Within each of us there burns the soul of a warrior - and it's time to prove it!
The fight is leaving the arena and tumbling onto the forums as we launch the MKO IRC Kombat Fight League!
MKO's official IRC channel has been playing host to secret wars since late 2010, and now all MKO forum users are encouraged to join the melee!
To register for the Fight League, all you need to do is post in this thread and declare your interest! As a member of the league, you will then be able to challenge your fellow users (by posting), or find yourself in randomized ranking match-ups as part of our weekly Friday Night Fights!
League FNF results will be posted in this thread, giving you the week to once again issue challenges in anticipation of the next round. Grudges and challenges can be decided in 1v1, 2v2 or 3-Way match types, each containing its own unique mix of risk and reward! For the time being, opponents will have to post a reply to accept a challenge. Let's open it up -- all challenges must be answered! (No double appearances in FNF).
How does it all work? Fights earn player XP stats which then contribute to a carefully created fight-simulation algorithm, designed to recreate all the facets of a real battle. In other words -- a Random Number Game! Almost any competitor can win a match, but the greater the XP, the greater the potential to punish your opponents with maximum impact!
You can fight 24/7 and boost your stats by joining MKO's official IRC chan!
For questions and discussion about the IRC, refer to the sticky thread. You can also find links to a variety of connection methods, including MKO's java applet (which is safe for use, but may require confirmation for firewalls).
The commands you need to know on IRC are pretty simple:
!fight NPC -- fight NPC minions & bosses to boost gamerscore (XP)!
!fight [nickname] -- fight an online opponent!
!ID -- check your gamerscore, health, lives!
cheev -- recover health, gain XP & unlock silly achievements!
You must be registered to trigger actions on IRC. Many of you are already registered based on previous appearances in the chat, and may have some stats to start your campaign.
If you don't wanna venture onto IRC, you don't have to!
Registering right here on the forums (by posting in this thread) will lock you in to sit back and enjoy the ride as weekly Friday Night Fights increase your score, win or lose. You'll be missing out on some fun, though.
For more details, visit the Kombat Fight League sub-site!
Short version: post a reply saying you wanna fiiiiight!

That's fine. Everyone can play as little or as often as they like.
Forum dwellers can join up here and literally let the game do the rest, if they so please. Registrants will be automatically entered into randomized match-ups for the weekly Friday Night Fight events (results posted here). They can also user-specific challenges in this thread at any point and take on those opponents, if they accept.
IRC is the extra dimension, expanding the experience into text-based real-time shenanigans with greater levels of risk/reward. Forum registration will always be open, though, so there's no pressure to rush to IRC.

MKO Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (Week 1)
Ninja_Mime had a comfortable win. Genku ran away with it in a big result!
The numbers listed after matches indicate the degree of impact (dmg) inflicted by the fight. Winners receive the positive, losers the negative. Players can recover additional power (health) by joining the IRC chat and by cheeving. You can monitor your power by typing !ID. Everyone gets gamerscore (XP) from their battles, and the circus continues next week!
Anyone coming in late should feel encouraged to sign up by posting in this thread. You can play exclusively through the forum, or take a more active tact by jumping on IRC for a real time experience.
As promised, the winners went into a random draw for the very last of our Gotham City Impostors 360 Beta Codes! The winner is Genku! Kongratulations! Be sure to tell us all how you get on with it! The beta period is finite, so don't delay. (FNF won't always be this early.)
You can follow records and results with the KFL sub-site.
You can join in any point by posting your interest. Friday Night Fights will continue next Friday!

FNF2 kicks off tomorrow! If you're keen to be in, be sure to sign-up now!
Anyone can sign-up at any point, so don't fret if you miss out on week 2.
Week 3 will be open challenges. You can challenge any KFL registrant and providing they aren't already pinned to a match, they'll answer it in the next FNF! If you've got a little beef with someone on the boards, maybe you wanna invite them to join and try their luck!
To celebrate the release of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, we'll have a special throwdown on February 28 where winners will pick up Dragon Points! Plenty of time to boost your XP before then! Cheers!

MKO Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (Week 2)
It was a positively cordial affair this week! Stat-based matchmaking delivered an array of close fought match-ups once again, with minimum +1 impacts top to bottom! How polite!
That wraps up our second Friday Night Fights! It's that simple!
Anyone can sign-up and get in on the fun at any point, simply post in here and declare your interest (as others have). It will be great to expand the potential match-ups with new additions, I am sure. Week 3 begins open challenges -- if you fancy taking on one of the other registered and ranked fighters, deliver your demand here! Match types include 1v1, 3way, and if you've got a buddy to partner with, 2v2!
Week 3 continues, as normal, next Friday.
To celebrate the release of Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition on February 28, we'll have ourselves a special shindig, where winners will receive a Dragon Point, as well as rankings glory!
Try your lucky hand with the XP you build just from participating, or improve your fighting potential by jumping into the realm of IRC, where the game is always on! Kombat Online on Mortal Kombat Online!

MKO Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (Week 3)
It was a bit of everything this week! We saw the closest battles yet in opening, only to have the mid-card spread more damage than ever before! What drama!
Anyone can sign-up to join at any time. All you have to do is post in this thread. Here's also where registered players can make challenges for Week 4 -- starting now! 1v1, 3-way and 2v2 are available! These match types will no doubt come into play February 28, when we celebrate the release of MK: Komplete Edition with a special event -- awarding Dragon Points to the winners!
Playing is as simple or as involving as you like. Try your lucky hand with the XP you build just from participating on the forum, or improve your fighting potential by teleporting to the realm of IRC, where the game is always on! It's Kombat Online on Mortal Kombat Online!

MKO Kombat Fight League: Friday Night Fights (Week 4)
The bredth of fighting potential continues to be explored as fighters deliver above average damage to their opponents! The field remains even, but how long will it last?
GhostDragon fared better in his return to KFL, while SubMan799 secured a big time victory, overcoming statistical disadvantage against the veteran, Ninja_Mime! Methuselah6463 and dibula were back in the winners circle, while Nephrite and Jerrod had a disappointing week between them.
February 28 marks the release of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for home consoles, and to celebrate, we're going to have ourselves a special Komplete Edition KFL event! Every fighter registered will have their chance to battle it out, with winners securing Dragon Points and the chance to win one of two official MK collectible pins! Newcomers are welcome, but you must be registered before Feb. 28!
The challenge period for FNF Week 5 is now open.
Players can challenge any registered opponent to a bout next Friday, with 1v1, 2v2 and 3-Way match types available to those so inclined.

I'm filing a protest over this. I was not online at the time m0sh faced me, and therefore could not defend myself.
I want a rematch, and rematches after that if necessary, until I am the winner.
