Nephrite picks up a tough but convincing victory in the opening match against Finland's Zmoke. Coming into these Olympics an outsider prospect for the KFL title, Nephrite may have hoped to do more than a minimum +1 impact. Group B starts with a bang as two of the favourites collide in a battle of borders! Ninja_Mime has to emerge an early favourite in the pools, securing a solid +3 victory over former Champion, jack4813! Team USA will be looking for a big win to stay in the medal hunt as pools continue tomorrow!

Internet Relay Kombat Olympics - Day 2 (July 29, 2012)
[Group A] Zentile
d. Zmoke
[+1]
Hopes for a Finnish medal took a hefty blow Day 2 - a close fought match little consolation for Zmoke, who suffered his second pool loss. A glossy run since his mid-season IRK debut was enough to position Zentile as the stronger man, but the +1 impact won't be enough to secure qualification in such an evenly matched group. The right permutation could even see Zmoke bouncing back, but he'll have to win the big in the remainder of his matches.
[Group B] jack4813
d. Maridany
[+2]
Unlike his Group A counterpart, jack4813 had the right recipee for a Day 2 comeback! The former KFL Champion wasn't at his best, but managed a comfortable victory against besieged Venezuelan, Maridany. Maridany's Olympic preparations haven't been spectacular, but from adversity comes valuable experience -- something he'll need in a field with two former Champions!

Internet Relay Kombat Olympics - Day 3 (July 30, 2012)
[Group A] Zentile
d. Asesino
[+1]
Zentile looked confident in his second day out for Olympics pools, accountable but comfortable in his defeat of Asesino. Experience no doubt had a part to play in giving the Portuguese competitor the edge, Zentile the slightly more seasoned of the pair. Group A remains a hotly contested field despite Zentile's undefeated rise to the top of the table, still without any clear favourites. Day 4 brings the remaining unknown quantity of CCShadow in to play, with impact points a major factor to fight for!
[Group B] CaTigeReptile
d. Maridany
[+6]
A surprisingly sluggish performance from the Chinese representative failed to lessen the blow suffered by Maridany. Winless, the Venezuelan's chances of progressing from the pools becomes remote, outclassed in a Pool of former Champions. A shock +6 impact secures CaTigeReptile's play for a Semi Final berth, even if her performance left suggests a surprising vulnerability. The Australian hydraslash enters the fray tomorrow.

The fifth man of Group A had a tough start to his Olympic campaign, CCShadow narrow winner in a well earned result. The close match made for another low impact, keeping the finals well within the grasp of winners. Asesino's chance for a late rush after two losses received an unusual boost, Zmoke eliminated from competition in training.

CaTigeReptile was in Championship form as she rebounded from a slow start, unleashing a +15 destruction on an unsuspecting hydraslash! The Aussie comes into the pools with the least amount of experience of the group, but will no doubt hope to build on his encounter in his next bout, with Canadian contender, Ninja_Mime. CTR moves to the top of the standings with her reversal of fortunes, a real Gold medal prospect!

Internet Relay Kombat Olympics - Day 5 (August 1, 2012)
[Group A] CCShadow
d. Nephrite
[+1]
Group A remains impossible to predict after an intriguing Day 5! CCShadow stepped up to equal first rank courtesy of his convincing win over hot prospect, Nephrite! It was a slightly disappointing performance from the Croatian, who was swiftly disposed of by the duo specialist. Nephrite will be digging deep to stay in the race when he meets Asesino in Day 6 competition, looking to capitalize on potential impact points that will be vital after Zmoke's shock elimination from competition after mortal injury in training. The Finnish exit complicates the field, but ensures every fighter is still in with a Finals shot!
[Group B] Ninja_Mime
d. hydraslash
[+4]
After a punishing Olympic debut against China -- hydraslash was once again submitted to the school of hard knocks! Ninja_Mime would not be as devastating in his execution, but none the less presented a dominant performance. His comprehensive win boosts Canada's medal favourite status, putting the pressure back on the US in the North American rivalry. Day 6 will play host to a blockbuster encounter when Ninja_Mime meets CaTigeReptile!
