Hey, I thought it was awesome too, I hate Liu Kang!
However, not too many people feel the same way we do. THAT's where they fucked up.

I second the b-day wishes to Garlador here. So my older bro Sean isn't alone in having his b-day today. RAWK.
Anyway. Sinus infection + headache aside, I came on to say that I'm officially tuned in to what good things that MK vs DCU is going to give us in terms of refined gameplay and all. The loss of what would have been rather nice fatalities is now next to nothing to me. Though I still think, and I gotta somehow get my username re-looked up via my e-mail so I'll post right to Midway and they can see my opinion, the team can easily re-do the Joker's first one with that spear gun idea that Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker used in its unedited version. Shooting a spear with the BANG! flag on it into the loser's chest. Kitana's fans are both going in the loser's chest now, so why not implement this and forgetting the fade to black and then back in after the shot to the face?
They might lose about half a night of sleep in making that spear gun and such, but that would shut up SOME of these gore crackheads that have been spamming the topic.

Because I don't know how to delete the other one and I felt that statement was more relevant to this topic.

WTF is up with all this selling out Bullshit...
Midway is a corporation, they do what they want and what they feel will make them the most money. Look what the Mk team has been doing for years with all game characters. We always have Sub-Zero and Scorpion, Fan favorites. They listen to us, if they had "Sold Out", which I don't think they can actually do, then they would have stopped listening to the fans :D
Anyway... yea I could give two fucks about the toning down of the fatalities, the ultra violence isn't what makes the series. If anything other than the characters/ Plot/ and game play, it would be the fatalities which are still there, and for a Teen rated game we're lucky. I don't think anyone should be complaining at this point everything looks great so far and this will all probably end with everyone bitching on here with a copy at home. :D Pretty much anyone who is complaining now is just looking for a reason to.

And they are, whats your point? MKVSDCU is nothing but MKDA version.4 with a crop load of DC characters (who shares moves from other mk characters), a few bells and whistles thrown in for gameplay and the same exact MK characters we get in every mk game. Umm...Yeah, thats really something freakin epic.

I don't recall deadly alliance having throw escapes, wake up options or a free-form fighting system.

I can honestly say, I am just suprised by the awesome 180 you pulled on this game once news of the fatalities being toned down broke out. I could be wrong, but I don't really remember hearing anything like this from you before that moment(correct me if i'm wrong). I respect your opinion and all, but I just can't help but to feel like your whole argument stems from bitterness about the fatalties.

This may sound like a stupid question, but what are wake up moves guys?
When you're on the floor and there is an enemy coming at you, instead of just getting up you attack your way up just to back the enemy a bit and give yourself room to get up. Such as in one video when batman was on the floor he did a quick jump-kick to jump back up into action.

People wanted a Goth/Vampire/Pirate-like character; we got Nitara.
People wanted a character who fought like a Wrestler; we got Hsu Hao.
People wanted to see Liu Kang die; he died in MK:DA.
People wanted to bring back the obscure favourites from previous games; we got back Kabal in MK:D and lost Mavado for it.
These were all ideas based on what the fans wanted, and I think the fans have done enough damage.
Hopefully, if anything, they listened to the fans about the important things about the game, including game-play and story.

Nitara is the worst female character MK ever introduced. Liu Kang dying wasn't so bad. It was actually a pretty good twist in the MK story. But of course I think its high time people stop dying only to be resurrected. If any characters die next go round , if they haven't already in Armageddon, they should stay dead.

I completely 1000% agree with that statement. Mortal Kombat is supposed to be deadly. Whats the point of fighting to the death if anyone can just be resurrected...though I was happy that Kitana was after Quan-chi killed her ^^;
I understand there always has to be some of the original characters in the games, like Scorp, Sub and Raiden, just like in every Street Fighter game you have Ken, Ryu, and Chun-Li. But if the next REAL Mortal Kombat in the series that picks up where MKA left off were to have a fresh whole new roster of characters with only a handful of the current ones like Boon said there would be, I'd be completely fine with that. I love my Edenian girls, but I love change too. That is, if it's a good change with awesome characters with awesome moves and fatalities. Original Fatalities, not that Create -a- Fatality shit. I just died a little just thinking about it. >.>

I do know that the reason why MKD failed(in my eyes) was because they listened to fans and brought TOO much back, completely dropping all the cool DA characters and sub-plots and making it feel less like a sequel. MKD is what ruined the series last generation, story wise.

Exactly. Those things you refer to as "bells and whistles" are standard in almost every fighter to date, and MK has been the exception to this and suffered severely for it. This game is considered a joke to almost every hardcore fighting gamer out there, to the point that this game isn't even put into popular fighting game tournaments (to contrast this, people argue more for the inclusion of the Smash Bros games more than for an MK game). These "bells and whistles" will get actual fighting-game fans to get interested in the series and have the next game actually have a much larger, perhaps more mainstream following.

So you cry when Boon listens to the fans and creates the same game by cramming an assload of fan favorites, and MK's "signature" huge amounts of blood, and ridiculous exploding gore. THEN, you continue to cry when Boon does something new and incorporates a decent story to it, as well as an improved fighting system and not just cramming an assload of fan requests... What would it take to get you to stop crying?
