MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 31)
CTR ultimately secured her third reign as KFL Champion, intense training paying off in a close fought match. Ninja_Mime will inevitably stay in the title chase after his respectable performance, but will now step aside for MKOlympic Bronze Medallist, Nephrite, who earned his shot in a similarly close bout with redman! Lurking just outside the main event: Genku, whose +4 impact was the biggest victory of the round -- a fate sealer for recent former-Champion, TheNinjasRock071394!
kentei290 improved his impressive run to go 8-1 against nightbreed_16, whose 10-1 record is now on a steady decline. A 10-1 run should earn kentei290 a similar underdog shot, if he can go the distance! Also in Week 31: Baraka_MK's sequential rise through the ranks took a hit when he faced the deadly duo of CCShadow & Mick-Lucifer!
The challenge period for Week 32 is now open!
Players can challenge any registered opponent to a bout next Friday, with 1v1, 2v2 and 3-Way match types available to those so inclined. Challenges can be made by fighters new and old. Challenging the reigning KFL Champion will solicit a non-title battle, and delay defense for that week. MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 32)
Honor would be restored in a Championship match to be remembered! Nephrite looked strong as he challenged the three-time KFL Champ -- shoulder-to-shoulder with a competitor known to overwhelm opponents. A narrow margin would see CaTigeReptile to the first successful defense of her third reign, but only just! A future rematch seems inevitable as the battle between CTR and Nephrite becomes a rivalry.
Genku heads into Week 33 as the next Championship challenger, successful in a comprehensive +3 win over former-champion, Ninja_Mime! A seasoned heavyweight competitor, Genku will be a serious threat to CTR's reign! With his win over Mime, Genku becomes the only competitor in the league to have a higher impact tally than CTR, going one better with a total of +98!
kentei290 stays in the title hunt, keeping his losses to a single notch (8-1-2) after fighting Jironobou to a tie! A successful stint in three-way competition gave nightbreed_16 new hope, while jack4813 re-entered the race with a massive +7 win over recently resurrected JiminyCroquet! onimike picked up an impressive win on debut, thanks in no small part to his acquaintance with the live arena.

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 33)
You might say their powers cancelled each other out! A standard +1 finished a clash that saw CaTigeReptile looking strong in her defense of the covetted KFL Championship! Against anyone else, Genku might've been a shot, but CTR brought all her powers to the fore in a victory tailor made to erase the disappointments of her recent Olympic campaign. Genku will walk away disappointed with the surprise defeat, but no doubt live to fight another day sometime in the future!
Victory against fellow contenders (Ninja_Mime & Nephrite) looks set to bring TheNinjasRock071394 back to the Championship picture as he resumes his feud with CTR! The two-time title holder clashed unsuccessfully with the Champ twice during her first reign -- will Week 34 be a little history repeating, or does TheNinja have her number? The blitz continues to test CaTigeReptile to the very limit!
Scott-Howell threw his name back in the ring with a solid three-way victory, joining the likes of redman and jack4813 in the outsider stakes. A rematch of the Week 32 draw delivered a massive blow to kentei290's upstart title hopes; Jironobou responsible for kentei's second loss in a 12 match run. Chryo_Spyder fared better, surviving a challenge from Unknown265 with a convincing +2 victory. onimike continued his efforts to follow in the footsteps of the rarely defeated, impressive in a nail biting clash with Asesino!

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 34)
After last week's heavyweight clash with Genku, the potential for collapse was a realistic threat to the Champ -- but CTR looked invigorated, if anything! TheNinjasRock071394 was underwhelming in his attack on the title, allowing CaTigeReptile to fight with ease, like a relaxed arm unburdened of a hefty weight. The +6 would be far from the biggest impact of Week 34, but in a title match with a 2-time champion, it's an impressive end to a comprehensive victory!
Results in the field set up a string of looming contenders, but the title looks likely to take next week off. Scott-Howell did away with a recently dethroned Ninja_Mime, confirming his candidacy for a return to the title. jack4813 also overcame the momentum behind Chryo_Spyder to suggest he may be ready for another shot at the title he last held in April!
redman will no doubt have something to say about the KFL Championship! He reversed his fortunes in rematch with Nephrite, continuing to prove himself among the top ranks! It may yet prove necessary for a three-way battle to determine the next contender to face the increasingly dominant CaTigeReptile!
Honorable mentions to kentei290 and onimike. Their impressive rookie records keep their names highlighted in the list of more than forty League competitors! Sekktor joined the league with an aggressive start, impressive in a convincing victory over LordSkarlet!
The challenge period for Week 35 is now open!

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 35)
Howell was the man to end 's first run back in June, responsible for the conclusion of a record setting reign that featured five successful defenses! CTR had her revenge shortly thereafter, but in her present third reign as Champion, history seemed destined to repeat itself all the same! Scott-Howell looked strong, punching above his weight against a Champion who has fended off some of the most powerful competitors in the league, but couldn't go the distance in this, a hard fought fourth defense!
The unexpected main event left redman and jack4813 to decide things the old fashioned way, a one-on-one clash of contenders delivering redman to his first title opportunity! redman will front the Friday Night Fights of Week 36, stepping up as the first challenger to Scott-Howell's second crown!
The_Purple_Bunny sits outside the contenders circle, delivering another punishing result against SubMan799. The +22 result spurs TPB to the top of the most punishing list, an impact tally of 115 -- 9 better than the dominant former-Champion, CTR! Chyro_Spyder kept in the hunt by inflicting a rare loss to kentei290's tally, while onimike continues the path of percentages. The relative newcomer is now 4-0 after a close fought match with irulegames1234!

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 36)
Scott-Howell may have been KFL Champion before, beating some of the best fighters on his road to glory, but an abrupt victory in Week 35 left some people wondering if luck had a hand. An impressive +5 finish put the exclamation point on a defense that came at the expense of redman's hopes to hit the top -- looking for a fairytale ending in his first Championship match, earned last week with a big win against former-champ, jack4813.
jack4813 kept in the hunt with a hard fought percentage win, edging out Ninja_Mime in a three-way that included 4avenger5. Chryo_Spyder edged his way back to the top of the line, besting Jironobou with a convincing +2 win. The_Purple_Bunny would have the most compelling case, however, utterly dominating former Champion CaTigeReptile in a bout that shut her out of a rematch -- a +13 impact sending shockwaves through the ranks!
No result was more shocking than the challenge issued by relative newcomer, Sekktor! The promising kombatant paid the price for his industriousness, a victim of the dangerous game that comes with challenging seasoned opponents with low power. Sekktor had made a splash with his extra-curricular activity in the arena, but that XP racked up would not be enough to counter the loss of health that made him a soft target for m0s3pH! m0s utterly annihilated his challenger, not only reaching the maximum impact of a +30 win -- but also ending the life of Sekktor in the League's first competitive fatailty!
The IRC Arena now holds Sekktor's only chance to return to competition, where he will have to achieve from the grave to return to life. 1up can be achieved by earning milestone gamerscores, by winning the Daruma 7 mini-game for the first time, or by being active on dates of occult significance (typically in April and August). JiminyCroquet and Zmoke used these methods to recover from Arena-based deaths, earlier in the year.
The challenge period for Week 37 is now open!
October 31 is Halloween! The Arena will be overcome with beasts and ghouls as the creatures of the night have their day (and eve). The League will fend off these spirits with a ceremonial Battle Royale special, where twenty fighters will be drawn at random to compete for a shot at the KFL Championship! The Battle Royal is a special match where players are drawn to fight in an all-out war, eliminating until one fighter is left standing!
