This is actually much more common than you guys may think. Imagine the number of messages Shaun gets everyday, and the number of agressive messages, threating him and his family (over a videogame, lol). I understand his reasons.

This happens all the time, not just in a fanbase, but everywhere, in and out of the internet. The world is full of people that think their wishes are demands and act like they're some king of bullshitness

The real danger is that some of these people actually DO what they say they will do. Horrible

I hope he gets back soon after a while.

Isn't a threat considered terrorism there in the USA? I know as a fan of the NBA that some players have been charged with "terrorism" when they threatened their girlfriends (the case I'm thinking right now apparently the guy didn't threat her and she made up the story, but I was surprised he was charged for terrorism and then I read it was just that).

If that counts as terrorism the guy could have a hard time. No one should go as far as twitting stuff like that even if he didn't mean it. Shaun was one of the nicest guys on twitter.

A lot of devs/even non devs get such bad things on going. There is an ugly side to every fanbase. I wouldn't love it to read tweets about my wife/kid getting raped because of a fucking character.

And Shaun has all the right to get fed up and leave. He isn't obliged to use twitter to promote the game.

I am just sad that such people are increasing. Twitter is such a shitty social site when it comes to these stuff.

Yeah this type of nonsense happens on the internet and social media all the time. I remember back when we were waiting for Dedication 5 to drop somebody threatened to kill DJ Drama if he didn't finish tagging the tape and drop it now, shit was ridiculous.

Then another guy posted a picture of a gun and threatened to kill his sister if J Cole didn't rewteet him or some shit. Cole did it just to be safe though, but just goes to show how fucking desperate some people are for attention, its ridiculous.

Because I have done nothing wrong, I didn't break any rules therefore why ban me?

I actually managed to break down fights dozens of times and defended lots of kids that got bullied back in school. I felt that it's the right thing to do. Keep on walking and do nothing is the problem with our society these days.

I'm not a Shaun ass kisser, I'm a fan of MK and when I see that a developer had to step down because some shitstain threatened his family, it triggers me.

You don't need to feel sad for me, I don't need your sympathy, save it for yourself for being an apathetic human being.

He gave us a lot of info about the game and was open to the MK community. Him quitting Twitter for a while is, in my opinion, worthy of note. He has supported us, why shouldn't we support him? The assclowns have gotten to him, so we are showing our respect to him, informing others in the community why he is on hiatus, and shaming the guy responsible.

I've been critical of some of the NRS's choices on Twitter but I would never EVER bring their families or anything personal into their work. That is beyond awful. I hope Shaun is doing ok.

What does how common it is here have to do with anything. This type of incident isn't that common on twitter?

I've seen posts explicitly stating rape, people hurling the word retard, and expressions of racism. Trolling or not people act stupid all over the internet.

Why you guys are sucking up to this incident as if its any different confuses me. Shaun is a public figure if only for a minute, and he knows this guy was being an idiot.
