I dont doubt Kahn will make the cut, but for some reason I feel his spot might not be counted in the game. He might not even be playable, same for a sub-boss like Goro.

And Im sure Mileena wouldnt fit in the generic model Kitana showed with the simple render. If they go with a "new" look with elements from the one of MKD, Im sure she'd shine as she did in that game and the rest.

Frankly, the only thing I can think of more ridiculous than a composite superman is a Darkseid/Mr. Mxyzptlk composite. Which would, in my opinion, be totally within the idiotic realm of possibility for an Ed Boon game.

That would make the "epic villain" clue from Kotaku... interesting.
Epic villain really implies a hefty character, which in turn implies the inclusion in the list of a boss level, or pre-merged boss character.

Which obviously implies a precedent for including those characters in the list, which could potentially include Shao Kahn in the MK tally. Although, Kotaku also inadvertently implied the list might be twelve deep...

It will almost certainly be Raiden.

Raiden seems like a fucking safe bet to me. On top of that, I'd have to go with Johnny Cage (he's got his own look, moves, style, personality and was a big part of the original movie -- where he even became the MK Champion). My third slot would go to Goro, I believe. The visual of Goro is strongly associated with Mortal Kombat, and if you need a monster character in there, this is the way to go, in my opinion.

Any character that has its likeness rendered for a Simpsons episode is iconic enough, by my standards. Goro would also be a character that could be a believable threat to a Superman or Wonder Woman, even though each character is being scaled down. MK needs some heavy hitters in this.

Shao Kahn should be offered as Mortal Kombat's chief villain for the game.

On the DC side, Wonder Woman is almost as obvious as Raiden. It also adds another female to the DC side, to balance things out. Lobo is a well-liked character, who might not be "iconic," but is cool enough to include without complaints, and might earn some fans of the character. He's be a hidden gem of the game, and would make a great parallel to say, Scorpion (of course, I'm saying this without fully knowing his story).

My heart then wants to go with Doomsday, as an opponent for Goro. Seriously, how cool would that fight be? And I'm not even a fan of Goro. My brain says that Aqua Man would be an iconic character they would include. Especially with him now being featured in Smallville. I think he's being used on that show, anyway. Another possibility is the Green Arrow. I think there's a film about him coming out, but that would mean two "Greens" in one game. I can't see them going that route.

Darkseid as DC's major villain. That would be really cool.

Does anyone know what clues are remaining, and if so, are these official or just rumors or loose guidelines? Obviously, the "Prototypical Superhero" would be Captain Marvel or Superman, in the case of the latter than Capt. Marvel could be the Mystical Superhero. I haven't seen anything that makes me think Military Superhero or Ninja Supervillain. What else is there?

Chances seem pretty good that the "military" superhero is Green Lantern.

I suspect Shao Kahn will be the "mash-up" villain....mashed up with Darkseid. Therefore making him the boss and unplayable. If Goro has any involvement, I imagine he will also be unplayable...probably a sub-boss. And as for Johnny Cage and Kano....I won't vomit if they're included, but I will probably let out a very foul tasting burp.

Let's see, since it's said that there will be three more characters from the MK side:

+ Raiden - he's unquestionably iconic, he pretty much has to be in

+ Reptile - he fulfills the need for more villains and has quite a large fanbase

+ Shinnok or Quan Chi - fulfills the need for another villain

I left out Kahn because I figure somehow he's involved with the presumably non-playable "mesh" boss character.

Hey, question. Boon said this game would take place between MK2 and MK3, but do you think that automatically excludes characters from beyond that? I mean I already see an anachronism with the characters and their special moves (Sonya's stun kiss, Scorpion's hellfire, etc.). What do you guys think?

Johnny-freakin-cage...thats all there is too it...in the top 4 at least. of most memorable/iconic...great moveset..al in all, one of the best...im gonna be severly pissed if jimmy paminotti's character...the one with the jc build means that there is no room for johnny... i thought they were tryin to go with something more dark and serious, i cant see how a comic-book artist fits into that description...

as long as mileena is the game then i really dont care, and i really dont see why they would not have her in the game. Dc has a female villian and mk has put in two heros so i think they need one more female on the mk side and that last female should be mileena

i woulda prefered mileena then kitana..just to even up the hero to villain ratio

I am a little bit confused by reading alot of threads
how many characters are there in this game?

*some say 20 characters only
*and other say 22 characters only
*and some say 20 characters with one boss from each side
*some say 20 characters + 2 hidden characters+ non payable bosses and that would be 24 characters as totall list
*some say bosses are payable and included in the list of 20 characters

..........
-I need to know for sure if there are boss characters and if they are payable or just like mkda.
-I need to know if these these boss characters are includes in the 22 list or do they belong to 23 and 24 or 21 and 22

I was at the comic-con panel and Boon said that Smoke and Noob Saibot will most liely not be in the game. He said it pretty much as a fact that neither would be in. Jimmy Palomotii said kinda of hintingly that Black Canary would be in the game. So I beleive the last characters are:

Raiden shall be in the game, I have no doubts about that one. They're just teasing us by not releasing him yet. Can't wait to see how he is gonna look since we're gonna have a classic look back most probably.

then there are 2 spots left. I am a huge fan of Baraka and I'm hoping he'll make the cut, but in all honeslty I don't think he will. But then, I didn't expect Jax to be in ans he did! Something I'm happy about. I see Jax as a recognizable character from MK.

I think Cage will make it. His signatures moves and his personality should be in when you're gonna wrap up the most iconic characters together. Then for the last spot, much characters could be in. Baraka is one of them, but what about Mileena and Kung Lao? Kahn will be some kind of boss I think.
