i got a question tho... does any one know of any servers that have more MK players in them? cuz that one there doesnt have many MK games going on ever. usually just a couple if any at all. so any servers u guys suggest?

No servers has more of any type of player in it really, it's just a giant server with sub-servers everyone hops in and out of. I'll find you.

ur wrong there. that Miami server (64.34.162.170:6969 ) has mostly Marvel vs. Capcom games a lot of the time. also other Capcom vs. , Street Fighter Alpha 3, and KOF games r there a bit of the time. MK games arent there that much. only reason i still go there is cuz i play MvC also and theres a lot of MvC players there. i remember this one server that had MK games in there often but not many ppl play there now.

well i just got done playing UMK3 for an hour straight with the MKO member, jtaylo. it was pretty fun. neither of us totally owning the other. just like it should be. never fun to always lose. not always fun to always win either. most the time we would only get 2 wins in a row over each other.had to stop tho cuz my hands were starting to hurt since i gotta use the keyboard to play. it started messing me up and i ended up loseing 5 times in a row. came back tho with 3 wins in a row and the last match i did the ice shatter fatality of Subbies.

so yea that was pretty fun. i need more practice tho till im as good as i use to be. keep messing up with Liu's combo HP, HP, BLK, LK, LK, HK, LK. keep messing up on the BLK part cuz im not yet full yuse to useing the keyboard.

besides that i kept messing up doing fatalites accidently doing them backwards. like with Sektor the torch fatality is F, F, F, B, BLK. i kept doing B, B, B, F, BLK. lol.

a piece of advice to liu kang187 :
if you were used to play mk with a controller, don't try to play it with the keyboard and just go buy an USB adaptator for your controller or an USB controller, because even if you manage to master more or less the keyboard, you never won't be as good as you can be with your favourite controller...after all it's pretty normal ; the console controllers are especially designed for playing video games.

nah i do fine with keyboard. only times i ever get totally spanked in MK is if im up against a master who has never stoped playing MK. (believe it or not theres ppl who have played MK each and every day when they came out and still do to this day.) pretty much if i end up fighting some one who most the time chooses who the play with by random, then i know that they r most likely a master at the game. although i ran into one player like that except it was like he didnt know how to block....

The keyboard is superior to any gamepad. It's KB or stick for me, I can't use gamepads for fighting games anymore because they are too sloppy.

the keyboard was definitely not designed for playing video games, unlike console pads like psx pads. Therefore it's much more convenient to use them, unless you don't mind about staying at the same level at a game of course...

when you say keyboard is superior to pads it's just your opinion, and no matter if a few other people (sinala included) think that way too, it's false. That may be the reason why both of you suck at umk3 besides.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm not talking about my own opinion here, I'm talking about a FACT : keyboards are not designed for playing videogames, at the time of the very first computers there were none mk games you know , so it's pretty normal and obvious that it's not a convenient tool to play that series, and it certainly can't be better than the console controllers which have appeared almost thirty years later.
MK is a game that was designed to be played with the sticks on the arcade cabinets or on the pads for consoles, keyboard is just what some players use on kaillera, since many of them have no other choice.
you're in that case I guess.
I even don't know if you use the keyboard for umk3, but if so, just tell yourself that it may be why you suck at that game.
Make your own judgement instead of doing the perrot , at least try to play it with a controller (or don't I don't care) but stop talking about what you don't know cause you're becoming really boring.

i actually do have a controller for my PC. i have for months. i just choose to play MK on keyboard cuz it IS better. although for every other fighter ive played the controller works better. but KB for MK.

Liu187 if I can catch you on kaillera, I will show you the limits of the keyboard in a few friendly matches, but I can already tell you without being wrong, that if you use it for umk3 you will get owned by almost all the other average players who use a pad.

You can't show anyone their limits in MK because you don't have the opportunity to play anyone at their best, or even close to it. The only limits anyone experiences are the artificial ones created by netplay and your slow ass computer which enhances your scrub level tactics when others are trying to play the game for real in a situation where the game slower than usual, and they have lag they aren't use to.

You can continue to lie to yourself as much as you want, but if and when the time comes and you get to journey to the states and have to play on an arcade machine with no PSX pad, you will get slaughtered, and go home broken, defeated, and penniless.

For me it works in this way:
If i see that my opponent didnt block my 3 or more non combo attacks in a row when im close then something is wrong , i can see that and i see it everytime when it occurs.
When i played with nafa there was some ridiculous mistakes , he have kung lao and someone but on my screen was KANO and shang tsung LOL

How about MK2KungBroken and NMNafa never play each other again? That would work well, as we wouldn't see you 2 guys argue an argument that will never end.

Anyway, the gamepad vs. keyboard thing... in many cases it boils down to the type of game you're playing.

A gamepad will be pretty good for a Capcom fighter because those games use lots of "rolling" motions. Doing capcom-style super moves can be hell on a keyboard.

MK on the other hand uses mostly "tap" commands, like F,F+HP, B,B,F+LP, etc. Even the "roll" moves are technically just "down, then forward" and can be easily tapped. A keyboard lends itself VERY well to this style of command.

And then of course we have autocombos... a gamepad forces you to do everything with one thumb. With a keyboard your whole hand is free... and you can leave your thumb on the run button if you like (and of course, any move that requires you to hold a button down becomse MUCH easier). In this way, using a keyboard is actually VERY similar to playing with the arcade controllers that the game was designed for. I do play better with my arcade joystick, but it is fairly easy for me to transition from that to a keyboard if I have to. However, if I try to play MK on a gamepad, I'm just lost. True, that is partly due to the fact that I'm just not used to it. But the reality is that on a gamepad you have to adjust to radically different hand movements, which deviate from the way the game was originally intended to be played.

So that's my opinion on the matter but I think it happens to be a damn good one.
