Well we were all hoping that they would find some way to work out the four-legged feature. I guess not. I really don't know how to feel about this really.

I have no problem accepting Motaros new appearance. I totally agree having a horse sidestep would look totally ridiculous.

Yeah but they have a stronger game engine for MKA than deception. They could have re-formated the bit map image that was used in MK3 and shaped him into a 3D Motaro rather than easing the space.Then again, boon was trying not to take his time so that he could make it to the release date he said or they wanted to try somthing new with Motaro, I am also a fellow game developer.

I think it was a move made for the better. In vs mode 4 legs probably would've turned out disastrous. But maybe he is featured in konquest mode (with 4 legs) and how his transformation came to be becomes explained in the story line. We'll anyway, I actually think I like him better now and I might actually play as him. So to wrap things up, 2 legs work for vs combat and 4 legs would seem more possible if he is featured in konquest mode.
PS: Off topic... but does anyone else also prefer the "Krypt" name over the soon to be changed to "Vault"? I sure do...

I don't mind Motaro's reduced leg count, but from a PR standpoint, I think Boon should have admitted it earlier. "Yeah, we're gonna put Motaro in, but he's gonna have two legs. Otherwise, we have to write big chunks of extra code just for him, and that's going to eat up lots of time we'd prefer to spend refining other aspects of the game." Let the obsessive, nitpicky types get their screaming and crying out of the way early, instead of seven short weeks before the game comes out.

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand why he couldn't have four legs. I'm still getting this game, and seeing him as a bipedal creature hasn't extinguished my unthusiasm for this game, but, I still think the four legs could've worked.
Side stepping: Have motaro rear up on 2 legs and side step.OR have the back legs move over, followed by the front.
Jumping over him: again not a big problem. as far as I could tell, no character was able to jump over Onaga. That shouldn't have been an issue.
Any advantages he may have had from being so big and powerful, could've been countered with him being slow-moving.
Now another question.If his back end is gone, where the heck is his twigs n' berries, man??!

Hold on just a damn minute. I'm not whining and neither is anyone else. We're just making a point and I agree with some but not all. To tell you the truth I didn't want his ass in the game in the first place because he was a pain in the ass to beat in MK3 and it would'nt be any different in MKA. Gameplay wise he was HORRIBLE with four legs in MKT.
It was awkward and nearly unplayable.
But that's what made Motaro.
Goro and Kintaro were monsters with an extra pair of arms.After they both
"died" MK3 had a monster with an extra pair of legs.
What he lacked in gameplay was made up for in personality.
They better have a good reason for this.
But still,I'm glad he's in the game AT ALL.

What a let down......
I was really hoping to play as a centaur.
That he would be impossible to make doesn't make any sense.
He is not half horse, he is something else, a made up four legged body.
Look at the anatomy on his legs for MK3
The front legs look like human legs with hooves.
The back legs have an extra joint.
They could have easily gotten away with making him move however they wanted, side steps and all because it's not a horse.
Even if he was a horse, he could do the quick turn for side steps and side walks, like a real horse would.
He would be very different game play wise from normal characters, but could still be made effective.
I'm guessing this change is due to time constraints.

I don't buy these 3D, alleged "Mortal Kombats" for their gameplay, since they suck ass.. I buy em just for the novelty of the tribute to the original MKs..
