Pretty exciting news. The graphics look really nice. Although...I still haven't picked up the Generation V games...and I guess this means I'll eventually be buying a 3DS. Anyway, here's hoping there's a lot of cool new evolutions of past pokemon.

The tradition of a Chinese zodiac Fire-starter continues with Fennekin being a fox/dog and all. It might be a stretch, but so is calling Typhlosion a mouse

I'm really interested in the new Grass starter. It's the only one that doesn't maintain the tradition of being some sort of reptile/dinosaur, and looks like a woodland creature. I was always fond of Water and Grass starters, so I know who I'm picking.
I was hoping they wouldn't make a frog starter though. Seemed way too obvious, especially since it's been done before with Croagunk, Seismotoad, and Politoed. Yes, I know the last two are toads, but aesthetically, they're similar.

Well, that's true. For me Croagunk and Politoed are the best Frog pokemons so far.
Seismetoad and its evolutions have to be the worst frog pokemons ever.
Hopefully Froakie's evolution line won't be horrible.

I hate Seismetoad's design. I especially hate how its ass-head claps as an animation. It makes Luvdisc look less ridiculous.

Darumaintain's forms reminded me immediately of the Goron Chief, Daruina, in Ocarina of Time.

Isn't Fire/Psychic also a monster type in the Pokewood/Pokestar studios in B2/W2? Also Electric/Psychic. *Edit: Oh, Victini :p

Just disappointed in another fire fox as we have Vulpix and Ninetales, plus we have Zorua as a cute fox.

Chespin looks so random. Not a fan of the Froakie as I have a phobia of frogs. Let's hope its evolutions aren't as hideous Seismitoad.

I think the starter final evolutions will be:

Grass/Fighting
Fire/Poison
Water/Psychic

Can't wait to see if we get any new Eeveelutions.

According to moves displayed in videos, it's actually looking like grass/dark, fire/psychic, water/fighting, but I'm the type that hopes that none of these guys get a second type. The random dual typing of everything has been stupid since Gen 3.

My uncle works at Gamefreak and he said all of them evolve into Fire/Fighting

A few hours into Black right now (At the Desert Resort), and I'm really enjoying it. The new Pokemon are definitely growing on me, and I think it's great that they're the only ones available. My current team is Pignite, Boldore, Tympole, Sandile, Watchog and Pansage. There are a lot of new ones I want to try so I'll have to do a lot of switching around. My biggest issue is that a lot of the coolest ones to me are too similar in typing

I just accidentally grabbed the wrong fossil from the girl giving them out. What's better, Archeops or Carracosta? I wanted the bird. Mainly because I don't have something to carry me around. Though I hear Golurk can do that.

Honestly, that is a good team. I am liking the fact someone is using a Boldore because everyone knows it has to be traded to evolve. Trust me, though. Catching or trading for a Petilil is probably your best option for a first time BWer. At LV28 it gets Quiver Dance as Lilligant, and 22 as Petilil gets Giga Drain. Although, I do suggest Tepig on the first try, so cheers. I would recommend either Archeops or Golurk for your first flyers. Tranquil/Swoobat/Sigilyph are some of my least favorites, so I wouldn't recommend them. I love Yamask how it is one of the few Unova ghost types, but Jellicent can be considered better once you get Surf. Seismitoad after Palpitoad and Tympole are good, as in a good moveset is Surf/Sludge Wave/Mud Shot/Waterfall. As you move along replace your Tympole's moveset with Sludge Bomb and Earthquake/Bulldoze. Krookodile is good in the sense it can hit hard, but it can't take very many blows before falling like air. Once you beat the game I recommend Nincada/Drifblim/Tangela and maybe Volcarona.

Ninjask: The Ninja LV100
As it is said in its name, Ninjask is mainly a Ninja [to me]. Its best stats are Attack and Speed, so put it with the Silk Scarf and Slash plus a Dire Hit and you are almost guarenteed to win. Plus put a slow Pokemon in before fainting and let Speed Boost do its work before Baton Pass. My moves:

Aerial Ace
X-Scissor
Baton Pass

Drifblim: The Typecaster LV100
It very much serves a purpose to Water Type Pokemon. Thunderbolt paired with Magnet is a good matchup as always, and if you get one maybe put Thunder on it too (IDK if it can learn it). Also a Flyer, And deals with Ghost and Psychic Types amazingly along with Fighting. My Moves:
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Fly

Swampert: The Powerhouse LV100
It may not seem it, but Swampert is beside Ninjask in attack value. Go to the battle subway, get 100 BP, spend them on Protein. Gets the job done pretty fast and nicely too. Freeze them with Ice Beam, go outside of Battle with Surf or use it on Rock/Ground/Fire. Pair those with Earthquake and Hammer Arm. Hammer Arm causes Speed to lower plus low speed already, so give it Quick claw for good measure. My moves:
Hammer Arm
Surf
Ice Beam
Earthquake

Shuckle: The Tank LV100
If only my little cutie-pie was a Female, we would counter everything. Thing is, I'm just glad its nature doesn't affect its Defense(s). It doesn't even need Sturdy, but Toxic+Attract equals amazingness. Rocky Helmet for the Steel Types. My moves:
Strength
Toxic
Attract
Stone Edge

Ninetales: The Witch-Doctor LV100
Ninetales is cute, spooky, and best with Status moves. It is quite simple to Burn them with Flamethrower and lower attack, the use Confuse Ray, Quick Attack for first attack or little damage and then use Safeguard to protect from status ailments yourself. Razor Claw for critical hit ratio skyrockets. My moves:
Flamethrower
Quick Attack
Confuse Ray
Safeguard

Whimsicott - The Breaker LV100
I have Infiltrator, so Light Screen/Reflect/Barrier/Safeguard/Protect/Detect are my friends and let me strike. Use Cotton Spore to lower Speed, well, you'll probably be first anyway, but then Psychic for lowering Special Defense, then hit hard with Gust and Hurricane. Plus, Hurricane can confuse them and Gust hits flyers. Then give it the Miracle Seed if I ever give it Giga Drain. My moves:
Cotton Spore
Gust
Psychic
Hurricane

I'm not a competetive player really. I don't do IV it EV training etc I tend to just choose pokemon I like and try and get them thru the elite 4.

Ha. You guys actually think about what your plans are and what pokemon you are gonna use. I just pick my strongest pokemon and rush in pokegunz a blazin and see if I make it or not.

I recommend using your current party plus that Sawsbuck. Someone's been Audino training.

I've Audino trained a bit but I'm pretty much done with the game now that I've beaten elite elite 4. Just going to do the black city tower.

Do you guys have any Shiny pokemon?

Apart from the shiny red Gyarados in the course of the game's story, I also have a shiny Murkrow. Its plumage is still black but the beak is a much brighter yellow.

Ive been fairly lucky that n that ive had a few shinies over the games. One in almost every game from Leafgreen. I've just never been able to transfer them.

I've maybe got some other of the game wrong way round as I haven't look at them in ages.

When I play Pokemon games I always get someone who has already beat it to trade me the six Pokemon that I want to use for my team, and then I spend the rest of the game using repel. Kind of unfortunate because then I never run into any Shiny Pokemon aside from the one that's built into Silver.
