devilwithout.
I'm sure everyone has something to say about the situation, but I suggest that if you have an issue that must be talked about, you contact a moderator, or devilwithin himself. The Drive-By thread is not the place to do this.
Any further posts about incident will result in skulls. I suggest you get back to the topic of the thread, which is no topic. I'm not making any sense here...
Bottom line: Get back to talking about random crap, but before you post, check to see if there's a thread about your subject already. That not only helps keep the forums active, but will give your post a higher chance of being seen by like-minded individuals.
Everyone relax. It's just the internet.
How is everyone's day going? Meet anyone interesting? Do something fun?

And remember that new threads can [and should be] created.
Yeap, I knew it... the raspberries on my elbows are reaching their itching phase. This is the part of scab healing I hate the most. And the reason why I hate it... I'm growing my nails out a bit, they're quite sharp actually. This will not end well.
They need to be almost gone by Friday. They just need to be.

Not be rude or anything, but I sincerely doubt closing the Drive By will create new threads. In fact, I think it would drop. Mick, you yourself have become the driving force in thread creation because you've wanted conversations here turned into threads. These conversations spawned and grew in the Driveby- simple ststements grew into massive conversations and you advised them to create a new thread. torchia Wrote:

The General Discussion, you, and the Driveby form a symbian circle; you must realize this.
Remove the Driveby you'll decrease casual topicless interaction which later leads to ideas for threads. Remove yourself and your nightmare comes true, people talk for pages about Sonic 06 in the Driveby.
Finally, back to my original point. Closing the driveby won't create new threads. You really overestimate people's willingness to create threads. If I put something here, it means even if there wasn't a Driveby it would have never been a thread. It simply would have faded into dark recesses of my mind and been forgotten. All you'll accomplish with closing the driveby is frustrating people and breaking a communal place that drives the familial feeling of this place.
Oh, also, you seem to talk about this a lot. Maybe you should make a thread about it.
Jk

I HAVE A GREAT IDEA THAT EVERYONE SHOULD FOLLOW
Stop fucking complaining about this shit.
Seriously, I don't know how many times Mick (or myself, and I don't even know why I bother since I'm a regular user and nobody listens to Mick anyway) has to say it. If it warrants its own thread, make one. "Post whatever is on your mind" does not mean "talk for 3 pages about PS4" or "argue for 5 months about drugs". It's a random thought thread. Say what you're thinking about. That's it. If it spawns some good discourse or if you're that adamant about discussing something, make a damn thread for it.
For as many times as this senseless argument has come up, I'm utterly stunned that Mick hasn't told a mod or another staffer to close the thread or hasn't done it himself, either. To that point, it's pretty obvious that Mick doesn't want to close this thread, because if he did he'd have done it a long while ago. He wouldn't have even sent a mod to take care of it, since under him they're all relegated to a bunch of do-nothings anyway.
Watching the lot of you try to debate this makes me want to beat my head against a cement wall, since the feeling I get when reading it is eerily similar. Maybe it's just me, but when I take a step back and look at this community and the way it behaves, I don't know how any of you keep logging in here. The unwillingness to take a simple direction is quite frankly embarrassing and those of you who complain so much about it should probably steal a page from my playbook and make yourself scarce around here. Trust me, your mood will be better.
Today's dose of reality and a harsh truth brought to you by Geico.

I found this woman's purse on the train.
I found her phone inside and called the first number in the log, which happened to be her boyfriend. I told him I found his girlfriend's purse and he met me at the train station to pick it up.
That happening reminded me of just how good it feels to help others. I was smiling the rest of the way home. lol

I think I have a bruise rib cage... all because of that damn scooter incident.
God... fucking... damnit.
On other news, why am I watching old Youtube clips of when it was WWF and was actually tolerable watching? Oh, because it's the week before finals, that's why.
They're men... men in tights...

Over estimating Drive By posters is not likely to be an issue any time soon.
What you don't seem to recognize is that you aren't under any obligation to suddenly write an elaborate thesis, or radically change the content of your posts. The difference is where you're clicking 'post message.' All you need to do is do it in the right place. If you're unwilling to do that, it's not my business to diagnose you.
There's a right place and a wrong place. For some reason, people have been left long enough to burrow into a little corner and forget the basic principles of the community. So long they actually think there's an argument that supports circumventing the rest of the site. Not anymore. It's a small change that still affords you the same ability to share and discuss and participate.
The Drive By shouldn't need to close, but if people aren't able or willing to comply with basic forum principles, it's an inevitability. As has quite rightly been pointed out, I don't have any grand machinations for closing the Drive By. Especially not at the expense of people who are quite capable of using it appropriately as a compliment to the rest of the site, rather than a substitute.
It's not complicated and not a discussion. Big boy pants, time.
Less whining, more figuring it out for yourself.

I'll be pissed off, because it means people have been that lazy/ stupid/ inconsiderate/ arrogant/ juvenile.
Could you all please leave the gripes and complaints about this thread to IM?
You're kinda ruining the fun here.
Anyhoo, I'm worried about my summer semester in college. I have three classes for eight weeks. I'm in for a load of pain, lol but I need to obtain 62 credit hours in good time so I can graduate on time.

Seriously, I don't understand it. Watching this community refuse to listen and then complain when you threaten is akin to a person willingly dipping their hand in acid, being completely amazed that it hurts, but they don't take it out of the acid until they let you know how much it hurts. It's silly how simple of a fix this is and yet nobody listens.
I did have a joke about this constant complaining about what goes where and such... but it's kinda getting pathetic to be honest. Just stop caring about it. I cared about it for a bit, then I realized that I had more important things to worry about... like... dressing up as a 20's girl with a group of friends to go see the Great Gatsby, and I'm not even a Leonardo fan.

Dicaprio sucks...Someone had to say it.

Somebody should just make a thread "Complain About the Drive By", considering that's all anyone wants to do anymore.
So what if your post gets edited- you're still allowed to do thing like go to the thread you were redirected to. You have a better chance getting a conversation there then in Drive By.
So, how's everyone been that's still here?

I wish you all would stop complaining about other people complaining.
It's pathetic and it's ruining this thread.
Other than that, I've been pretty nervous about today. My portfolio for Music 121 is due today and I still haven't finished. It's all these articles, too many to read and note, and way too long.
