laughs.
