To clarify; I'm not disputing the liklihood of Deathstroke being in the game, however -- how is that clue obvious? He is not a ninja! It's a terrible clue!
And no! He does not resemble a ninja in any fashion!

The following characters are not my favorite characters... but are the characters that I think would best fit in and have a good case for getting in (In order)

1 Raiden - He is the only certainty to me. Having one of the most iconic characters in the series not in the game would be foolish of Midway.

2 Mileena - There is a severe lack of bad guys so far (and women for that matter). Mileena not only looks amazing as a character... she is an icon of the series. She is to Kitana what Scorpion is to SubZero... it would be a massive shame tgo not have her in.

3 Baraka - He has such a stylised look that I think would be PERFECT for this game. There is no one announced so far with such a dark look. He also fills the lack of bad guy quota

4 Kung Lao - I find him more iconic than Lui Kang... Lui Kang has been forced on MK fans from the start where I feel Kungf Lao is the more interesting character with a strong look

5 Sindel - If this was between MK 2 + 3... she would be a bad ass again. I think once again her look is really striking and you could do alot with her powers (levitation etc)

Raiden, Reptile and Goro.

The obvious 3 are:

* Rayden
* Johnny Cage
* Mileena (if one more female is confirmed, which I really hope)

Shao Kahn will probably be in the game, its very likely, so I hope he is just there as a boss thats not playable or hidden, that way, we get our extra 3.

I'd like to think there are other characters (Kano, Goro, Shao Kahn, or even Reptile) that are more obvious than Mileena. Particularly with Kitana already filling that particularly generic model.

to me as it stands right now raiden and johnny cage have the best chances of getting in considering how nostalgic both characters are being in the first MK and all. i'd include kano in that also but he doesn't appear to be as popular.

i think this game might only have three female fighters so i think mileena is ass out this time but if they do put another female MK character in it HAS to be her.

I'd go Kung Lao > Jonny Cage if they're trying to be "taken seriously" about this game. He's more cinematic than Jonny Cage iMo.

I don't think we'll see another ninja pop up before the game comes out. Unless it's a robot, they're all iconic secret characters.

And unless it's Goro or Kintaro, I can't see them using any other monster character than Baraka. There's maybe 2-in-1 with Mileena I guess. But I still think that if we're gonna see her, she'll pop up closest to release or something, and impulse everyone to buy the game one more good time. Sheeva is unlikely, but she fits here too.

If they are going for iconic, they HAVE to have Johnny Cage.

He is a very popular well known character, and is the comic relief.

Cage is on the MK1 machine. Raiden is on MK2's machine..

Well I don't read enough DC comics to make an educated guess about them, but I know Wonder Woman will probably be one of them.

Anyways..MK:

1. Raiden-I'm Surprised he isn't confirmed yet. I can't imagine a game with MK's iconic characters that he isn't in.

2. Reptile-I know people are a little fussy over three ninjas but Reptile brought something to MK that would prove to be important. Secret characters. Of course he wasn't playable until MK2 but he still brought that important aspect of MK to exsistance in MK1.

3. Johnny Cage or Kung Lao-I'm really torn apart at this one. I like Kung Lao more. But Johnny Cage was one of the original characters, and believe it or not he's one of the people I think of when I hear MK. Kung Lao is also a good fit here but I'd be happy with either.

I think Shao Kahn should be incorporated some way into the story. I don't see him as playable though.

Other characters you could make a case for would be people like Mileena, Baraka, Kano, maybe even one of the cyber ninjas. But for now my guess is Raiden, Reptile and Johnny Cage or Kung Lao.

My takes:

When you think MK you think of ninjas Scorpion, Sub Zero and:

Raiden- Cool guy with a funny hat anc can electrocute you.

Shao Kahn- Bad guy with cool skull Samurai-like helmet.
or
Kung Lao- Guy with cool razor hat.

Baraka- Ugly guy with cool blades on his arms.

MK
Reptile (HOPING), Baraka, Cyborg Smoke, and Raiden

-With the exception of Raiden I think the other three characters fit in well as "supervillains" for the DC side, Kung Lao would have been another choice but we already have Liu Kang and enough good guys. They need a cyborg ninja and I've always liked Sektor but maybe they should save him for MK9 and use Cyborg Smoke who is probably more iconic.

DC
Wonder Woman (duh), Deathstroke, Lobo, and Darkseid

-WW is pretty much confirmed
-Deathstroke would be a cool realistic ninja change
-Lobo fits in well with MK and has those chains... I would say he's iconic.. I've known about him for years but never read his comics
-Darkseid = badass boss

Even though he isn't a ninja, doesn't look like a ninja, and doesn't really fight like a ninja? ... Oh, right! Mortal Kombat! Gotcha!

Mileena, Reptile and Raiden should be the last MK characters. MK3 ppl are non existant by the looks of things so Bye Sindel!!

At the last minute, I'm guessing Raiden will be announced as the last character. Like Jax, it's obvious they must have Raiden in this fight.

Mileena.

There were only three women in MK before MK3. They can't leave Mileena out.

Raiden is a lock, Shao Kahn is likely, and they'll probably make an unpopular choice with me and people I know and include Reptile.

All from MK1 like 5 of them (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya, Liu Kang, Shg Tsung)

Reptile still has a chance. I mean if they can pull out Shazam and Jax from their little bag of tricks I'm sure he will make it. As well as the fact that Reptile could better fit into the "Ninja" type MK character. (Mainly for his stealth and agility) Or on the other hand if they go with an MK4/MKDA type look for him he could possibly have a chance at being the "Monster" type character. It's a possibility.

Then obviously Raiden will be one of them. He's in the top few MK icons. Not to mention there has been no "God" type character announced yet. He's practically in.

Then for the last I not only hope for, but expect Kung Lao to be in. Most people say he doesn't have a chance because there is already one "Monk" type character (Liu Kang)

I dissagree. Kung Lao is nothing like a Shaolin Monk. He kills with Brutality, he'll rush into any fight he sees. He attacks with strong offense, is easily angered... etc I'd say the only 2 we can actually call 'Shaolin Monks" are Liu Kang and Kai. Those 2 are defense type characters that never attack for no reason. They only defend themselves and others. They are very agile and value life more than anything. And like a monk should they fight mostly with their hands, while Kung Lao uses a razor tipped hat. The only time I ever considered Lao to be a Shaolin Monk type character was in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. Where he wore more traditional monk clothing and would pray, light insence, do chinese stuff, etc. But even then he wanted extreme revenge on Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. And no true monk would fight for vengeance. Or hate.

I would actually put Kung lao in a more... unstable type catagory. What I mean by that is that he is kind of a more unpredictable character when compared to the other monks. He just seems like his character could turn in any direction without warning. He might even end up siding with darkness. Which I'd love to see lol. Lao doesn't seem like a monk characetr at all to me and so I'd still say based off his actions in previous games that he has a nice chance of getting in.
