The persistent whining of how Netherrealm Studios/Warner Brothers are marketing this game is becoming painfully annoying. I didn't realize that game companies need to have a consistency when releasing info.


I mean it's not like they're working on stuff, they're clearly just twiddling their thumbs and rocking in their chairs in their offices.

Don't act stupid. You know they are ahead of schedule, Adam confirmed so in an interview, and you also know it isn't the same guys who work on the game who also handle the marketing part.

There is no doubt in my mind that they are withholding information that is ready to be revealed. They just choose not to for whatever reason that may be.

Yeah, that's called a "marketing strategy". IE, "don't blow your load and reveal everything at once".

Come on, Jaded. Would you rather them reveal everything within the next month or so and then have nothing left to speculate about? Guarantee we wouldn't have anything new to talk about leading up to the release, and that's a definite hype-killer.

Aren't you the least bit excited that we're getting a nice-looking MK, financially backed by a power-house company (WB)? MKX is shaping up to being one hell of a game. Even if Reptile, Ermac, Shang Tsung, Li Mei, ect don't make it in, I'm still hyped for MKX. It just looks amazing, and based on what NRS has shown us, I have complete faith in their ability to deliver more impressive reveals and content. And because of that faith, I don't need weekly or even monthly reveals to maintain my hype.

Simply put, it's MK, and it doesn't look like shit. I'm hype.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm glad to have a new MK to look forward to. That was never in question. But the news and reveals we've had after the game's announcement aren't exciting to me, as I've already explained. And because of the inconsistency of news, my excitement for the game has died down. I'm not hyped.

I'm glad you, and apparently everyone else but me, are excited and hyped still, but I just don't share that feeling.

Because there's only so much to show/reveal/tell. Even before the leak of MK9 info, they already revealed most of the stuff in the game. They also want to have some stuff a surprise. We would know everything there is to know, 2 months before the game comes out, if we were to have consistent conent every week.

Not only that, a lot of the stuff we see months before release, feels old by the time the game comes out. I don't know about you, but it's better when it's new and fresh. It's in our nature to feel the need to overanalyze, speculate, and discuss everything we are given. So the more they hold back til closer to the game, the better. Honestly...and they know this.

They want to keep things as fresh as possible by the time of release. Waiting til the last 3-4 months to start releasing more, accomplishes this.

This is just a difference in opinions, and if I've learned anything over the years, it's that people aren't going to change their opinion just based on an argument online.

So let's just move on. It's pointless. We tried. The only difference between us and Jaded, is that we'll be happier and content for the next 7 months. Negativity just makes you grumpy and miserable. If that's the way you choose to feel, that's your choice. I prefer to be positive.

Typical self entitled attitude of MK fans I question your loyalty to the MK series as a whole or if you're just a fan of select characters within the series. NRs has given us more than enough to get hype about, so none of it has been to your liking? again a personal problem. Just sit back relax, play something else in the mean time and wait just like everyone else.

Actually i'm really surprised we didn't get any new info yet. I thought NRS would reveal a Trailer about Goro - but nothing happened.

I hope they reveal something during this week.... I'm hungry for more Infos :D

I also want more reveals but sadly NRS and Warner Brothers don't work like that. Even with Midway the release of info was slow. I hope that they bring out more information and characters but...yea I think this will be it for the next couple of weeks, maybe months.

But then again thats good marketing because you are excited for the new game and talking about the new game. So the marketing really works in a way.

Except some just don't get it, which I don't get, because it's not that hard to understand how marketing works when it comes to video games.

It still has us talking about this game, we still come here and be active on this part of the site... Really, I just don't get how complicated it appears to be when it comes to marketing.
